Chapter 230: Chapter 230: Stay With Me... For Our Children

Xiao Bai was very desperate to prove his love. He would hiss softly and curl himself tightly around her arm or lap, refusing to move even an inch. He was so clingy and affectionate that Yue Yue started to feel guilty for teasing him.

"Okay, okay, I know you love me," she giggled, kissing the top of his smooth head. Xiao Bai would then settle into her lap, nodding off to sleep while she stroked his scales.

Her pregnancy was also moving very fast. In this world, most races only carried their young for about a month. It had already been twenty days. Her stomach was now very round and heavy.

When she was pregnant with Xiao Bai, she was small, but now she was carrying twins. Her belly was swinging and much larger this time. She could feel the two little lives moving inside her, strong and active.

She spent her days resting in the gardens with Han Soi and Xiao Bai, waiting for the laboratory door to open. She knew that in ten more days, she would give birth again. She hoped that by then, Xing Luoye would be well to see his children.

The palace felt peaceful, but the countdown was beginning. Everything depended on the medicine Cang Yuze was creating in the dark.

Finally, after an entire week had passed, the heavy doors of the laboratory swung open. Cang Yuze stepped out, looking exhausted but with eyes that were shining like bright stars.

Yue Yue was not far away in the hallway. When she saw him, she let out a small cry of joy.

Cang Yuze did not wait at all. He rushed forward, picked her up by the waist, and spun her around in a dizzying circle.

"Yue Yue! I finally made it!" he screamed with pure excitement. "The antidote is a success! We can save him!"

Yue Yue was happy, but she suddenly felt her head spinning. She was heavily pregnant, and her stomach was very large. Being spun around made her feel like she was going to vomit everything she had eaten for breakfast.

Feng Yanshen’s eyes darkened instantly as he watched them. He was furious. He stepped forward and grabbed Cang Yuze’s shoulder with a very strong grip, forcing him to stop.

"Can’t you see?" Feng Yanshen growled in a deep, threatening voice. "She is pregnant, you fool! How dare you shake her like that?"

Cang Yuze froze. He suddenly looked down at Yue Yue’s bulging stomach and realized how big it had become in just one week. He was filled with guilt, and his face turned red.

"Yue Yue, I am so sorry!" he said quickly. He began to stroke her round stomach gently. "I was just too excited. I didn’t hurt the cubs, right? Are you okay? Does it hurt anywhere?"

Yue Yue laughed at his silly and worried expression. She patted his hand to calm him down. "No, nothing hurts. It is fine. The babies are also very happy. I just felt a little dizzy, that’s all."

But her smile faded as she thought of the patient waiting in the other room. "We must go to him now," she said in a worried tone.

"Xing Luoye is becoming weaker every day. He only wakes up for a few hours before falling back into a deep sleep."

Cang Yuze nodded seriously. He went back into the lab for a moment and brought out a small, elegant tray with a glowing vial of medicine. They walked quickly to Xing Luoye’s bedroom.

When Yue Yue stepped inside, her heart clenched with pain. Xing Luoye was lying on the bed, looking incredibly pale. He looked like he was at death’s door, with one foot already in the grave.

He was so calm and peaceful, but his skin looked sickly and thin. Cang Yuzain had told her before that without the antidote, the poison would slowly eat his life away. Even the suppressing potions were starting to lose their power.

If they didn’t give him the medicine now, he would simply fall asleep and never wake up again. It was a quiet death, but it was terrifying to think about.

"Please," Yue Yue whispered, her eyes filling with tears as she looked at her husband. "Please save him now."

Cang Yuze sat on the edge of the bed. He carefully lifted Xing Luoye’s head and prepared to pour the glowing liquid into his mouth.

Everyone held their breath, praying that the long week of hard work would finally bring him back to them.

Cang Yuze did not waste any time. He carefully poured the glowing antidote into Xing Luoye’s mouth. Everyone stood around the bed in total silence, watching and waiting for a sign of life.

At first, nothing happened. But then, the peaceful expression on Xing Luoye’s face vanished. He began to twitch violently. A look of extreme pain appeared on his pale features, and his brow furrowed deeply.

His eyes slowly opened, but they were unfocused and hazy. He let out a low, pained groan that made Yue Yue’s heart break. It looked like he was fighting a war inside his own body.

"Xing Luoye!" Yue Yue cried out, reaching for his hand. She was terrified. She thought the medicine was supposed to make him feel better, not put him in more pain. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

Suddenly, Xing Luoye sat up with a sudden jerk. He leaned over the side of the bed and coughed very hard. A large amount of thick, black blood splattered onto the white floor.

Yue Yue’s eyes widened to the size of saucers. She felt like her own breath had stopped.

Cang Yuze’s face turned very serious. He grabbed Xing Luoye’s pulse and felt the frantic beating of his heart. "The antidote is working," he muttered. "It is forcing the old venom out of his system."

But even Cang Yuze looked a bit worried. The reaction was much stronger than he had expected. "Why is it having such a huge effect?" he whispered to himself.

He turned to a guard at the door and shouted, "Go! Call the High Healer immediately! I need a second opinion on his core stability. We must ensure his heart can handle this purge!"

The guard ran out of the room at top speed. Xing Luoye collapsed back onto the pillows, gasping for air. His face was still ghostly white, but the black veins on his neck were starting to fade.

Yue Yue sat on the edge of the bed and wiped the blood from his lips with a soft cloth. Her hands were shaking. "Stay with me," she whispered. "You have to stay strong for the babies."

Xing Luoye’s hand twitched and weakly gripped hers. He couldn’t speak yet, but his eyes were starting to clear. He looked at her round stomach and let out a tiny, shaky breath.
