Chapter 101: Outside World
Despite asking many people about their plans to merge groups, Theodore and the others have yet to find a suitable group. Because of the enthusiasm of the people, there weren’t many groups that didn’t have members.
So, Theodore still had to go around the place to ask people who were looking for group members.
"At this rate we may never find a group that can help us," Theodore said seriously.
"You’re right, I didn’t expect that there would be so many people interested in joining these groups." Roxanne also glanced around to monitor the people who were flocking to join a group.
"There’s still time for us to find a group that we can work with," Theodore said, not wanting to give up.
Theodore and the others continued down the street, asking for groups that were still short of people. But, again they were rejected, or they just said they would inform Theodore later if they couldn’t find anyone who wanted to join.
Just as they were about to give up hope of finding another group to work with, Theodore heard someone calling him from a distance.
As Theodore searched for who was calling him, he could see that it was Cassian who was calling him, he could also see that his group members were there.
Theodore approached Cassian while inviting Roxanne and Geoffrey to meet Cassian and his group. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
"I saw you questioning people. Do you intend to join them?" Cassian approached Theodore and his group.
"Actually, I have no intention of joining them. I just want to work together while bringing my own group," Theodore said as he explained what he was doing there.
"It turned out that way. Then why don’t you join us, we already know each other," Cassian replied casually inviting Theodore to work with him.
For a moment Theodore was silent because he didn’t think about Cassian’s group, if it was like this he didn’t need to run around to find people who were willing to work with him.
Theodore also turned to Roxanne to ask for her opinion. Fortunately, Roxanne did not object and allowed Theodore to make a decision on this matter. Theodore also thought that it would be fine if they joined Cassian.
"Then, you yourself don’t mind if I borrow your group’s name to join you guys to go out of base?" Although Theodore didn’t mind joining them, he wanted to hear the opinions of others.
"Why would we mind you and your group joining us? The more people the better," said Chelsea who had been standing next to Cassian.
Neville who had been behind Cassian suddenly poked his head out from behind Cassian’s body, "I’d love it if you joined us," Neville said with a big smile perched on his face.
"You heard it right. We don’t mind you coming," Cassian said with a smile to welcome Theodore to join them.
"Then I will no longer hesitate to join you." Theodore then invited Roxanne and Geoffrey to get acquainted with Cassian’s group.
There they discussed what they would do after the two groups merged into one. Theodore also asked when they would be leaving the base.
They had a lot to discuss and Cassian quietly told him what Victor had told him. Theodore began to think that their departure this time would also double as an assignment for the military.
. . .
After Theodore had previously discussed the matter of their departure from the base. And today was the day they were going to make the trip.
Since they intended to leave early in the morning, Theodore was already preparing at this time. From dawn Theodore had already prepared the food that he would bring during this trip, he intended to prepare quite a lot of food.
Given that they would be traveling for a long time, Theodore cooked a lot of food for his supplies.
After finishing preparing his supplies Theodore grabbed his backpack and left his apartment to pick up Roxanne and Geoffrey.
Theodore knocked on Roxanne’s apartment door to summon him, fortunately it didn’t take long until Roxanne and Geoffrey came out of their apartment fully prepared.
"It turns out that you guys are well prepared. Do you have any weapons to use later?" Theodore immediately asked about the completeness of their weaponry.
"I already have. My brother seems to need a better weapon, brother!" Geoffrey showed his spiked baseball bat.
"Do you have any other weapons I can borrow?" Roxanne, who did not have a weapon, decided to borrow a weapon from Theodore.
"No need to borrow, I have plenty." Theodore took the sword from his backpack and gave it to Roxanne.
Roxanne was stunned when she saw the sword Theodore gave her, fortunately it wasn’t as long as the one Theodore used. So it was easy for Roxanne to hold it.
"Then let’s go," said Theodore inviting the two of them to go to the underground parking lot of their apartment building.
Theodore had previously agreed with Cassian’s group to meet in the parking lot. Because the car they were going to use was stored there.
When he arrived at the parking lot Theodore already saw the Cassian group there with the car they were going to use. Theodore could even see that there was a truck that they were going to take out of the base.
"You’re good at getting trucks to take out of the base," Theodore said as he approached Cassian.
"I belong to the military, they were kind enough to lend it to me," Cassian replied while chuckling softly.
"Ahh I see. Then we should get a lot of stuff for their benefit." Theodore immediately knew what the military meant by lending Cassian a truck like this.
Cassian just laughed because he also knew for sure that Theodore understood what he meant by telling him this.
After talking for a while, they finally started to leave the parking lot for the west gate where they would exit the base and begin their expedition to explore the city.
"You guys go ahead, I’ll follow behind you," Theodore said from his car to Cassian’s group.
"Alright, follow us closely, there will be a lot of zombies when the gates open." Cassian also warned Theodore not to move away from their group.
Theodore, who understood the risk, did well. Slowly, the gate that separated the base from the outside world opened and several zombies that were in front of the gate immediately ran into the base.
Fortunately, the soldiers guarding the gate deftly shot the zombies while instructing the cars going out of the base to continue walking past the zombies.
There were currently many groups of cars intending to leave the base, not just Cassian and Theodore’s group, so it was quite easy for them to get out of the base.
It’s just that with so many people going out, it would be difficult for them to go to a place around the base as there would be many people who would directly target that place.
