Chapter 178: Your Research?

Doctor Christopher swallowed harshly, he had not expected Theodore to be here. Christopher thought that his research might be discovered by the military if someone like Theodore found out what he was doing in this quarantine clinic.

"That’s not what I meant, it’s just that you’d be damaging the facilities here if you killed infected people just like that," Christopher said, trying to be as calm as possible to answer Theodore’s question.

"I’ve been suspicious of you from the start. But, I’ll let it go this time, I’ll kill them anyway," Theodore replied as he turned to walk towards the people who had started to turn into zombies.

With a sword in his hand Theodore beheaded the infected people there. Christopher, who saw that, tried to calm down and let Theodore do all that.

"I hope you’re not hiding anything else here, doctor." Theodore turned to Christopher with a sharp look in his eyes.

"Take it easy, I wouldn’t dare to do anything suspicious under the watchful eye of the military," Christopher said with an awkward smile as Theodore spoke to him.

After confirming that there were no more humans who had been infected by the zombie virus in the clinic Theodore walked away from there, intending to return to his friends waiting outside.

But just as Theodore was about to leave the clinic, he was met by several soldiers who ran towards him in a hurry.

"Why do you guys look in such a hurry?" Theodore thought there was something emergency that made the soldiers rush like that.

"We came here because we received a report that there are humans infected by the zombie virus," said one of the soldiers while looking at Theodore strangely.

"I’ve already finished it, so you can rest easy. You can check from inside, then can I ask you a favor?" Theodore thought to take this opportunity to ask the soldiers for a favor.

"What is it?"

"I’m a little suspicious of Doctor Christopher, can you guys watch his movements secretly," Theodore said in a small voice.

"For that matter you can tell the captain," replied one of the soldiers who couldn’t decide on Theodore’s request.

"Alright, then. You better see what’s going on in there," Theodore said and left the soldiers to do their work.

After that, the soldiers moved deeper into the clinic. Theodore then stepped out of the clinic and he could see his other friends already awake and waiting for him not far from the clinic.

"Is there really an infected person inside?" Chelsea was the first to ask Theodore.

"Yes, there are quite a few infected people, no wonder those nurses are so hysterical," Theodore said while nodding his head.

"It’s a good thing you moved so quickly!" Neville applauded Theodore’s action when something urgent happened.

"Instead of that, do we still have to languish here?" Theodore turned to Cassian because Cassian was usually the one who knew things like this. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

"I still don’t have any information on that. I think it’s better if we go to the quarantine tent," Cassian said, choosing to take the others to the quarantine tent instead.

"That’s fine, these soldiers have to sterilize the clinic first before it can be entered by others," Theodore replied later.

With that Theodore and the others walked towards the quarantine tent which was not too far from the clinic where they were.

Fortunately, the soldiers guarding the quarantine tent received them and confirmed that there were no other injuries on their bodies. One of the soldiers took Theodore and the others to one of the empty tents.

It was still night so Theodore and the others rested in the tent again. Fortunately this time they could rest well this time, unlike before when they had to be disturbed by the commotion in the clinic.

. . .

The next day Theodore and the others were surprised by the arrival of Roderick who wanted to take them to Victor.

"I finally get to see you guys again," Roderick said as his lips turned up slightly at the sight of Theodore and the others.

"It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you, friend. I have a bad feeling when I see you suddenly like this," Theodore said when he saw Roderick in front of his current tent.

Cassian was also seen sighing when he saw Roderick coming towards them at this time. There was indeed something bad that would happen to them if Roderick came like this.

"As usual the Captain wants to see you and of course you have to report what happened. Madeline reported earlier and now the Captain is looking forward to talking to you," Roderick said in his trademark serious voice.

"I expected it to be like this," Theodore replied with a sigh.

They still had to face Victor after this, honestly Theodore had a headache just thinking about it.

"Can you give us some time to rest first. Honestly, me and the others are still very tired after what happened during the trip. You must know what happened because Madeline reported it," Theodore explained this time refusing to meet with Victor.

"I know that very well. I didn’t want to find you guys so soon either, but how else would the captain want to see you," Roderick replied feeling sorry for Theodore and the others.

"Anyway, I don’t want to go see the captain. So it’s your job to tell the captain," Theodore replied with a grin.

Theodore went back into the tent and laid down on the mattress that was in the tent.

Cassian also did not do anything, he remained in the tent and did not intend to report to Victor alone. No matter what, Cassian would be told to bring Theodore to Victor if he reported now.

"I’ll go back and tell the captain then," Roderick replied, already giving up on bringing them to Victor.

After Roderick waltzed away from the tent, Theodore and the others breathed a sigh of relief.

"Finally he didn’t force us to go, I really have a headache at the thought of having to report to the captain," Cassian said while shaking his shoulders.

"Let it go, the captain himself will come here anyway. You better get some sleep and gather your strength to face the captain later," Theodore replied while saying something that made the others shudder in horror.
