Chapter 94: Step Up
Sensing that the situation was getting dangerous, Theodore had to rack his brains to think of a way to catch the man. Thinking Victor was likely already here, Theodore held the man for now.
Theodore had to keep the man here as much as possible until Victor’s reinforcements arrived. The man had already grown bigger at this point, and his aura was even more sinister.
"System, can you help me see what power he has? I think that his power is unusual; until now, I haven’t seen any power like this." Because he was pressed like this, Theodore also asked System to help him.
[There is indeed something strange about that person. You have to be careful with him host, especially now that his attributes are soaring and his power will be enormous]
"What a hassle." Theodore sighed tiredly as he looked at the man who had already performed his transformation.
A moment before, the man was still standing far away from Theodore. But in a split second, Theodore felt his presence in the vicinity, and in the next moment, he already felt a punch from the man aimed at his jaw.
Fortunately, Theodore had raised his agility attribute, which made him fast enough to dodge the sudden attack.
Although Theodore managed to dodge the attack, he could feel the man’s fist scraping his cheek; he could tell because he felt cold, fresh blood dripping from his cheek.
Theodore’s face turned dark. He was not happy with his current situation. Without thinking, he activated his sprint skills to speed up his movements and attacks.
While holding the sword tighter, Theodore darted towards the man, launching attacks at him and trying to corner him.
There was a clanking sound of metal clashing together as Theodore and the man quickly exchanged attacks. Dust flew around them as a result of their rapid attacks.
Theodore wanted to end this fight as soon as possible, so he intended to put all his strength into this moment. While the duration of his Sprint skill was still available, Theodore followed up his attack by activating his other skills.
To create a little distance between them, Theodore used his Wind Slash skill to knock the man back; when he lost his balance due to being knocked back by his skill, he activated his Slash skill.
Theodore quickly swung his sword towards the man’s body; he only intended to injure the man but not to kill him.
It was clear that the man was furious at Theodore’s constant attacks. Not wanting to be silent, he slammed his fist into the ground; Theodore, who saw it, frowned in confusion.
But little did Theodore know that the man finally shook his footing because he felt the ground around him become rumbling like an earthquake.
Theodore finally knew what the man was trying to do before. Utilizing the condition where Theodore was unsteady, the man took the opportunity to attack Theodore.
Realizing his mistake, Theodore could only defend as best he could at the moment; even if he couldn’t withstand the man’s attack, he could only minimize the injuries he would receive later.
The man was seen dashing towards Theodore, ready to beat him up. Even Theodore could see how wide he was grinning at him now.
But a surprising thing happened, when Theodore was ready to hold back as hard as he could, someone came and directly smashed the man’s head to the ground. Which made the man instantly motionless.
When Theodore looked up, he could see Victor’s figure. The rumor that Victor was happy when he was the center of attention turned out to be true.
Because of what Victor did, what Theodore had done earlier became meaningless because people’s attention was immediately focused on Victor, who came with his heroic actions.
"Why did you only come to save me when I was almost dead, captain?" Theodore, already covered in sweat because he was tired of fighting the man, immediately complained to Victor.
"It’s a good thing I came to help you," Victor replied, glancing at Theodore without guilt.
"Then you can solve this problem, right? I’ve handed over the person to you," Theodore said later as he slowly rose.
"For now. We don’t know what will happen in the future. I have also ordered people to search their headquarters and told them to kill the zombies they are hiding." This time, Victor took Theodore’s words seriously.
"Alright, then I’ll be back." Theodore turned to leave, intending to return to his apartment.
It was almost morning, so Theodore was unlikely to go to the west gate to work. He wanted to rest at home and spend time in the sacred dimension. He thought the vegetables could be harvested today.
. . .
Theodore had to go to the barracks first to pick up his car, which he had left there. While driving his car back to the basement of his apartment building, Theodore removed the black face covering he was wearing.
Now that his face could be clearly seen, as Theodore got out of his car, he heard a stifled scream not far from his current position.
"So it’s you! I almost thought you were a bad guy when I saw you before." Chelsea’s voice was heard in the distance, and she walked closer to Theodore.
"What are you doing here?" Theodore frowned uncomfortably as he saw Chelsea again in the basement. freёweɓnovel.com
"I wanted to go to the barracks. I heard the criminals at the north gate were throwing a tantrum, so Captain Victor told me and the others to go to the barracks." Chelsea also explained why she was in the basement.
"Are you guys currently working for the military?" Theodore was more curious about this. He had forgotten to ask Cassian and the others before. freewebnoveℓ.com
"Yes," Chelsea replied while nodding her head.
"Then you should hurry to the barracks. Victor will definitely ask you to do many things today," Theodore replied, smiling suspiciously.
Chelsea’s eyes narrowed suspiciously when she heard Theodore’s reaction. She realized that there must be a reason why Theodore had gone out in such a suspicious suit.
But seeing that Theodore was very tired, Chelsea said nothing about her suspicions.
"Then I’ll go first!" Chelsea nodded her head and walked into her sedan car.
After Chelsea left, Theodore returned to his feet and walked up the stairs to his apartment floor. He really cursed at this point; he was tired and still had to climb hundreds of steps.
