Chapter 160: Still Alive?
Theodore quickly opened the room door and saw Cassian and Chelsea, who were already looking very weak. Seeing that, Theodore promptly helped them out of the room.
"Oh my God, what happened to you guys like this?" Theodore was apprehensive about the two of them.
It seemed like their food and drink supplies had run out, so they were hungry now. Moreover, the room was very narrow. Theodore was surely hiding in it. The room was very stuffy, and they had difficulty breathing because of that.
In addition, Theodore took two bottles of mineral water from the sacred dimension and helped the two of them drink it. After drinking the mineral water, both of them felt better.
At least now, they can hold the mineral water bottles themselves. Theodore also took some more bottles for them.
Only now could they communicate with Theodore. Theodore was relieved when they could respond to what he said. He also took out a bowl of cherry tomatoes for them to enjoy.
"While you explain what happened, you can eat this," Theodore said as he placed the bowl in their center.
"I thought the base wouldn’t send anyone to rescue us," Chelsea said, already breathing a sigh of relief after seeing Theodore open the door to the room earlier.
"I had already resigned myself to the fact that the captain wouldn’t care about us," Cassian said gratefully when he and his sister were finally found by Theodore.
"Actually, the Captain told us to come here to retrieve the items you’ve collected. But, well, at least he still said to find and rescue you guys, even though it wasn’t his priority," Theodore explained with an unpleasant grimace.
"No wonder, the Captain must have prioritized the items we had collected. But, I actually told the others to carry it when they fled," Cassian replied in surprise at Theodore’s explanation.
"It seems like they left your truck on purpose so there was a reason for them to ask the captain to send men to rescue you," Theodore replied, trying to surmise what the surviving members of Cassian’s group were thinking.
"I told you they won’t leave us alone," Chelsea chuckled. She was very proud of their group members.
In the end, they wouldn’t leave Cassian and Chelsea alone. Theodore understood why they were doing it for Cassian and Chelsea.
"Just don’t tell this to the others. There’s a trusted subordinate of the Captain who’s coming, don’t let him know about this," Theodore reminded them not to tell Madeline about the truck.
Cassian and Chelsea looked at each other when they heard Theodore’s words and nodded in understanding. After Cassian and Chelsea had enough energy to move, Theodore invited them to leave that place.
"Come on, get down. The others must be worried because I’m not coming back soon," Theodore said with a chuckle.
"That’s right, we can move too," Cassian replied, nodding and following Theodore down from the surveillance site.
With that, the three of them climbed the small stairs and started walking after Theodore to meet the people who had come here with him.
Seeing Theodore in the distance, Madeline glared at him and walked towards Theodore.
"Why did you just come back? Didn’t I tell you to come back soon? What were you doing there?" Not only was she worried that something had happened to Theodore, but Madeline also suspected that Theodore was doing something behind her back.
"I found them," Theodore said while showing Cassian and Chelsea, then he continued," And they need time to gather their strength back, so there’s that."
Madeline stopped babbling and turned to look at the people Theodore had brought. "So you are Cassian and Chelsea, who are trapped here?" Madeline confirmed their identities.
"Yes, sorry for troubling you and the captain." Cassian immediately apologized to Madeline because, in reality, Madeline could be said to be Cassian’s superior.
At that moment, Neville got up and ran towards Cassian and Chelsea, interrupting Madeline’s speech, who was just about to speak.
"Thank goodness you guys are okay. I was so worried about leaving you here," Neville said as he hugged Cassian.
Cassian patted him lightly on the back and smiled awkwardly at Madeline, who looked quite upset that Neville had abruptly cut off her speech. Madeline couldn’t do anything about it either, so she decided to let them be.
But Neville deliberately did that without anyone knowing to give Cassian information about their goods truck. Neville purposely told the rest of the group to leave the truck because the Captain would not send people to rescue Cassian and Chelsea if they took it.
"The truck is still where we hid it in the first place, if the female soldier asks you just tell her what you know, I didn’t move the truck at all," Neville said while whispering in Cassian’s ear to convey this information.
"Thank you, I’m sure that woman intended to ask me this earlier," Cassian said, still patting Neville’s back, who pretended to be sad.
After that, Neville moved to Chelsea and insisted on hugging her, too. Even though he could feel Chelsea pushing him away, he still insisted on hugging her.
It was only when Neville whispered that Chelsea accepted the hug and listened to what Neville said.
"The position of the truck is still in the same place, me and the others didn’t move it. No need to worry if the female soldier asks you about this," Neville whispered softly, but he still pretended to be crying and sad.
To cover up their actions, Chelsea was forced to do what Cassian had done before: she patted Neville’s back to calm him down while replying that she understood.
It was only then that Neville released his hug on Chelsea and turned to look at Madeline, "Thank you for your help, Miss Madeline," Neville said to Madeline.
Madeline sighed when she heard Neville’s words, "No problem, the Captain has assigned me to find them," Madeline said while waving her hand.
Cassian and Chelsea also thanked everyone who came to their rescue. After that, Madeline asked them where the truck of goods they had collected was. freewёbnoνel.com
Because he had been told beforehand by Neville, so Cassian could answer with confidence. Before they entered the building, Cassian had hidden the truck and car behind the warehouse.
Given that Cassian had the power, it was no problem for them to park the car far away because Cassian could still reach it with the iron bars he made.
"The truck is behind this warehouse. I parked it there on purpose so no one would notice. I think we just need to force open this section and you can see the truck," Cassian explained, pointing to the wall at the end of the warehouse.
Unlike most warehouses, the walls around this one were made of thin metal, so it was easy for Cassian to manipulate them and create a way out.
Then, they heard an ear-piercing screech, and the earthen barrier Madeline had made began to shake as if it were being attacked from the other side.
Everyone who was there looked at each other in horror. Without even making a sound, they knew what had happened on the other side of the barrier.
