Chapter 114: Chapter 114: The Moment Han Soi Lost Her Trust

She remembered everything he had said in the nest. He had helped her during her estrus. He had seen her at her weakest. And now, because of her, he had been beaten and humiliated in front of his own servants. Everything he had said was right. He had no one else.

"I’m so sorry," Yue Yue whispered, her hands shaking as she wiped the blood from his lip.

She looked at Han Soi, who was still struggling against the guards, and then back at the bleeding man in her lap.

She realized she couldn’t just throw him away. He was right. She had touched his soul, and she had to take responsibility for him.

She couldn’t let him die a lonely, broken death after she had been the one to pull him back from the edge.

Feng Yanshen continued to lean into Yue Yue, playing his role perfectly. He acted so wronged and fragile that he was completely different from his usual cold and holy image.

The temple servants standing around were absolutely stunned. Was this really their arrogant High Priest? But they quickly convinced themselves that the love of an S+++ female could change any man, even a living god like him.

Now, it wasn’t just Feng Yanshen looking at Yue Yue with pitiful eyes. All the temple servants and guards were looking at her with the same pleading expression. It was as if they were all silently begging her to take responsibility for their broken leader.

Han Soi was fuming. He was shaking with so much rage that his vision was turning blurry.

He couldn’t believe his eyes. Was this the same man who had tried to kill him? Was this the same man who looked down on everyone from his high throne?

He couldn’t believe the High Priest would swallow his pride and literally beg a female to make him her husband.

"Yue Yue, don’t believe him!" Han Soi shouted, his voice echoing through the forest.

"He is the High Priest! Who would ever dare to look down on him? He is just manipulating you! He’s a liar! Don’t be fooled by his acting!"

Han Soi tried to push past the guards, but they held him tight. He was desperate to pull Yue Yue away from that snake-like man. "He’s faking it, Yue Yue! Look at him!"

But Feng Yanshen knew exactly what he was doing. Just as Yue Yue turned to look at Han Soi, Feng Yanshen’s body suddenly swayed. He let out a soft, weak groan, and his eyes rolled back as he fell directly onto Yue Yue’s lap.

"High Priest!" Wei Han screamed in terror.

In an instant, everyone’s attention snapped away from Han Soi’s warnings and back to the "unconscious" man.

Nobody listened to a single word Han Soi said. To the servants, Han Soi just looked like a jealous, violent man who was bullying a wounded soul.

Yue Yue panicked, catching Feng Yanshen’s heavy head. "Feng Yanshen! Wake up! Wei Han, help him!"

However, only Han Soi...who was standing at just the right angle...saw what really happened.

For a split second, before Feng Yanshen "fainted" completely, he opened one eye. He looked directly at Han Soi and flashed a chilly smile. It was a look of pure victory. It was a smile that said, "I won, and you’re nothing."

Then, just as quickly, he went limp again, faking his unconsciousness perfectly.

Han Soi was so angry he wanted to scream until his lungs gave out. He wanted to kick the man on the ground and pull him up by his hair to show everyone the truth. This man wasn’t a victim; he was the slyest, most dangerous manipulator in the universe.

"You bastard!" Han Soi roared, but the servants only pushed him further away.

"Young Duke, have you no shame?" Wei Han snapped, looking at Han Soi with disgust.

"You have already beaten him to this state. Let the Lady care for him in peace!"

Yue Yue looked at Han Soi with a complicated and slightly disappointed gaze. "Han Soi, stop it. He’s already hurt enough."

Han Soi felt like his heart had been stabbed.

He watched as Yue Yue gently stroked the "unconscious" man’s hair, falling deeper and deeper into the trap.

Han Soi looked at Yue Yue, and for the first time, his fierce, warrior-like spirit seemed to break.

His gaze was filled with such deep sadness that it felt like he was choking on his own heart. He thought to himself, So this is what it feels like to lose the favor of your female.

He always knew Yue Yue was an outstanding female. He knew he could never be the only male in her life forever.

But it cut him to the bone to think that she saw him as just a jealous, mindless orc who was beating a weak man for no reason.

Did she not trust his instincts anymore? Did she really believe that manipulator over him? fгeewebnovёl.com

Yue Yue looked up from the unconscious High Priest and met Han Soi’s eyes. Instead of the warmth he craved, he saw a stern, cold gaze.

"Han Soi, that’s enough!" she chided him, her voice sharp and disappointed.

"Look at what you’ve done. You’ve lost your control completely. Go back to the temple and reflect on your actions."

Han Soi felt like he had been slapped. The heartbreak was so sharp he couldn’t even argue.

Without saying a single word, he immediately turned around and vanished into the thick forest, his shoulders slumped in defeat.

As soon as he was gone, Yue Yue’s eyes filled with tears, but she quickly blinked them away and clenched her fists. She felt terrible for being so mean to him, but she had a reason.

Han Soi, I’m so sorry, she thought to herself, her heart aching. But I have to punish you myself. If I don’t act like I’m angry and handle you now, I won’t be able to save you from the temple’s punishment.

She shuddered as she remembered what the High Priest was capable of. She had seen him send hundreds of orcs to the Prison Star just because they had lost their minds during the riot.

In this empire, the High Priest was law. Han Soi had dared to lay a hand on a holy being; if the temple officially took charge of the punishment, Han Soi might never see the sun again.

By "chiding" him and sending him away, she was claiming the right to deal with her own husband, effectively protecting him from the wrath of the guards and the temple laws.

Wei Han stepped forward, looking at the tattered Feng Yanshen in her arms.

"Lady Yue Yue, we must bring the High Priest back to the Inner Sanctum immediately. His condition is very unstable."

Yue Yue nodded, her face turning back into a mask of calm. She looked down at Feng Yanshen, who was still faking his faint. She knew he was playing a game, but she had to play along to keep the peace.

"Let’s go," she said in a straightforward tone. "I will stay with him until he wakes up."

As the servants carefully lifted the High Priest onto a floating stretcher, Yue Yue followed behind, her mind already racing with how she was going to fix the mess between them.
