Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Report About Twin Pirates

Yue Yue touched her lips, which were tingling and swollen like two ripe, over-polished cherries.

"What are you, a dog?" she mumbled, giving Han Soi a small, ineffective smack on his muscular arm.

"Who bites people on the lips like that? You’re going to make people think I’ve been stung by a polluted bee!"

She tried to look angry, pulling her brows together in a fierce scowl, but her gemstone eyes were shimmering with a shyness she couldn’t hide. Her face was still radiating heat from his possessive display in front of the camera.

Han Soi didn’t look remorseful at all. He leaned against the counter, his smirk widening into something dark and dangerously handsome.

"What can I do?" he teased, his voice dropping an octave. "My wife is so sweet, I couldn’t resist taking a big bite of her. In fact..."

He straightened up, his eyes narrowing as he leaned in again, clearly planning to take a "second helping" of his dessert. Yue Yue’s breath hitched, her heart doing a frantic tap-dance against her ribs.

Ahem!

A sharp, awkward cough echoed from the doorway.

Yue Yue’s eyes went wide. Her face turned a shade of red that actually made the previous "tomato" color look pale.

With a squeak of pure terror, she used every ounce of her formidable snake bloodline to shove Han Soi away.

Before he could even blink, she had jumped off the counter and dashed past the doorway like a streak of lightning, her footsteps thundering down the hall as she bolted for the safety of her bedroom.

Geez! Why is he such a hooligan?! She screamed in her head, slamming her door shut. I’m never coming out! Never! So embarrassing.

Back in the kitchen, the air temperature plummeted by twenty degrees. Han Soi didn’t even turn around slowly; he snapped his head back toward the culprit with eyes so cold they could have flash-frozen a sun.

Tong Yu stood at the entrance, his hand still frozen near his mouth from the cough. His legs felt like they had turned into jelly.

Just seconds ago, he had been standing there in absolute shock, his brain melting as he heard the "War God" speak cheesy, romantic lines like a character from a low-budget soap opera.

He had actually thought, Wow, the Duke has changed. He’s a gentle husband now!

The look he was currently receiving corrected that mistake immediately.

The Duke hadn’t changed at all. The bloodthirsty monster was still very much alive; he had just been wearing a "Husband" mask for a few minutes.

The icy, murderous glare Tong Yu was receiving was enough to make him want to write his will on the spot.

Tong Yu cleared his throat again, his voice regaining its professional edge as he saw the Duke’s focus shift. "Duke, we have received a confirmed report regarding the intruders in the S-Level Polluted Zone. The ones who stole the core treasure."

If someone had pointed a sword at Tong Yu’s throat, he would have stood his ground. But disturbing his Duke’s "lovey-dovey" time? He felt like he had committed a crime worse than treason.

The frustrated tension around Han Soi vanished instantly. He turned fully toward his subordinate, his eyes narrowing into sharp slits. "Who is it?" freewēbnoveℓ.com

Tong Yu hesitated for a second before replying, "It is the Twin Pirates."

Han Soi’s expression hardened like stone. His brows pulled together into a deep, dangerous furrow.

In the entire land of the four empires, the name "Twin Pirates" was a name whispered by mercenaries and high-ranking generals alike.

They were the ultimate anomaly of the deep space. They didn’t belong to the Sand, Sea, Sky, or Land Empires. They held no citizenship, their base of operations was a mystery hidden somewhere in the lawless black holes of the galaxy, and their history was a total blank.

No one knew their true faces, their combat ranks, or even their species.

The only thing the four empires knew for sure was that they were two brothers...a pair of excessively talented Orcs who could slip through the most advanced planetary shields like they were made of paper.

If they wanted something, they took it. And once they had it, they vanished into the vast space, leaving no trail for even the most advanced technology to track.

"The Twins..." Han Soi muttered, his voice dropping into a dark, low register.

His heart sank slightly. He knew that if the treasure had fallen into their hands, getting it back would be nearly impossible.

They were the only ones in the interstellar world who could outrun a most capable orc elite fleet without breaking a sweat.

"Show me the visual data," Han Soi commanded, his tone brooking no argument.

Tong Yu swiped his finger across his holographic terminal, projecting several blue-tinted screens into the air between them.

Han Soi began to slide through the images with aggressive speed, his eyes scanning every pixel of the blurred surveillance footage from the polluted zone.

Suddenly, his hand froze.

He zoomed in on a grainy shot of a black-hooded figure caught in a moment of spatial jumping. On the sleeve of the dark robe, a familiar, glowing rune was carved. It looked like a twisted double helix intertwined with a spear.

"That’s it," Han Soi whispered, his gaze turning icy. "The mark of the Twin Space Pirates."

The realization made the situation even more complicated. These weren’t just common thieves; they were masters of spatial technology and high-level combat.

For them to show up in an S-level zone specifically to snatch the core meant they were either working for someone very powerful or they just wanted to snatch it for themselves.

And if they had actually come to steal it, that means the core treasure was a very important item, and he would never allow anyone to have his things.

"Track the trajectory of their jump again," Han Soi ordered, his mind already calculating the nearest places. "If they are as bold as the rumors say, they won’t stay hidden for long. They like the thrill of the chase."

Tong Yu bowed his head. "We are trying, Duke. But their space jump technology is unlike anything we have in our database. It’s almost like they aren’t even from this star system."
