Chapter 130: This Is Dangerous
"Damn, I didn’t expect there to be that many of them here. We should turn around!" Theodore quickly moved the steering wheel to make a U-turn and find a safer way for them.
"No need. You just turn into that small alley over there, and I’ll direct you to another path." Geoffrey pointed towards a small alley on the side of the road.
Theodore was silent for a while before deciding to trust Geoffrey this time. He steered the car towards the alley Geoffrey had pointed out, wanting to see how good Geoffrey was at this.
It would be helpful for Theodore to have a good navigator; in the future, he intended to travel far with the group he would form later.
The distance between the alley and the zombie horde was quite close, so when Theodore’s car passed and turned into the alley, the zombies also reacted by chasing them and following them into the alley.
The car’s atmosphere became quite tense as the zombie horde chased them. Theodore didn’t say anything and focused on stepping on the gas of his car.
"Turn to the right!" Geoffrey quickly instructed Theodore to turn right when he saw they were about to exit the small alley.
Theodore deftly grasped the steering wheel firmly and turned it to the right, just as Geoffrey had said. The car was shaken slightly when Theodore made that sharp turn.
In the back, several zombies were thrown off by Theodore’s sudden turn. Theodore also used that moment to extend the distance between their car and the chasing zombies.
Fortunately, Geoffrey’s road had no zombies, so they could easily escape from the zombies’ pursuit. Theodore finally released his breath after he had been holding it due to tension.
"Good job, Geoff." Theodore could tell that Geoffrey was quite good at this task this time, although he could not easily conclude it.
"Hahaha... I’m confident in this kind of thing!" Geoffrey laughed arrogantly on the back seat he was sitting on.
"Don’t be so arrogant," Roxanne said while glancing at Geoffrey, who looked happy.
Hearing his older sister speak like that, Geoffrey shut up and returned to the tablet in his hand.
What worried Theodore at the moment was the fact that the car’s fuel was running out. They had to stop for refuelling. It was just that it would be very dangerous for them to stop now, as the roads were unsafe at the moment.
Theodore was also unsure if they could return to the base today, given that it was still a long way to the base and that they didn’t really know the suburbs. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
Finally, Theodore decided to find a place to spend the night today and continue their journey tomorrow. What they needed to do now was find a place to shelter for the night.
"Can you find a place where we can hide for the night, Geof?" Theodore immediately told Geoffrey to find a place to spend the night today.
"I’ll find it right away!" Geoffrey nodded and started fiddling with the tablet in his hand again.
Meanwhile, Roxanne herself immediately realized that they would not rush back to the base if Theodore told Geoffrey to find a place for them to spend the night outside tonight.
"We’re going to spend the night outside tonight?" Roxanne immediately confirmed her guess to Theodore.
"Yes, there’s only a little gas left in this car. It won’t catch up if I force myself to return to base tonight," Theodore explained their current situation.
"Apparently so. Then, shall we change cars?" Roxanne thought Theodore intended to change their vehicle, but they would need help finding a car that was still in good condition and had enough fuel.
"It would be difficult to find a new car nowadays, let alone one with enough fuel to get to the base. Luckily, I brought extra fuel," Theodore said with a smirk.
Roxanne unexpectedly shook her head at Theodore’s preparation, although she understood what Theodore was doing because he was like that. Roxanne agreed that they needed to find a place to spend the night.
"I found a pretty good place! You guys have no problem staying at the salon, right?" Geoffrey also tilted his head to hear the others’ opinions on the place he found.
"As long as it’s comfortable enough, I’m fine," Roxanne replied, not thinking about where they would be staying tonight.
"I see that the salon is quite spacious and not in a crowded place," Geoffrey explained.
"We’d better see how the place is. Direct me to that place," Theodore said, then told Geoffrey to lead him to the place he found.
Geoffrey quickly directed Theodore to the place he found. Fortunately, it was just a short distance from their current location, so it didn’t take them long to arrive at the place Geoffrey was referring to.
"How was it? It’s good because this place is not too crowded; there are only a few zombies here, too." Geoffrey excitedly explained the salon’s advantages.
"We’ll go there then while checking the situation inside the place," Theodore replied as he drove his car towards a salon whose name bar had fallen, and their fence was no longer in place.
The condition of the salon didn’t look too good from the outside; it was just that they had to check the inside to see if it was safe and if they could stay there for the night.
Theodore went inside the salon and parked his car near the entrance to the building. Theodore was the first to get out of the vehicle to ensure it was safe for the others.
After checking the situation around their car, Theodore tapped the window on the side where Roxanne was sitting and nodded, indicating that it was safe and they could both get out of the vehicle.
Seeing Roxanne and Geoffrey start to get out of the car, they join Theodore to check the situation inside the salon.
"Prepare your weapons. I’m sure there must be zombies trapped in there," Theodore said while summoning his sword from the sacred dimension.
Geoffrey took out his spiked baseball bat, and even Roxanne took out Theodore’s short sword. They were ready to enter the salon building.
Theodore was at the front, and he kicked the salon’s entrance door. Sure enough, they were immediately greeted by the zombie attack inside the salon.
