Chapter 7: Saga 7—Curses! Back .....to School Again!

In this world, hunters are divided into 8 ranks: F, which was pretty common; at least 45 percent of hunters occupied this rank. E was still quite common, then C-rank. Hunters in this rank could hold their ground to some extent. B-rank—the gap between hunters here and hunters in the C-rank was quite huge compared to the gap between E and F-rank hunters.

A-rank. Hunters in this rank possessed the strength to take down beasts of the upper high-threat level with ease. Ninety-nine percent of prodigies stopped in this rank and did not advance any further.

Then there’s S-rank hunters, who are said to possess powers that rival demigods; only a handful of prodigies manage to reach this rank. Their popularity speaks for itself.

EX-rank. The hunters in this rank were so few that they could be counted. In the entirety of the world, there were only 24 EX-rank hunters, which were further divided into three different ranks.

Delta contained a total of 12 EX hunters. Beta and Alpha were merged together to form the Reveters, which comprised 12 hunters. The lower eight were known as Beta Reveters, with each hunter having abilities that rivaled those of the gods.

As for the upper four, known as Reveter Alpha, they were mysterious figures who were said to have been alive for centuries. Each of them possessed abilities that surpassed those of the gods (or so the rumours went).

The first of the Azure Blake that Kael saw was an elven lady—her pointy ears were longer than those of a normal elf, which immediately gave away that she was a high elf.

Known to possess insane mana aptitude that outclassed that of a normal elf, she sat gracefully on a witch’s broom that floated gently—constantly defying the laws of gravity.

Her hair was parted into two halves respectively—red and blue. The same went for her pupils: the one on the left was blue, while the pupil on the right was red, contradicting the part of hair they lay under.

Her sharp eyes looked as if they could pierce into one’s soul at a glance.

Next to her was a young human man dressed in Western attire—a cowboy hat covered his eyes, though strands of brown hair flowed from beneath the hat.

Two guns—one short and the other long—were strapped to each side of his waist respectively.

Immediately behind him was a dark-skinned male figure whose mouth was covered by a face scarf worn around his neck, and pointy ears shrouded by a hood. He had crystalline white hair. The sword scar on his right eye was the most prominent feature he possessed.

The fourth figure walked profoundly immediately in front of the other three. A fine human female beauty. Pristine white hair cascaded from her head down to her finely shaped hips—which just begged to be held.

Her medium-sized busty boobs and fat ass were the dream of every man. Cherry-coloured and succulent lips looked as if they would dissolve if kissed. Her crystalline blue eyes framed her face in an impeccably beautiful way.

Skin as white as the northern snow. The three swords that floated behind her accentuated her strength.

Kael was completely mesmerized at the sight of her.

’I never knew such a beautiful creature existed.’

The way he stared at her could pass as one of her daily stalkers. She flung her silky hair with a hand. Just as she turned her eyes to the side, they locked with Kael’s.

’Oh shit! She’s looking this way.’

Kael quickly adjusted his posture and facial expression—he didn’t want to look like some creep.

Kael felt a connection with her, though he didn’t know what exactly.

’Why do I feel I know h—’

[Target found!]

The system immediately alerted him that she was the one he was looking for.

’Huh?!—’

’Then she must be the Sword Princess.’

Kael was so lost in thought that he didn’t realize that the Sword Princess was standing right in front of him (literally).

"Could you excuse me?"

The Sword Princess sounded almost disgusted, or rather angry.

’Huh?!’

Kael finally came to—with the first thing he saw being the peerless beauty of the Sword Princess.

"Leader, you should be a little polite to the man, don’t you think?" the marksman cut in with a chuckle.

"Ehh... could you please excuse me for a sec? I’ll be right with you shortly."

The receptionist pleaded with Kael for his own good—to avoid a fight breaking out.

"Sure."

Kael shifted away from the counter.

’I’ve always liked bossy women—’

’Pull yourself together, man. You need to retrieve your system from her.’

A battle between Kael’s lustful desires and priorities was being waged.

The Sword Princess slammed a bloody sack on the counter. When the receptionist opened it, she was completely horrified.

’The head of an Elder Alligant.’

The receptionist stared incredulously at the traumatized head of a dead Alligant—which was a beast that fell under the maximal high-threat level. It took a party of at least twenty-five A-rank hunters to take one down—and it came with losses.

But an Elder Alligant was on a totally different threat scale—super maximal. Even a large party of A-rank hunters would barely stand a chance.

And yet this party of four S-rank hunters came out unmarred. A feat that was worthy of applause and praise.

"Your pay, as promised by the client."

The receptionist covered her nostrils due to the foul smell coming from the dead Elder Alligant’s head and dropped a medium-sized bag filled with gold coins.

The marksman grabbed the bag. "Thank you." He saluted the receptionist playfully.

And so Azure Blake left the guild hall. The instant they left, all the cheers ceased.

"Mister, you may come back now," the receptionist called Kael back to the counter.

"Forgive me for the delay," she added.

"Don’t worry, miss. It wasn’t your fault."

Kael brought out his metal plate licence and placed it on the counter.

The receptionist picked up his licence and went through it briefly.

"Hmm, from what I can see here, you discontinued your contract with your former guild...."

"Why?" she asked abruptly.

"Well, it’s personal," Kael sighed.

"I don’t plan to pry—"

"So let’s get to it then."

She placed the metal licence plate on the counter. Wisps of flame appeared around it, then consumed the licence whole.

"With that gone, you are free to register at our guild."

"Please fill in your details on this scroll."

She handed Kael an ink pen and a scroll.

"Okay."

Kael collected the scroll. After a short while, he finished filling in his details.

"Here you go."

He gave the receptionist back the scroll and pen.

"Nothing was missed."

"Please drop some blood on the scroll."

She placed the scroll on the counter.

Kael cut his finger, and droplets of blood fell onto the scroll.

The scroll began to illuminate with a bright golden light—suddenly it shrunk into a four-sided metal card.

"C-rank! Not bad at all."

The receptionist was a bit surprised. Few hunters started out at C-rank, even when re-registering.

Kael exchanged goodbyes with the receptionist and made his way out of the guild hall.

The transfer program would commence soon—so Kael had to hurry to the Regal Renodin Academy.

He stood before the large metal gate with a profound grimace.

"Curses! Back.....to School Again!"
