Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Talking to Sect Leader [2]
"A Direct Disciple?" Damon Arcknight echoed.
"Yes, my youngest direct disciple," the Sect Leader replied.
"He is also a core member of our tournament team. He was twenty years old, he has already at the Ninth Level of the Earth Spirit Realm. He possesses immense talent."
The old man gestured broadly, as if presenting a victor. "Furthermore, he is the Captain of the team. I believe it would be in your best interest to get to know him yourself with him sooner rather than later."
Damon gave a polite nod, his expression neutral even as his mind began to calculate the strategic implications. "I understand. Sect Leader."
’A man, is it? I only hope he isn’t prone to arrogance or fueled by petty jealousy regarding the women on the team. If he shows any intent to lay claim to what is mine, he will find out what Jack and Kai will feel when they become my enemy.’ A faint smirk playing on Damon lips.
The Sect Leader sighed, his gaze softening into one of guidance. "Regarding our previous talk about your target—striving for the Eighth Level of the Earth Spirit Realm—please, do not feel pressured."
"Don’t force yourself to rush your cultivation; it will only lead to an unstable foundation. I have no desire to see you cripple your own future simply to secure a victory in the tournament. Your mastery of Sword Intent is already exceptional, and if you display Sword Aura in the tournament, it will be a major uproar in eastern continent."
He leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper. "To be perfectly honest, my initial interest in you was piqued solely by the anomaly of your spiritual roots."
"That is why I sent Lady Mei’s daughters to greet you. Then, you shocked me by showing a Sword Intent. When Elder Alder give me those reports, I knew instantly that you had to be the member of Azure Dragon Sect tournament team."
The Sect Leader chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. "And then, you surprised me yet again with your Sword Aura, as if wielding an intent wasn’t enough to leave me breathless. You are a rare talent, Damon."
Damon bowed slightly, maintaining his composure. "I appreciate your trust and your guidance, Sect Leader. I will not disappoint you."
"Okay, since I already told what I want, do you have any question?" The sect leader asked.
"No, Sect Leader." Damon replied.
"Good. Now you can go back to your training. Sorry but you have to go back on your own, I have something to talk to Lady Mei."
Damon simply nodded then turn around and leave.

Damon walked down the mountain path away from the Sect Leader’s residence. His thoughts lingered on the old man he had just left behind.
’Well, he different from what I expected..." freēwēbηovel.c૦m
The Sect Leader showed no arrogance despite his title and power.
’I thought he will just give me order or something like that..’
Damon had expected forceful demands or attempts to control the situation. Instead the man spoke with real concern for the sect and its disciples.
He cared about stable foundations and long term growth rather than immediate wins. This felt nothing like the sect leaders Damon remembered from novels he read.
Those figures always demanded respect and believed their position gave them the right to command everyone around them.
The path curved through mist and ancient trees. Damon kept his pace steady. His black robes with silver trim, the sign of inner disciple, brushed against the stone steps.
Golden eyes scanned the surroundings without hurry. He replayed the conversation in his mind again.
The Sect Leader had approved his plan to stay low and rise through tests. That approach avoided suspicion from rivals like Kai.
Damon appreciated the trust placed in him and Ariel. It opened doors to the tournament without extra pressure.
’He’s really a good sect leader... Or is it because there is Mei with him?’
Damon decide to ignore it since it won’t change anything, for now he just need to get stronger.
Then a sudden weird feeling pressed on his back his back. It was not a curious glance. The stare carried clear bad intent.
Damon stopped for a moment and activated his spiritual sense. The range expanded outward in an instant.
Far ahead among the trees he detected a lone figure. The man hid his presence but not well enough. His eyes locked onto Damon with open hostility.
’What the... why there always someone who show me hostility, where ever I go... Is this how cultivation world works?’
"Is this why the previous owner of this body try to hide because he had handsome face?"
No one else in the sect knew Damon’s face outside the selection tests and the death match with Jack.
’Ahh, It’s Kai’s... Because I still in the core disciple court.’
Only Kai and his lackeys in the core disciple court would recognize him this way.
Damon kept walking without changing speed. He acted like he felt nothing at all.
His expression stayed calm and detached. He continues to walk to get out the core disciple court to Selene’s mansion.
’Just wait a little bit longer Kai... soon your fiancé will fall for me. Maybe after that if Selene wants it, I can have sex with Selene in front of him to make him suffer more. Hehehe.’
’Ohh, right! He aiming for Mia and Mio too, I should asked them also, Heheheh.’
Internal thoughts turned cold as he considered his new idea.
Dealing with the watcher now would only make Kai more cautious.
’Better to let the spy report back to him, so he knew that I actually living together with Selene. It will make him angrier, right? Hahaha’
Damon focused on the road ahead instead.
’I wonder what he look like and what face he have when he heard the report.’
The trees thinned as he neared the Selene’s mansion. Elder Selene’s mansion came into view in his eyes. Damon enter the entrance gate without looking back once.
