Chapter 469: Jinx VS Night Ghost
[Unknown World.]
[Back To The Triplets.]
The air in this uncharted dimension was thick and heavy, tasting of ozone and ancient decay. The desolate landscape stretched infinitely under a bruised, purple sky, where the foundational laws of gravity and time felt warped and unstable.
The Nine commandments looked at one another, then at Jinx:
"Does she want to fight all nine of us?" One asked in surprised, staring at Jinx, who started walking towards them. Her posture was entirely relaxed, yet an oppressive, dark primordial energy leaked from her shadow, staining the cracked earth beneath her boots.
"Seems like it." The leader said, her arms folded on her chest. She narrowed her eyes, assessing the lethal confidence radiating from the ten clones.
WHOOSH!!
"....?!"
Jinx paused, and everyone turned their heads to the space behind the Nine Commandments, and the Ghosts’ Leader, Night Ghost. The very fabric of the Unknown World tore open, jagged edges of reality sparking with unstable energy.
BOOM!
Angelina was thrown out of the gateway, she collapsed on the ground, blood and dirt all over her body, stunning Night Ghost. The spatial tear violently snapped shut behind her, cutting off the lingering scent of slaughter and ruined stone.
"Angelina?! What are you doing here?! And why do you look like this?!!" Night Ghost yelled at her, rushing to her side. For a brief second, the facade of the ruthless commander cracked, revealing genuine alarm for his subordinate.
"Leader, the Headquarters, it’s destroyed... Everyone... Everyone is dead." Angelina said, as tears rolled down her cheeks. Her aura was dangerously weak, her Life Force flickering like a dying candle in the wind. ƒrēewebnovel.com
"Dead?!! How?!" Night Ghost yelled at her in disbelief. The Headquarters was fortified with layers of ancient runic arrays and guarded by their elite assassins. It was supposed to be an impenetrable fortress.
"Three ladies came out of nowhere, and attacked us... They were too powerful."
"This?! What about the Cup?!" He asked in shock. All concern for his fallen comrades instantly evaporated, replaced by a frantic, manic desperation. The Cup of the Devil Ruler was the cornerstone of their master plan, the sacred vessel meant to hold the catalyst for the resurrection.
"Yeah. What happened to the Cup?" The Leader of the nine commandments asked with a smirk, thoroughly enjoying the sudden collapse of the Ghost faction’s arrogance.
"I... I don’t know, But the first and second ghosts sent us out, so they could fill it up... I... I don’t know what happened next." She said, her body trembling violently from both physical trauma and the sheer terror of her memories.
"Everyone was killed, then why are you here?" Night Ghost asked coldly, staring down at her. His voice had lost all trace of humanity, freezing the air around them.
"Denton... He sent me here! He said I should report what happened to you! That you’ll know what to do." She quickly added, looking up at him, desperately seeking salvation in her leader’s eyes.
"The Cup is a divine artifact! It can’t easily be destroyed by anyone... I will use you to fill it up." He said, his words stunning Angelina.
Night Ghost raised his hand, and removed the mask on his face, revealing his two now glowing red eyes. The irises had vanished entirely, replaced by pools of churning, necrotic blood magic that leaked a foul, metallic scent into the atmosphere.
"This?"
The nine commandments were stunned, taking a step back in disbelief as a suffocating pressure descended upon the battlefield.
"What is happening?" Treasure asked in confusion, her gaze failing to comprehend the sudden shift in the air’s density.
"Those eyes... They belong to the Saint of blood." The water creature exclaimed in disbelief.
"Master!! Please, spare me, I can still fight!" Angelina yelled, placing her head on the ground, frantically begging the man she had sworn her life to.
"You are better as a sacrifice."
With Night Ghost’s cold words, red light shone from his eyes, and Angelina shattered into blood, which hovered in the air for some seconds, then vanished. Her body didn’t just explode; her very essence, her life force, and her soul were forcefully extracted and teleported through the void, sent to nourish the distant, hidden artifact.
"Oh. Oh... So this was your trump card." The leader said, staring at Night Ghost. She stood before her Commandments, clearly on guard, her muscles tensed to react to the unpredictable hostility of a corrupted host.
"Don’t worry, I won’t attack you." Night Ghost turned his head towards Jinx, Lucian, Treasure, Destiny and the ancient beast.
"They are my targets." He said with a weird grin on his face. The sinister smile stretched too far across his cheeks, his mortal body struggling to contain the horrific entity possessing him.
"This bastard is possessed by the Saint of blood, so that’s why he was hesitating... Using such powers will make him vulnerable to his master." The Commandments’ leader whispered in a low voice. She knew the grim reality of demonic pacts: borrowing authority from an ancient entity slowly eroded the user’s soul until nothing but a puppet remained.
"Hey! You four, I suggest we leave this place... The Saint of blood has the power to control blood." The ancient water beast yelled at them.
"Nammu, He isn’t the Saint of blood, he’s just a Host." Jinx said, as all her ten clones spun the daggers in their grasp. The duplicates moved in perfect, lethal synchronization, unfazed by the oppressive crimson aura bleeding from their enemy.
"What can a simple host do to me!" She pointed her dagger at Night Ghost:
"Take him down."
WHOOSH!!
The Clones shot forward, rapidly closing the distance between them. Their daggers flashing under the moonlight, leaving trails of primordial energy that severed the very air they passed through.
"Is she always this reckless?" Nammu asked, gesturing to Jinx, completely baffled by the girl’s absolute disregard for a legendary threat.
"Compare to my elder brother, Senior Sister Jinx isn’t." Treasure answered, gesturing to Lucian, who was busy yawning. Despite the world-ending tension surrounding them, Lucian stood lazily with his hands resting casually at his sides, looking as though he had been rudely awakened from a nap.
"Huh? But he doesn’t look like one... He looks, lazy." Nammu said in surprised, staring at Lucian, unable to sense even a fraction of the monstrous strength hidden beneath his calm exterior.
"Yup, he’s indeed lazy." Treasure nodded with a smile, turning her gaze to the battle, her absolute faith in her siblings entirely unshaken.
"You fool! You think these clones can stop me?!!" Night Ghost yelled in pure rage, and shot forward, his eyes glowed brightly as his nails elongated into claws. The crimson magic wrapped around his limbs, drastically enhancing his physical parameters beyond the limits of his natural cultivation rank.
’This fool! If you kill my clones, they’ll simply explode with you---’ Jinx thought, a cunning, dangerous glint in her black eyes, waiting for the trap to spring.
WHOOSH!!!
Night Ghost cut off the heads of each clone, while still moving towards her. He was so fast even before the clones exploded, he was already out of the range, still heading towards the real Jinx. The volatile energy detonated behind him, sending shockwaves across the wasteland, but he ignored the blasts entirely, fixated purely on her vital signs.
"Don’t underestimate yourself!!!"
Jinx’s eyes turned fully black, and she shot forward: "I am a whole rank stronger than you!! Do you think a small boost in strength makes you my equal!!"
Her own monstrous talent flared to life. She instantly appeared in front of Night Ghost, bypassing the spatial friction completely, and swung her dagger at him. The blade was coated in a dense layer of darkness meant to sever not just flesh, but his energy pathways.
"You Bitch!!!"
Night Ghost yelled, and swung his claws forward, not backing down:
BOOOOOOM!!!!!
