After a few minutes, the green light faded away. The High Healer opened his eyes and let out a long breath. He looked at the black blood on the floor and then back at the patient on the bed.
"The danger has passed," the High Healer said in a calm, gravelly voice. "His body was just fighting the last of the poison. That black blood was the core of the King Scorpion’s venom leaving his body."
Yue Yue felt like she could finally breathe again. She wiped her eyes with her sleeve. "Is he really okay now? Is his life no longer in danger?" she asked with a shaky voice.
The High Healer nodded his head slowly. "He is alright. His condition is becoming very good. In fact, his internal core is healing faster than I expected. He is a very strong warrior."
Cang Yuze wiped the sweat from his own forehead. He felt a huge sense of relief. All his hard work in the laboratory had finally paid off.

After the High Healer left, the room became very quiet. Xing Luoye was sleeping deeply, and his breathing was now soft and steady.

"Come," Cang Yuze whispered, reaching for her hand. "Let’s go to my wing of the palace. I need to rest, and I want you nearby."

He walked over to the bed and immediately laid his head down on Yue Yue’s lap. He let out a long sigh and closed his eyes.
Yue Yue felt a surge of affection for him. She began to gently roam her fingers through his long, silky locks of hair. She looked at his sleeping face, tracing the line of his jaw and his peaceful brow. Even though he was a powerful prince in this world, she knew there was more to his story.
She had been debating with herself for a long time about whether to ask him. The System had told her some things, but it wasn’t the same as hearing it from him. She wanted to know the truth about how he ended up here, in this strange world.
"Zeze?" she asked softly, her voice barely a whisper in the quiet room.
Cang Yuze didn’t open his eyes, but he reached up and took her fingers in his hand. He began to play with them gently, rubbing his thumb over her knuckles. "Yes, Yue Yue? What is on your mind?"
"How come you are here?" she asked, her heart beating a little faster. "I mean... how did you come to this world? I know you were born here in the Sea Empire, but you remember our old world, don’t you? How did it happen?"
Cang Yuze stayed silent for a moment. He slowly opened his eyes and looked up at her. His gaze was very deep and serious.
"Yue Yue, there are things about your family that you never knew. Do you know that your mother always knew you would face a great calamity on your 18th birthday?"
Yue Yue’s eyes widened in total shock. She stopped moving her fingers. "My mother knew? How could she know something like that?"
"Almost everyone in your family knew," Cang Yuze said, his voice calm and steady.
