Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Appearance of S-level Polluted Zone

Yue Yue froze, her fork halfway to her mouth. "Lulu... did I just see that right?"

Lulu’s eyes flickered rapidly. "Confirmed, Young Madam. 100 billion Star Coins have been deposited into your streamer account. It is a record-breaking donation."

Yue Yue’s eyes widened until they were like saucers. 100 billion?! She could buy a whole planet with that!

She immediately looked into the camera, giving a bright, dazzling smile that probably caused a few thousand orcs to faint. "Thank you so much to... Mr. Ghost! Since you are the first big supporter, this steak is yours!"

She turned to Lulu. "Can we really send it?"

Lulu nodded. "We can use the high-speed spatial delivery drone. It will arrive in minutes."

Yue Yue waved at the hovering ball. "Mr. Ghost, please message me your address right now! I will pack this up and send it to your location immediately. Thank you for the support!"

She was so excited about the money that she didn’t stop to think about who "Ghost" might be or why someone would spend a fortune just for a piece of meat. She only knew one thing: she was officially rich.

Yue Yue flashed a bright, dazzling smile at the camera. "Make sure to try this recipe at home if you can! It’s really good for your health and tastes even better!"

She gave a final, energetic wave to the millions of viewers watching her. "That’s all for today! Goodbye, everyone!"

As the screen went black, the entire Star Net fell into a state of collective withdrawal. In homes across the empire, orcs jumped up from their seats, staring at their blank terminals in dissatisfaction.

They didn’t want the stream to end! They wanted to watch this beautiful, mysterious female all day.

A female who was not only stunning but could actually cook? She was a treasure that the empire hadn’t seen in centuries.

However, just before Yue Yue had cut the feed, the comment section had been scrolling with a new, terrifying topic.

"Did you guys hear? A new S-level polluted zone just appeared!"

"It’s right inside the empire’s territory, near the civilian sectors!"

"An S-rank zone? That’s a death sentence for anyone nearby. The military is already scrambling!"

Yue Yue, however, was too busy being excited about her first sale to notice the news. She didn’t have a clue that a major disaster was brewing close by.

"Lulu, quick! We need to pack this while it’s still hot!" she said, her eyes sparkling with the thought of her 100 billion star coins.

With Lulu’s precision, the steak was placed in a high-tech, vacuum-sealed thermal container.

Yue Yue opened her direct messages and found a single, short message from the user ’Ghost.’ It contained a set of coordinates for a private landing pad in the upper district.

She didn’t think much about the strange name or the mysterious address. She was just a businesswoman fulfilling an order.

"Everything is set," Lulu reported, placing the parcel into the delivery drone’s compartment.

"The drone is authorized for high-speed transit. It will reach the destination in exactly two minutes."

"Perfect!" Yue Yue clapped her hands, watching the drone zip out of the window port and disappear into the sky. "Our first customer is served!"

She leaned back against the kitchen counter, feeling a sense of immense accomplishment. She had successfully earned her first money in this new world.

She had always been an independent female, as her mother thought her; even as a child, she was never idle, learning almost everything under her mother’s and father’s care because from childhood, she was almost obsessed with money and precious items.

Until her pocket was not bulging with money, she wouldn’t be able to sleep peacefully.

She had no idea that while she was celebrating, the parcel was heading straight toward one of the most dangerous men in the empire.

Nor did she realize that the "S-level polluted zone" everyone was talking about was exactly the kind of "dead ground" she needed for her system quest.

Yue Yue was practically glowing. She sat on the edge of the bed, staring at her terminal as the numbers refreshed. After the platform took its cut and the taxes were processed, she still had 80 billion star coins sitting in her account.

She felt like a billionaire. She was so excited she almost wanted to start a second live stream immediately, but she stopped herself. If I show up too often, I won’t be a mystery anymore, she thought wisely. I have to keep them wanting more.

Her celebration was cut short when the door hissed open.

Han Soi walked in, but he didn’t look like the proud, powerful orc he usually was. His face was pale, and his expression was filled with a deep, heavy worry.

The moment he saw Yue Yue, he walked over and took her hands in his.

"Yue Yue," he said, his voice low and strained.

She immediately sensed the shift in the air. Her smile faded. "What happened, Han Soi? Why do you look like that?"

He didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he pulled her into the center of the room, as if he wanted to make sure they were completely alone. He looked at her with a gaze so intense it made her heart skip a beat.

"I have to go," he said. "I have to leave for a few days."

Yue Yue was stunned. The happiness from her successful stream vanished instantly. She felt a cold wave of anxiety wash over her.

"You’re leaving? Where? Am I staying here alone?"

She didn’t want to be away from him. In this strange, dangerous world, Han Soi was her only pillar of support. Without him, she was just a "nameless female" in a house full of people who didn’t like her.

Han Soi’s expression crumbled at her restless look. He reached out, gently grazing her cheek with his knuckles. His touch was lingering, as if he was trying to memorize the feel of her skin.

"I am so sorry, Yue Yue," he whispered. "But a new S-level polluted zone has appeared. It is right on the edge of the empire’s civilization base. If it isn’t contained, it could expand and swallow everything. It is a direct mission from the Emperor himself." ƒreewebɳovel.com

He explained that because it was an S-rank threat, every S-rank or above-rank orc in the empire was required to go. It was a duty no one could refuse, not even him.

"Even that bastard brother of mine has to go," Han Soi said, his eyes darkening for a moment.

That was the only reason he felt even slightly okay with leaving. If his brother was on the battlefield, he couldn’t be here bothering Yue Yue.

He also knew his father, Han Qiaone, would protect her while he was gone. Not because the old man liked her, but because Han Qiaone knew that if anything happened to Yue Yue, Han Soi would never forgive him, and the clan needed its strongest heir.

"I have to go," Han Soi repeated, pulling her into a tight, desperate hug. "But I will come back. I promise. Stay inside the estate. Don’t go anywhere. Just wait for me."
