Chapter 218: Chapter 218: I Think I’m Pregnant
Cang Yuze, meanwhile, felt a strange sense of irony.
For the first time in his life, he mentally patted his "useless" younger brother on the back. He thought to himself that Cang Yuzain had finally done something right. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
If it weren’t for his brother’s interference and that suppressant, Yue Yue might never have felt the need to come to the Sea Empire. He might never have met her at all.
With how detached he had been from the world lately, he had spent all his energy searching for his "Yue Yue" in every hidden corner of the universe. He had spent nights staring at inconspicuous stars, wondering where she could be.
He had heard the rumors, of course.
He knew that this year, the Temple had found a legendary female with a high S+++ ranking. But he hadn’t cared. To him, rankings and titles meant nothing; he only wanted the girl who had occupied his heart.
He felt a pang of regret now. If he had just watched the news or paid a little more attention to the Temple’s announcements, he would have realized much sooner that the "precious female" the whole world was talking about was his Yue Yue.
He could have found her months ago.
Seeing her sitting there now...the most precious person in the entire world...he realized how lucky he was that destiny had brought her to his doorstep anyway.
"Thank you," Yue Yue said, her eyes shining with gratitude.
Cang Yuze reached out and gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Don’t thank me," he said softly. "Anything you want, I will provide."
The room had fallen into a comfortable rhythm, but Han Soi remained unusually quiet. He sat right beside Yue Yue, his sharp eyes tracking every movement of her chopsticks.
He realized something startling: Yue Yue was eating significantly more than her usual portion.
Over the last month, her appetite seemed to have doubled.
He watched her reach for another piece of fish and wondered if her diet had simply changed or if she loved Cang Yuze’s cooking that much.
If it was the latter, Han Soi made a silent mental note to learn these recipes from Cang Yuze. He didn’t care about his pride as a warrior; if these dishes made her happy, he would learn to master it himself. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
However, he then noticed that Yue Yue was subconsciously patting her stomach every few minutes. Her hand would rest there, rubbing gently as if she were uncomfortable.
Without a word, Han Soi reached out. His large, warm hand covered her small one, pressing against her stomach.
"Yue Yue, is your stomach uncomfortable?" he asked, his voice low and filled with concern.
Yue Yue almost jumped out of her chair at the sudden contact. Her heart hammered against her ribs as she looked at him.
"Why... why do you ask?" she stammered.
"You are touching it constantly," Han Soi replied simply, his hand not moving.
Yue Yue’s face flushed a deep crimson. She looked down at the table, then at the four men watching her, before she finally mumbled, "I... I think my appetite has increased so much because..."
She took a deep breath and blurted out the words that changed everything. Because she really didn’t think that she had any reason to hide it. It would be better if they knew about it.
"I think I’m pregnant."
The silence that followed was deafening.
Jaws dropped across the table. The air in the room seemed to freeze as four pairs of eyes widened in absolute shock.
The first sound to break the silence was the clatter of wood against the floor. Xing Luoye’s chopsticks had slipped from his numb fingers. He sat frozen, his face pale, his eyes fixed on Yue Yue’s stomach.
Feng Yanshen was the first to move. He slammed his chopsticks onto the table with a loud thud.
Without a word, he stood up, walked around the table, and grabbed Xing Luoye by the collar, dragging him toward the door.
"No! Yanshen, stop!" Yue Yue screamed, half-rising from her seat. "He is still poisoned! Don’t hurt him!"
Feng Yanshen stopped at the doorway and turned back. He flashed a dangerously bright, sweet smile at her...the kind of smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
"Baby... I won’t do anything to him," he said smoothly, his voice dripping with false innocence. "We are just going to go outside for a little talk. We’ll be right back."
With that, he hauled a stunned Xing Luoye out into the hallway.
Xing Luoye didn’t even struggle. His mind was spinning. He had suspected it, but hearing it from her mouth made his heart feel like it was stopping.
His gaze couldn’t leave her stomach even as he was being dragged away.
But the deepest, most terrifying question in his heart remained: Did she know?
Did she know it was him that night and not his brother?
And despite that... she still wanted to keep the child?
His heart skipped a beat, a mixture of terror and an overwhelming, soul-deep warmth flooding through him just as the door slammed shut behind them.
As the door slammed shut, the tension in the room remained thick, but Han Soi didn’t let it affect him.
He saw how distressed Yue Yue looked and immediately pulled her toward him, letting her sit firmly on his lap.
"Don’t worry about them," Han Soi said, his deep voice acting like an anchor. "They are males. They will just have a quick chat and be back soon."
He gently caressed her back to calm her mood, his large hand moving in soothing circles. His gaze softened as it landed on her belly.
"Is your stomach feeling okay now?" he asked, his hand shifting to cup her abdomen with extreme care. "Should we go to the doctor to check on the baby?"
Internally, Han Soi was overwhelmed with a quiet, fierce joy.
He had missed the period when she was pregnant with their first cub, and it was a regret he carried deeply.
Now that she was pregnant again, he felt a surge of protectiveness.
He wanted to witness every moment, every kick, and every change. He wanted to be the one to take care of her this time.
