Chapter 154: How Dare You!

Madeline ordered her men to take out their weapons from the back of the car. They had to use some weapons to get out of the vehicle.

"That son of a bitch actually left us!" Madeline gritted her teeth in annoyance; she would get back at Theodore for what he did to her.

"Boss, weapons are ready. We need to get out immediately."

"The zombies have started coming through the front door!"

"Now do it! Shoot all the zombies dead!" Madeline angrily ordered her men to leave the car to fire at the zombies.

With all the commotion they caused, they finally escaped from the car. Fortunately, before Theodore and Neville left, Madeline saw where they were going and invited her team to follow her.

"I know where they are, follow me!" With her breath caught in her throat, Madeline ordered her team to follow her.

Obediently, they followed Madeline; they. They had to hurry to get out of there if they didn’t want the zombies to come back after them. They had already spent enough bullets to escape, and it was really a loss for them.

Meanwhile, Theodore could hear gunshots from where he left Madeline and her group. Theodore didn’t care what happened to Madeline; considering she was one of Victor’s trusted subordinates, she should be able to save herself.

"Do you think they’ll catch up with us?" Neville, who was hugging his own knees, asked Theodore this.

"I don’t know. It seems like they will catch up with us," Theodore replied uncertainty.

Given that their hiding place was not too far from the scene, Madeline could have found them. Theodore didn’t mind if Madeline followed him here.

Neville sighed tiredly when Theodore said, "I hope they don’t come here. I’m really uncomfortable with their presence," Neville replied listlessly.

"We still need them to save Cassian. So bear with it, I’m sure they won’t do anything bad to you," Theodore said, understanding why Neville felt uncomfortable with Madeline’s behavior.

"That’s right, I need to save Cassian and Chelsea." Neville assured him.

"You better explain to me what happened to you in that place," Theodore said later; before they came there, it was better if he could know the details of what happened to Cassian and his group.

"Our situation was really dire back then. There were a lot of powerful zombies there and most of them had magic powers." Neville shuddered in horror as he recounted what happened back then.

"Didn’t you realize they were there? Wouldn’t it be better to get out of there if you know there are a lot of zombies with powers like that," Theodore replied as he frowned.

"I honestly didn’t hear their movements. That’s why we decided to break into the warehouse and start looting the useful things that were there," Neville explained what happened that time.

"So they were able to hide their presence?" Theodore had just found out that these zombies could do something like that.

"Yes! I was even surprised when I realized they surrounded us and started to corner us," Neville replied again, looking lethargic.

"It looks like it’s going to be difficult for us to attack that warehouse." Theodore also thought that they needed Madeline for this mission.

It’s just that Madeline and her friends are really annoying, even making Theodore really raise his blood.

For now, it looks like Theodore has to be patient with Madeline and her men’s magical behavior. The problem is that they need their help to save Cassian and Chelsea, who are trapped in the warehouse.

Theodore and Neville continued talking about what Theodore should know about what happened in the warehouse where Cassian and Chelsea were trapped.

At that moment, Neville suddenly gasped as he heard something in his ear. "There are some people heading this way!" Neville sat up straight and tried to focus his hearing.

"It’s most likely Madeline and her men. Want to come pick them up?" Theodore offered Neville to come with him.

"Although I hate them, waiting here alone is also uncomfortable. So I’ll go with you," Neville replied, nodding.

Then, Theodore and Neville walked out of their hiding place. Not far from the ruins of their building, the silhouettes of Madeline and her four men were seen walking towards them.

"I finally found you guys. How dare you leave us alone!" Madeline began to throw tantrums when she saw Theodore and Neville’s figures.

"It’s not my fault you didn’t listen to me," Theodore replied with a shrug of his shoulders. "Don’t talk so much and quickly hide with us. Zombies at night are very sensitive; they might find us," Theodore continued.

For fear of being chased by zombies again, Madeline and her men quickened their pace to follow Theodore into the gap in the ruins of a building.

After everyone was inside the ruins of the building, the atmosphere between them became very awkward and uncomfortable.

Neville didn’t move from Theodore’s side. He didn’t intend to interact with Madeline and her group, and he was sure they didn’t intend to interact with him.

It’s just that Neville is hungry now because he needs to rush, so he didn’t bring any supplies on this trip. And Neville felt terrible if he asked Theodore for help, so he could only hold his rumbling stomach.

"Are you hungry?" Theodore glanced at Neville, who had been silent since before and looked a little weaker than before.

Neville turned his head in surprise when he heard Theodore’s words, so he nodded shyly.

"Why don’t you tell me. Because I brought you along on this trip, so you’re my responsibility, if you’re hungry just tell me," Theodore explained, reminding Neville not to be shy about telling him something.

Theodore then took out a sandwich and handed it to Neville. "Eat it, and tell me if it’s not enough," Theodore said.

Neville’s eyes sparkled when he saw the sandwich Theodore had given. Hem. He was really hungry, so he didn’t refuse the sandwich. freeweɓnovel.cѳm

"Thank you!" Neville took the sandwich with a bright smile on his face.

"No problem." Theodore nodded slowly. He took out another sandwich and ate it to replenish his energy.

Theodore also took out two water bottles and handed one to Neville, who was eating next to him.

Madeline and her group were also hungry and looked at each other. They checked the backpacks they had salvaged from the car. Luckily, they had brought military rations, so they wouldn’t go hungry today.

With that, they enjoyed dinner quietly. Madeline didn’t do anything excessive this time. It seemed like she was too tired to throw a tantrum and blame Theodore.

Finally, they spent the night in the ruins and decided to continue their journey tomorrow. The problem was that they had to find a new car that they could drive, given that their current car was damaged.
