Chapter 56: Now It’s Your Turn!
"Leave the task of saving Doctor Christopher to me. You guys stay here and keep an eye on the giant zombie. If it moves, pull it out and hold it until me and Dr. Christopher come out." With a flat face, Theodore explained what he wanted to Victor.
Of course, everyone witnessed what Theodore did, and they were shocked when they realized that Theodore dared to talk like that to Victor. Several people were gaping at Theodore’s actions.
Victor gritted his teeth as hard as possible to hide his anger, which could not wait to explode. Fortunately, Victor still knows that he can’t cause a scene here.
So, Victor cleared his throat to break the tense atmosphere and give himself time to calm down and think clearly. Although Victor was cruel, strict, and sometimes arbitrary, he knew that as Captain, he had to think clearly to make the right decisions. frёewebnoѵēl.com
"Are you sure you can save Doctor Christopher?" Victor asked Theodore while glaring at him.
"Yes." Theodore nodded his head confidently.
"If you can’t complete this mission, I will punish you when we get to the base!" Victor hissed hatefully. He was currently really restraining himself from getting angry at Theodore.
"It doesn’t matter because I don’t intend to fail." Theodore nodded his head and began to walk away from Victor.
The stench bothered Theodore. He wanted to melt the zombie bodies and scatter the giant zombie, but he couldn’t do it then.
Snowodore started the action. He first took a breath, and then he started moving towards the laboratory room at the end of this long corridor.
"I’ll leave the zombies to you!" Theodore waved his hand to Victor and the others before leaving.
Not really caring about their reactions, Theodore strolled as he got close to the giant zombie. Because the zombie was in the middle of the corridor, he had to walk to the side and pass it.
Theodore almost vomited when he was very close to the giant zombie; the stench was so pungent that even though he had covered his nose with a cloth, he could still smell the stench.
Not wanting to waste his time near the giant zombie, Theodore intended to move faster to get away from it. But for a split second, Theodore realized that the zombie was glancing at him.
Realizing that the giant zombie was aware of his presence, Theodore was shocked and ran as best he could to get past it. Fortunately, Theodore decided to run because, just a little late, the giant zombie’s hand could grab his body, intending to pull him.
When he got past the giant zombie, Theodore’s eyes bulged in disbelief, and he could feel his heart beating faster than usual. It was really close. If he got caught by the zombie, then Theodore’s life, which had just restarted, would be over.
"Damn it, it turns out that this zombie realized our existence earlier!" Theodore looked at the zombie’s back head in horror.
It was just that Theodore didn’t understand why the giant zombies didn’t react when their troops arrived. Fortunately, now that Theodore had passed by the zombie, he didn’t see any signs that it would chase him.
Since it was like that, Theodore wasted no more time and ran toward the dire laboratory to the lab door, which was pretty close if Twoulddore was run like that. freёwebnovel.com
"I just need to get inside!" With cold sweat starting to pour out, Theodore grabbed the handle of the lab door and intended to open it.
But, unexpectedly, Theodore couldn’t open the lab door because it was closed!
"Damn it, I didn’t think this door would be locked from the inside!" Theodore cursed loudly when he didn’t think of something as simple as this.
Theodore thought of using his power to destroy the door, but he was stopped by the system.
[The host’s power might be known to others if the host used it at this time]
"I’m so anxious right now that I can’t think straight. It’s a good thing you reminded me." Theodore slowly breathed in, trying to calm down his overly anxious self.
"We still have time. I’ll try something else to open this door." Theodore, who had calmed down, could finally think of other ways he could try to open the door.
Since there was no way Theodore could open the door from the outside, he thought of calling Doctor Christopher, who was inside. Hopefully, he could hear his voice and open the door.
"Doctor Christopher, please open the door, I’m coming to save you!" Theodore spoke loud enough for his voice to be heard inside the laboratory.
Theodore waited for an answer to his call for a while, but he still did not receive any reply. Theodore then tried again and hoped that he would hear an answer from inside this time.
But instead of getting an answer from inside the laboratory, Theodore saw that the giant zombie that had previously been silent had now risen and begun to roar loudly.
Theodore was shocked when he saw it before his eyes. If the giant zombie turned on him and decided to attack him, then he would have difficulty fighting it alone.
Theodore had even pulled out his sword to prepare to fight the giant zombie. But, it seemed like Theodore was still lucky enough that Victor and the others started to lure the giant zombie into attacking them.
"I leave this mission to you!" Victor shouted at Theodore before he and his group lured the giant zombie away.
Theodore breathed a sigh of relief but still didn’t have a solution to his current problem.
If his call was not answered, Theodore thought he would have to destroy the door to get in. But he only thought of this plan as his final plan.
So, for now, Theodore kept calling Doctor Christopher, hoping he would hear him so he wouldn’t have to destroy the door in front of him.
Finally, Theodore heard a voice from inside the lab, but the voice was so weak that he doubted that he heard the voice from inside.
