Chapter 104: Vicious Zombie

Since they had worked together before, it took little didn’t effort for them to reach the first floor of the building. Before, they didn’t see any items they could take in the lobby.

When they got to the first floor, even though the place was chaotic, there were many items they could take later. It’s just that right now, they have to finish off the zombies that are there.

Zombies are difficult to conquer because their attacks become more vicious and deadly to humans. Theodore himself had felt this firsthand; several times, his attacks were parried by the zombies.

This means that Theodore can confirm that these zombies have indeed evolved. In fact, in his previous life, Theodore did not know what caused these zombies to evolve.

In fact, even animals and plants can gradually mutate and become dangerous to humans. So this time, Theodore also doesn’t need to learn what makes these zombies evolve.

But, indeed, during his previous life, during this period, these zombies began to become more innovative and potent. It’s just that not many people realize this because previously, only a few people dared to leave the base and choose to fight with zombies.

Only people who do not have shelter are likely to be required to continue fighting with the zombies. This kind of person will not likely last long.

If they can survive, then that person can certainly be influential. Only military people are aware of the changes that have occurred in these zombies.

Unfortunately, Odore and Cassian’s group, who have often dealt with zombies, will feel the changes from these zombies.

Now, these zombies attack them very fiercely. They are now smarter when swinging their claws. Knowing the vital points of the human body, the zombies started aiming to scratch Theodore’s neck.

To avoid the zombies’ dangerous claws, even someone like Theodore had to aim his sword to block the claws and, as best he could take the opportunity to push the zombies away from him.

The effectiveness of Theodore and the others’ attacks gradually decreased. It wasn’t easy for them to take down a single zombie now. It took a lot of effort for them to cut off the zombies’ heads.

"Damn! They’ve really become so strong!"

"I didn’t expect them to be this ferocious."

"Shouldn’t we do something about these zombies?!"

"It will take a long time for us to eliminate the zombies in this building."

Theodore, hearing the words of the people around him, was also thinking the same thing. It even seemed like it would take them a day to clear this one floor of these vicious zombies.

Theodore had no idea what to do, even if they had to do something. His cheap tricks were unlikely to work on these evolved zombies.

"We just beat them this hard. How can we capture one of them alive?"

"There’s no way we can do that."

Theodore furrowed his brow as he heard the conversation in his head. Wasn’t he listening wrong? How could they possibly intend to capture these zombies? They were alive.

Their entire group would die at the hands of these zombies if they did that. Theodore hoped he had just misheard because there was no way Cassian was thinking of capturing these zombies alive.

There was no time to ask about that as Theodore’s mind was immediately distracted to focus on the battle in front of him.

As they began to tire of this endless battle, something astonishing happened, making them have trouble coping.

The zombie figure in the middle row that Theodore and the others couldn’t see was doing something suspicious.

A moment later, suspicious purple smoke emerged. When Theodore saw and inhaled the smoke a little, the System immediately warned him.

Ding!

[The poison in the host’s body has been neutralized!]

Theodore was surprised when he received the series of notifications. He immediately realized that something was wrong with the purple smoke that began to fill the floor.

"Cover your noses! This purple smoke is poison!" Theodore quickly warned his friends not to inhale the purple smoke.

The others initially didn’t notice the suspicious purple smoke; they only realized that the air around them was starting to turn purple when they heard Theodore’s words.

The problem was that they were fighting zombies. If they decided to cover their noses with one hand, then they couldn’t attack the zombies accurately.

This also caused the others to not react quickly. Theodore, who realized this, immediately thought of returning to the ground floor to avoid this toxic smoke.

Because Theodore himself did not know what the side effects of this poison were, if this poison was deadly, then everyone in their group could die.

"Cassian, we need to go down to the ground floor. I need you to build a barrier on the stairs," Theodore said while shouting at Cassian.

"I got it! Everyone runs to the ground floor!" Cassian also realized that their situation was really bad.

Fortunately, everyone in their group could escape to the ground floor. Cassian and Theodore immediately set up a barrier wall in front of the elevator that connected the ground floor and the first floor.

When everyone had gathered on the ground floor, Theodore noticed that most of them were coughing and complaining that their heads were dizzy.

"That smoke is really toxic. It would have been hazardous if we had escaped too late," Theodore said as he breathed a sigh of relief that no one had died in their group until now.

"It’s a good thing you realized that otherwise, we’d be dead up there," Cassian said, thankful for Theodore’s actions.

"It would help if we had someone with healing powers," Theodore said later.

With a healer in their group, a poison like this would be easy to cure. It was just that people who had the power of a healer were very rare. Even in his previous life, Theodore had heard that only two people had this kind of power.

Somehow, after Theodore said that, he saw Cassian coughed uncomfortably and looked at him with concern.

After hearing his words, Theodore initially felt nothing and became suspicious of Cassian’s movements.
