The pain hit Yue Yue like a sudden tidal wave.
One moment she was angry at Xing Luoye, and the next, her world was spinning with the force of a contraction. Her grip on his shoulders became like iron, and her face went white.

"Guards! Call the healers! Call everyone!" Xing Luoye roared toward the door. His voice was so loud it shook the crystals in the ceiling.
Within minutes, the room was full of people. Han Soi, Feng Yanshen, and Cang Yuze burst through the doors. They had heard the roar and knew exactly what was happening. Behind them, the High Healer arrived, panting and clutching his instruments.
"Out! Everyone out!" the High Healer cried, but he was immediately met with the fierce glares of three SSS-rank males.
"I am not leaving her side," Xing Luoye growled, kneeling by the bed and clutching Yue Yue’s hand so tightly his knuckles were white.
Feng Yanshen stepped forward, his expression cold but his eyes showing deep concern.
"The healer will stay behind the screen. We will handle the physical assistance. No other male will touch her."
High Healer: "...?"
The High Healer trembled. He realized he was not even allowed to look at the female. He quickly set up a tall, decorative screen.
"Very well! I will guide you from here! High Priest, please check the dilation! Prince Cang Yuze, prepare the warm water and the clean linens!"
Yue Yue felt another contraction, but as the System promised, the sharp, biting pain suddenly turned into a dull, heavy pressure.
She wasn’t screaming, but she decided to play along a little bit. She screwed up her eyes and let out a soft moan, twisting her legs.
"It hurts!" she whispered, though she actually felt quite comfortable, thanks to the System’s protection.
"I am sorry! I am so sorry, Yue Yue!" Xing Luoye cried. He was actually on the verge of tears. He pressed his forehead against her hand. "It is my fault. I made you go through this pain. I am a beast! I am a demon! Please, just hold on!"
Cang Yuze was running back and forth with towels, his face pale. "Yue Yue, breathe! Just like the books say! Breathe in and out!"
Yue Yue really wanted to tell them that they should breathe more, as it looks like they are the one who is going to give birth.
"Push now, Lady Yue!" the Healer shouted from behind the screen.
Feng Yanshen and Han Soi moved with practiced grace. Despite their jealousy and their status, they worked together perfectly to help her. Han Soi supported her back, while Feng Yanshen used his light energy to keep her strength up.
Suddenly, a loud, sharp cry filled the room. It wasn’t the sound of a baby crying...but a high-pitched bird cry.
Cang Yuze reached down and caught the small, wet bundle. He cleaned it quickly with a warm cloth, but then he froze. His hands stopped moving, and his jaw dropped.
"What is it?" Xing Luoye asked, his voice shaking. "Is he healthy? Is it a cub?"
Cang Yuze turned around, holding a small creature that was definitely not a phoniex or a snake. It was a tiny, fuzzy creature with the body of a lion cub and the wings and beak of an eagle. It was a Griffin.
"A... a Griffin?" Han Soi whispered, his eyes wide with shock. "That is a divine, ancient clan. They have been extinct for hundreds of years!"
The room went deathly silent. Everyone stared at the small, wet Griffin baby.
Everyone’s gaze snapped towards Xing Luoye as they looked at him with new profound eyes. Only the high priest was calm; he had always known the race of Xing Luoye.
The High Healer’s voice came from behind the screen, trembling with awe. "A Griffin? I am... I am assisting the birth of a Royal Griffin? This is a miracle from the gods!"
But there was no time to celebrate. "There is another one!" Feng Yanshen called out.
Yue Yue gave one last, powerful push. The System pulsed a golden light through her body, making the process quick and easy. A second cry filled the room...this one softer and more melodic.
Cang Yuze cleaned the second baby. "It’s a girl!" he exclaimed. "A beautiful female... and she is also a Griffin!"
The men were in a trance. Two divine Griffin cubs. This was enough to change the power balance of the entire world.
Feng Yanshen and Han Soi immediately moved to shield Yue Yue and the babies, their possessive instincts flaring up. They didn’t even let the healer come close to see the female cub.
Cang Yuze was assigned to wrap the cubs in soft furs, while Han Soi and Feng Yanshen cleaned Yue Yue and made sure she was comfortable.
Xing Luoye, however, could not move. He stayed kneeling on the floor, his face buried in the side of the mattress.
He was sobbing quietly. "I am sorry... I am so sorry for leaving you... I will never leave again... I will protect you and our cubs forever..."
Yue Yue looked down at the top of his head. She was tired, but she felt a huge sense of joy. Seeing this powerful, empire-destroying man reduced to a puddle of tears in front of her was too much. She looked at his trembling shoulders and almost burst out laughing.
"Luoye," she said, her voice teasing. "If you keep crying, the babies will think their father is a big baby too."

A soft chime echoed gently in Yue Yue’s mind, far calmer than before.
