Chapter 116: Are You a Golem?
Theodore could see the zombies from the side of the car because he couldn’t get out, and the truck was utterly positioned to block anyone from getting in or out. However, Theodore couldn’t rest easy if he didn’t kill the zombies outside.
To kill the zombies, Theodore climbed,, onto the truck’s tailgate and then onto its head so he could kill them.
Although Theodore could only attack with his Wind Slash skill, he was sure it would take him a long time to kill the zombies using only Wind Slash.
Even so, Theodore would still do it; after all, he had nothing else to do, considering that he had entrusted the security of the 1st floor to the two other people on the night watch with him.
Until his night watch was over, Theodore stayed on top of the truck’s head to kill the zombies approaching the building’s entrance.
. . .
After resting, Theodore woke up; it was already noon. He sat down while gathering his life back. While focusing on himself, Theodore also paid attention to his surroundings. It seemed that the others were still relaxing.
It looks like they haven’t decided to attack the second floor. Theodore also heard the sound of steps approaching him. When he looked up, he saw Chelsea beside him.
"What did you come to me for?" Theodore spoke in a hoarse voice typical of someone who had just woken up.
"Can’t I come here?" Chelsea immediately flinched when she felt Theodore wasn’t happy to see her.
Theodore looked at her sharply, thinking Chelsea had come to him to make a scene. But Theodore had no intention of making trouble with Chelsea, so he didn’t respond to her remark.
"Forget it," Theodore said while yawning. He seemed still sleepy even though he had slept for a long time.
Somehow, Chelsea felt annoyed when she saw Theodore ignore her existence. Seeing that reaction made Chelsea intend to make trouble with Theodore, but she abandoned her intention because she had to deliver Cassian’s message to Theodore.
"My brother is calling you. He’s already near the second-floor elevator." After saying that, Chelsea immediately left without saying anything more to Theodore.
Theodore, who saw Chelsea’s departure, also frowned in confusion. He was surprised by Chelsea’s behavior and felt, for some reason, he didn’t like her.
Theodore lazily got up from his position and had to see Cassian. Theodore thought Cassian had called him to discuss how they would invade the second floor.
Several people greeted Theodore as he walked towards the elevator that led to the 2nd floor. When Theodore was near the elevator, he could see several people there besides Cassian.
After getting there, Theodore nodded his head to the few people who were there.
"You’ve finally come. We heard a strange noise from up there," Cassian said, greeting Theodore as he told him about the strange incident on the second floor. frёeωebɳovel.com
"What strange sounds?" Theodore frowned in confusion, as he didn’t remember any strange zombies on the second floor.
When Theodore asked that, there was a strong growling sound from the second floor. Not only that, but the zombie behind the barrier wall hit the barrier wall made by Cassian.
Theodore was surprised when he heard that. The problem was that he saw no strange zombies on the second floor. But because Theodore only passed briefly on the second floor, he didn’t know if there were zombies that had power there.
"When I went to the second floor, I didn’t find anything strange. So I don’t know who made that strange noise," Theodore explained with a serious face.
"You went up to the second floor?" Cassian was more surprised that Theodore had gone up to the second floor.
"The oxygen I’m carrying is on the 3rd floor. I’ve been up there for a while," Theodore replied calmly, not feeling strange about his actions.
The two people there with Cassian also gawked when they heard Theodore had gone to the 3rd floor. They wondered how Theodore could come back alive from up there.
"So you didn’t notice anything strange on the second floor?" Cassian thought even harder when he heard that Theodore didn’t see anything strange on the second floor.
"Yes. I only encountered powerful zombies on the 3rd floor. I didn’t find any on the 2nd floor. But, I guess I didn’t get around too much on the 2nd floor, so I didn’t see them," Theodore explained while shrugging his shoulders in disbelief.
"But we think that the ones that hit your protective wall were zombies with the chairman’s power." One of Cassian’s subordinates spoke up.
"I think so too, but we don’t know what kind of power that zombie has," Theodore nodded in agreement with the man’s words.
Cassian had initially thought of removing the barrier, but after talking to the others, there was a high possibility that there were powerful zombies behind the barrier.
The problem was whether they could defeat zombies of unknown strength. What if the zombies had the power of poison smoke like before?
They could be finished if they were trapped again with the toxic smoke zombie. But, the only way for them to get to the second floor was to remove the barrier wall.
"It doesn’t matter if you want to remove the barrier wall. I’ll deal with it first to find out what the zombie’s power is, but I hope you can immediately put it back when I need it." Theodore also spoke calculatingly.
"Sorry to trouble you again," Cassian said, still feeling bad for making Theodore do the heavy lifting for them.
"No problem. Just tell me when you’re ready," Theodore replied, waving his hand lightly.
Theodore let Cassian organize his men while he chose to sit on one of the elevator steps to focus himself. Honestly, he was still sleepy.
It took Cassian a little while to organize his men to gather near the elevator; he instructed them to stand guard in case Theodore needed their help later.
Seeing that, Theodore also got up and took out his sword to prepare to welcome any zombies that would appear from behind the protective wall.
Slowly, Cassian began to remove his protective wall, allowing the zombies behind it to see them.
Standing not far behind the protective wall, Theodore was immediately confronted with a strange-looking zombie figure. It was so strange that even an ordinary person would immediately know something was wrong with the zombie.
The zombie looked like it had been infused with a golem. Its skin looked rocky, and its body size was larger than that of ordinary zombies.
