"The Second Prince of the Land Empire was found this morning," Han Soi mumbled, his voice sounding like cold stone. "He was hung in front of his own palace. His head was cut off and displayed for everyone to see. It was a brutal and terrifying sight."
Yue Yue gasped and covered her mouth with her hands. She couldn’t believe it. The Second Prince was a powerful man, but he had been slaughtered like an animal.
"It did not stop with him," Han Soi continued, scrolling through the images of destruction.
"His entire group of followers and his private pupils were killed. Every single person who supported his climb to power was wiped out in a single night. The palace is covered in blood."
Yue Yue’s heart hammered against her ribs. "Do you think... do you think Xing Luoye did this?" she whispered.
Han Soi gave her a long, dark look. He nodded slowly. "Who else could it be? The Second Prince was the one who poisoned Xing Luoye and Xing Luoguang. He thought he could kill them both and take the throne. He knew he could not beat them in a fair fight, so he used the King Scorpion venom. He didn’t expect them to recover."
