Chapter 31: 31 | Gifting The Ladies The Technique
Five minutes passed and just when Dexter was beginning to think he should simply leave and return to the girls, to check on their progress, the old man returned.
"Here’s your gift."
It had a strange black cord attached to a circular pendant split into two colors. Black and white.
Dexter blinked, taking the necklace automatically. "What is this?"
The old man simply stared at him, and then shook his head and sighed.
"Keep it safe."
Before Dexter could ask anything, the old man turned around and left without explanation.
Dexter stood there, still holding the necklace, completely confused.
A few seconds later, he looked upward, toward the balcony of the old man above.
Standing there, was a young woman.
She was staring directly at him, her gaze intense and unblinking. Long black hair flowed down her shoulders like ink with two beautiful violet eyes.
For a brief second, Dexter found himself stunned. She was incredibly attractive almost comparable to Mira, Lyra, and Selene.
The young woman merely stared at him silently, her expression unreadable.
Dexter lowered his gaze, suddenly uncomfortable with the intensity of her attention.
---
Whatever this necklace was— it was definitely not ordinary.
After staring at it for a moment longer, Dexter shrugged, forcing himself to relax. "Well..." he muttered to himself, a wry smile tugging at his lips. "It’s probably something good."
Without thinking too much about it, he placed the necklace around his neck, then he tucked it beneath his shirt, hiding it from view. Satisfied, Dexter turned around and headed back toward his room.
---
As he walked he kept thinking how perfect the scripture would be to the girls.
Their meridians have been shattered which means they would be useless for life until it’s repaired.
But with this scripture, it removed the need for meridians entirely.
’I’m giving it to them.’
Without hesitation, Dexter entered the room. They had already finished eating, the empty dishes pushed to the side.
He glanced at all three of them. "I need to talk to three of you."
A few moments later, all three sat in the living room, staring at him curiously.
"Don’t tell me you want to announce your fourth wife."
Lyra’s eyes widened and Selene’s sandwich almost fell to the ground.
Dexter’s lips curled to a smile.
"Even better."
"Two wives?" Mira frowned this time.
Dexter stood in front of them and chuckled.
"Nop, I have a cultivation technique."
The girls blinked, their confusion deepening rather than resolving.
Dexter continued. "I want to give it to all of you."
Silence.
Mira rolled her eyes, in disappointment.
"Seriously?"
"No matter what cultivation technique you have... it can’t possibly compare to our family cultivation arts."
Dexter simply remained silent, allowing her to express her doubts without interruption.
Mira smiled smugly. "Our families trained us using Tier Four cultivation techniques. Even after everything... those are still among the best techniques in this entire city. They’ve been refined over generations, perfected through centuries of careful study and practice."
She paused, her expression taking on a condescending quality. "So unless you somehow found something better than that..."
She suddenly stopped speaking.
Because Dexter was smiling.
Smiling.
’Did he actually...?,
Mira eyes narrowed.
She didn’t believe he found one better than Tier 4.
Even Selene was staring intently now.
Then— without warning— Dexter stepped forward.
And placed his hand gently on Mira’s forehead.
Mira flinched instinctively, her body stiffening. She felt like pushing her head away, but then, she lowered her head and submitted, wondering what the hell their husband was up to.
Inside his mind, Dexter immediately commander
"System. Transfer Grand Cosmos Scripture."
[Ding Imparting Processing.
Unlike ordinary techniques— a Seventh-Tier Technique could not simply be taught verbally.
It needed direct transmission.l to be imparted.
That was why the old man had been so horrified earlier.
Techniques of this level were typically shared through controlled rituals and secretly.
Dexter learning the technique simply by observing... without direct imparting was monstrous. It meant he had done something nearly impossible, had achieved in hours what should have taken years or decades.
A faint light appeared around Dexter’s hand. Then— the information transferred directly into Mira’s consciousness.
Mira’s eyes immediately widened, then slowly closed, her eyelids fluttering as a torrent of information flooded her mind.
Seeing the process succeed— Dexter moved toward Lyra.
She quietly set aside the bag of chips, then obediently closed her eyes.
Dexter placed his palm against her forehead, feeling the warmth of her skin beneath his fingers.
’Transfer Grand Cosmos Scripture.’
The second transfer began. Countless streams of information entered her consciousness, her body going rigid for a moment before relaxing as she adapted to the influx.
Then finally, Selene.
Dexter approached carefully, aware that she was the most guarded of the three.
This time, Selene didn’t flinch when he touched her, didn’t pull away or tense up at his approach.
Which immediately caught Dexter’s attention. That was progress.
Without wasting time, he transferred the technique into her as well, and then— silence.
All three girls remained completely motionless, eyes shut, their bodies perfectly still except for the slow rise and fall of their breathing.
Forty minutes, passed
Finally, after nearly an hour, all three slowly opened their eyes one by one.
And the moment they did— Dexter immediately noticed something strange.
All three expressions had changed.
Instead, their expressions had become deadly serious.
All three stared directly at him, their eyes unblinking and their faces froze as they stared dumbfoundedly at him.
It was as though they were looking at something they could not comprehend.
As if staring at a monster.
Or worse— a demon.
Dexter blinked, suddenly uncomfortable under their combined gaze. "...Why are you all looking at me like that?"
None of them answered immediately.
Because right now, their minds were in absolute chaos.
The technique they had just received... was real, a genuine, complete, Seventh-Tier Cultivation Technique.
And that made absolutely no sense.
Tier Seven techniques... were practically myths. Stories told to young cultivators to inspire them, to give them something to aspire to, even if they never had any realistic hope of achieving such heights.
Across the entire city— the strongest known cultivation technique was only Tier Five. And it belonged to the most powerful family in the city, the Colwell Family, whose influence extended into every aspect of supernatural society.
Even then— the Colwell Family guarded that technique jealously. Only the family head was allowed to cultivate it.
Other members, no matter how loyal or talented, were restricted to Tier Four techniques at best.
The secret of the Tier Five technique was perhaps the most closely guarded piece of knowledge in the entire region.
Yet now— Dexter had casually handed them something two entire levels higher. Something far beyond anything their families possessed.
Their thoughts spiraled wildly, each trying to make sense of something that defied sense.
Who exactly is Dexter?
Where did he get this?
How is this possible?
For a long time now— they had suspected Dexter wasn’t ordinary. His sudden growth in strength, his strange abilities that seemed to appear from nowhere and other wierd things but they hadn’t care at all.
But now— all doubts disappeared.
Dexter was hiding insane. And their must be a massive problem organization behind him.
And suddenly, for the second time this week, all three girls began seeing him differently.
At that moment, the three girls came to the exact same conclusion.
Their husband... was far, far more terrifying than they had ever imagined.
