Yue Yue slowly opened her eyes, her long lashes fluttering against her cheeks.
The soft, warm light of the room welcomed her gently. She checked her body carefully and was surprised to find that she felt quite fine.
There was no pain at all after giving birth. Her strength had returned quickly, as if her body had been cared for with the best healing the Sea Empire could offer.
Her eyes immediately searched around the spacious, elegant room. She wanted to see her children.
After the exhausting delivery, she had fallen into a deep sleep and could not remember what had happened afterward.
Just as she tried to sit up, a strong yet gentle hand supported her back and helped her settle comfortably against the soft pillows.
Yue Yue looked up and saw Han Soi standing beside the bed. He had just come out from the small attached room where the cubs were resting.
A small, shocked smile bloomed on her face. "You are here all the time?"
Han Soi nodded, his deep voice warm and steady. "How could I leave you? I stayed here to take care of you and our little ones."
Yue Yue’s heart fluttered at his words. She reached out and gently touched his arm.
"Such a caring husband... Where would I find someone like you?"
Han Soi smiled softly, but the tips of his ears turned a faint red. He smoothed the stray strands of hair that had fallen across her face with careful fingers. "Then you have to cherish me more."
Yue Yue’s eyes sparkled with mischief and affection. She pulled him a little closer. "Of course. Just as my dear husband said."
She puckered her lips into an adorable pout, clearly asking for a kiss.
Han Soi could not help but chuckle, the low sound rich and tender. He leaned down and gave her a light peck on her pouting lips.
But when Yue Yue started to pull back playfully, Han Soi gently held the back of her head. "It can’t end with just that peck. That’s not enough, Yue Yue."
Before she could tease him again, he captured her lips in a deep, loving kiss. The kiss was slow and passionate, filled with all the worry and relief he had felt while watching over her.
Yue Yue’s mind went pleasantly dizzy. She melted into him, her fingers curling into the fabric of his clothes as she kissed him back with equal warmth.
When they finally separated, both of them were breathing a little faster. Han Soi’s intense eyes stayed fixed on her face, as if he could not look away even for a second.
His gaze was full of adoration, making Yue Yue’s cheeks flush softly.
"You look even more beautiful after resting," he murmured, his thumb gently brushing her lower lip.
"I was so worried about you. Seeing you safe and smiling like this... it makes my heart feel full."
Yue Yue smiled shyly, her eyes shining. "I’m sorry for making you worry. But I’m really fine now. Thanks to you staying by my side the whole time."
Han Soi shook his head lightly and sat on the edge of the bed, still holding her hand.
"You don’t need to thank me. Taking care of you and our cubs is what I want to do for the rest of my life."
He leaned in again, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead, then to the tip of her nose, and finally back to her lips in a quick, sweet peck.
Yue Yue giggled softly, the sound light and happy.
"Stop spoiling me so much," she teased, though her voice was full of joy. "If you keep being this sweet, I might never want to leave this bed."
Han Soi’s lips curved into a rare, charming smile. "Then don’t leave. Stay here with me. Let me hold you a little longer."
Yue Yue pretended to think about it, tilting her head cutely. "Hmm... only if you promise to kiss me properly again."
Without hesitation, Han Soi pulled her closer and kissed her once more. This time the kiss was deeper, slower, and filled with quiet promises.
Yue Yue’s heart fluttered wildly in her chest. She felt completely cherished, completely loved in his strong arms.
When they parted again, Han Soi rested his forehead gently against hers. "I love seeing you like this...happy, safe, and with our children nearby. You have given me a family I never thought I could have."
Yue Yue’s eyes softened with emotion. She cupped his face with both hands, her thumbs brushing his cheeks. "And you have given me strength and love I never knew I needed. You’re my home now, Han Soi."
He kissed her palms one by one, his voice low and sincere. "Then let me be your home forever. No matter what happens, I will always be right here beside you."
The atmosphere in the room felt warm and intimate, like the whole world had narrowed down to just the two of them.
Yue Yue leaned into his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart. Han Soi wrapped his arms around her protectively, one hand gently stroking her back.
After a quiet moment, Yue Yue whispered playfully, "Now that I’m awake... can I see our cubs? I missed them already."
Han Soi chuckled softly and nodded. "Of course. They are sleeping peacefully in the next room. But first, let me hold you for a little longer. Just a few more minutes like this."
