Chapter 177: Just Wait
Some people were seen asking the soldiers around about the situation just now. Fortunately, the infected people could be dealt with immediately; otherwise, they could have become zombies.
It seemed like the soldiers were getting angry with the people questioning them even though the blame was on the people who had just entered; they didn’t want to admit it when they were already infected by zombies.
"Attention everyone! To prevent this from happening, anyone infected or injured should leave the group and come with us before they endanger others and the continuity of this base!"
Hearing that, the people who had just entered the base began to whisper and check on their respective group members.
"What about you guys? Are you hurt?" Theodore turned to his friends.
"It’s just my hand that’s hurt from using the crossbow too long," Cassian said as he showed his blistered palm.
"So am I," Neville continued, showing his hand.
"My hands are only blistered, but not as bad as yours," Chelsea replied, showing her palms.
"Should we follow the soldiers?" Theodore also had an injured hand, so he thought it would be better for them to follow the soldiers willingly.
"I feel that something bad will happen if we follow that soldier. If you don’t mind, we’d better follow them," Chelsea said with a grin.
"Gosh, Chelsea! You just want to see the drama, don’t you!" Neville, who already knew Chelsea, knew that Chelsea only wanted to see the commotion.
Hearing that, Chelsea did not argue and just shrugged her shoulders indifferently, not caring about Neville’s words.
"I think we should go with the soldiers, no matter how we are among the wounded," Cassian said seriously, unlike Chelsea and Neville, who seemed to be playing around.
"That’s the way it should be. Alright, let’s go with the soldiers," Theodore replied, leading the way toward the soldiers who had made the announcement earlier.
As Theodore and the others walked towards the soldier, the few people who recognized them as the ones who helped them get into the base were surprised to see them approaching the soldier.
Not only those people but also the soldier who made the announcement were surprised when one of the people who joined him was Theodore and his group.
"Are you guys infected?" The soldier looked very surprised and wary at the same time.
"Not like that, we’re injured. Just in case we’re coming with you," Theodore said, explaining the state of himself and his friends.
At least the soldiers could breathe a sigh of relief when they heard Theodore’s words, although they couldn’t be that relieved because there was still a possibility that Theodore and the others could have been infected with the zombie virus.
"Then follow me!" The soldier immediately took the injured people to the other side of the quarantine tent.
Not far from the quarantine tent was a large clinic that accommodated injured people after returning to base. And most of the people who entered the clinic were infected with the zombie virus. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
However, not a few who were injured were not due to zombie attacks. Some people were injured because they were hurt by other humans.
"Since your wounds are only on your hands, you can rest in this place; the nurse will come to help heal your wounds." The soldier told Theodore and his friends to rest in front of the clinic.
Meanwhile, the soldier continued on his way, bringing the other injured people deeper into the clinic.
"They are very suspicious. Isn’t it obvious that they are infected?" said Chelsea, curiously looking at the group of wounded people.
"I don’t know, I definitely want to rest!" Theodore, who had been disturbed until now, could not rest. He was tired and decided to sleep on one of the mattresses provided.
"Aren’t you worried?" Neville gave Theodore a strange look.
But Theodore didn’t react, and Neville knew he was asleep and didn’t care about anything else. Neville sighed and finally followed Theodore’s lead. He laid down on the bed and slept.
"Gosh, you guys don’t understand the danger," Cassian said while shaking his head at Theodore and Neville’s reckless behavior.
"It looks like that boy has dared to follow a bad example. But we do need a break. I’m sure you’re tired too," said Chelsea, who then decided to lie down.
"You’re right. It feels like my body is very tired. But I’m still worried about those people," replied Cassian, unable to rest his body.
"No problem, I’m sure these two will wake up first if anything bad happens," Chelsea replied, then calmed her older brother.
"Right, then I’ll rest, too." Finally, Cassian gave up and decided to sleep.
Finally, they all went to sleep to recover their lost stamina.
. . .
The calm and peaceful atmosphere did not last long because there was a soul-shaking scream about an hour later. Neville, who had been able to hear the sound since before, opened his eyes slowly.
Neville was already awake but too lazy to get up, so when he heard the voice getting closer, he couldn’t help but open his eyes and wake up.
As Neville opened his eyes, he saw Theodore sitting up and glancing behind him to see what was happening.
"I wasn’t wrong when I decided to relax because I’m sure you woke up before me," Neville said as he got up from his lying position.
"Wake up, Cassian and Chelsea, then get out of here," Theodore said calmly, taking out his black sword.
Theodore also walked deeper into the clinic. He could see several nurses already running out with pale faces, and he could already imagine what had happened there.
The patients on the beds that had fortunately been tied up began to struggle, and their faces were no longer human. Theodore knew that some of the people brought by the soldiers had been infected with the zombie virus.
Without saying anything, Theodore immediately beheaded the person who had been infected by the zombie virus. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
"You... can’t kill them?!" One of the doctors shouted at Theodore.
For some reason, Theodore recognized the doctor’s voice. As he turned around, he saw that it was the Doctor Christopher he had previously rescued from the cursed hospital.
"Doctor Christopher?" Theodore frowned as he realized the doctor forbade him from killing this zombie.
"Theodore? Why are you here?" Doctor Christopher was surprised to see that the person who killed his research subject was Theodore.
"I should be the one asking that, doctor. Why did you forbid me from killing these infected people?" Theodore stared at Doctor Christopher with his sharp eyes.
Not only that, but Theodore also walked closer to Doctor Christopher. From that moment, he had suspected this doctor, and now his suspicion was increasing because of his words.
