Chapter 80: Run For Your Life

Theodore did not stop shooting at the zombies that had stepped on his feet on the second floor; inevitably, he had to activate his Area of Protection skill to protect himself from the zombie attacks that had begun to surround him.

"I hope they’re all gone," Theodore muttered while gritting his teeth.

If everyone was already in the truck, Theodore no longer needed to stay here to prevent these zombies from chasing after the others. However, in such intense conditions, Theodore could only survive for a short while.

While using his new Sprint skill, Theodore ran around the second floor to pull the zombies away from where the others were.

Theodore’s Area of Protection duration was minimal; his friends needed to complete their tasks within the protection duration of his skill; otherwise, he would have no chance to save himself.

For a while, Theodore had been traveling around the second floor, and his skill had only one minute left. Before running towards where his friends were gathered, Theodore first misled the zombies.

"At a time like this, the bullets are running out!" Theodore wanted to curse when he realized that the bullets in his firearm had run out at an inopportune moment.

Theodore could not help but summon his sword from the sacred dimension, quickly using his Wind Slash skill to hit back as many zombies as possible.

After successfully driving the zombies away from him, Theodore turned and ran away as fast as he could. He had to take advantage of the zombies’ slow mobility to escape from them.

It didn’t take long for Theodore to get to where his friends were, and it just so happened that only Cassian and Neville were there.

"Hurry up and get on that slide! We don’t have any more time!" Theodore shouted and ordered them to get on the slide together.

Cassian and Neville, who saw Theodore’s arrival, were both surprised and relieved. But Theodore’s anxious and sweaty appearance certainly didn’t augur well for them.

There was no more time to ask what had happened. Theodore pushed the two of them to get on the slide immediately.

"Hey, you, Cassian. As soon as you get to the truck, make a barrier to cover this hole when I jump out. You got it?" Before they went down the slide, Theodore reminded Cassian to do as he was told.

"But the slide will disappear if I force myself to make a barrier wall, so what about you?" Cassian frowned in confusion. He didn’t expect Theodore to let him fall from the second floor.

"Just do it. I don’t mind if you die with me," Theodore said, rolling his eyes lazily.

Not wanting to hear any more from Cassian, Theodore pushed Cassian’s back so that he and Neville could quickly slide into the back of their truck.

At the same time, the zombies that had chased Theodore earlier were almost there. Theodore pulled his sword from his backpack and prepared to hold off the approaching zombies.

There is a better time to hold back his strength. Theodore also issued his skills one by one to slaughter the zombies before him.

Currently, the situation where Theodore stood was full of traces of black blood from the zombies he had beheaded. Theodore struggled with all his strength to hold back the zombies until he made sure the others were already in the truck. freёwebnovel.com

Then, soon, Theodore heard a voice from down there that made him grin with pleasure.

"Theodore, we’re all in the truck!" Cassian’s voice informed him that they were already in the truck.

It was time for Theodore to escape, so he immediately turned around and ran as fast as he could toward the window he had broken. Without hesitation, Theodore jumped out of the window.

"Cassian, now!" Theodore shouted while in the air, telling Cassian to create a barrier in front of the broken window.

A moment later, the slide under Theodore began to disappear, and an iron barrier wall stood in front of the hole they used to escape.

But the problem was Theodore for a glimpse of the zombies intending to jump; not wanting the zombies to make it out of the hole, Theodore, who was still in the air, turned his body towards the hole and swung his sword while activating his Wind Slash skill whose cooldown was complete.

With Theodore’s help, the zombies that rushed forward could be beaten back, and the barrier wall was finally completed, and finally, no zombies could get out of the mall.

Theodore was only relieved after seeing the barrier wall perfectly formed. For a moment, he could only feel the gust of wind hitting his face, and only then did he realize that he was still floating in the air.

"Damn it!" Theodore cursed loudly in his heart as he looked down.

Even though there were no zombies down there because his friends had cleared them, Theodore still fell from the second floor of the mall building, which was quite high.

Only now did Theodore feel that the air hitting his face was not as peaceful as he thought in the sacred dimension. The air pressure as he fell down was really felt this time.

When he was close to the ground, Theodore prepared to roll as he was about to land. Although the landing was imperfect, at least Theodore’s bones were still in place.

Fortunately, Roderick and Neville were already down there helping Theodore get up, and both immediately carried Theodore to the back of their truck.

"Thank goodness you’re okay!" Roderick felt like his heart would burst when he saw Theodore jump out of the window.

Everyone in the truck was anxious and worried about Theodore’s condition when performing that dangerous stunt. It was risky, but it kept the zombies out of the mall.

"I can’t move anymore. Let me rest here." Theodore had lost all his energy. All he wanted right now was to rest his tired body.

"Yes, it should be like that. You rest in peace here," Roderick replied, still in a flat tone.

After they let Theodore rest on the iron bars, Roderick led everyone to the next place. Originally, they intended to go there.

But, since Theodore was already tired and they found many people in this mall, the iron and metal they got was also quite a lot. So Roderick thought that they should just go back to the base and continue this mission when their circumstances were better than this.

After everyone agreed to return to the base, Roderick immediately ordered the soldiers driving this truck to return to their base.
