Chapter 32: I Don’t Want To Bath.

The air surrounding the woman suddenly started to shift, and a vein popped through her forehead. "You dare talk badly about me?!"

She started walking toward Leon, and a fierce blue aura of mana surged from her body, enveloping her entirely.

Leon instinctively took a step back. The moment he felt the pressure, his gaze darted toward the kitchen.

Without wasting another second, he turned around and bolted.

"I-I just remembered I have to make breakfast!" he shouted as he ran. "Ta-da~!"

In the blink of an eye, he disappeared into the kitchen, leaving the woman standing there with a twitching eyebrow.

A small sigh escaped through her mouth, hands travelled down to her waist. "Such a strange family it is, a single dad living with his son."

She was about to turn around and leave, but a loud growl came out through her stomach. Her head dropped down, cheeks started to turn red as her gaze swept across the garden to see if someone heard it or not.

Luckily for her, there wasn’t anyone present in the garden at that time. She took a deep breath as she muttered. "It would have been incredibly troublesome if someone had overheard that."

She paused briefly before reaching into her pocket and pulling out a small pouch of coins. Emptying a few into her palm, she glanced down at them and frowned.

A displeased expression crossed her face. "I should have brought more money with me."

Without wasting more of her time, she walked towards the main gate to leave, but before she could.

A soft yet soothing voice fell inside her ears, and her head turned instantly. She noticed that Sylas was standing there, and an apple was in his hand.

"I’m not hungry, you can have this." He directed his hand toward and offered the apple.

A bright smile spread across her lips as she crouched down to Sylas’s eye level. "Aww, thank you so much, little one."

She gently took the apple from his hand and took a small bite. The moment the sweetness touched her tongue, her eyes fluttered shut. Resting a hand beneath her chin, she let out a contented sigh.

"Mmm... I was so hungry that even an apple tastes wonderful right now," she muttered with a smile.

"Hehehe!!"

She directed her other hand forward as she started patting Sylas’s head. "So what’s your name, child?"

He tilted his head slightly. "I’m Sylas."

"What’s your name?!" he asked curiously.

A warm smile appeared on her face as she looked at him. "Sylas... that’s such a lovely name."

She placed a hand against her chest and gave a slight nod. "As for me, my name is Sylvia Beaumont."

A small yet warm smile tugged Sylas’s lips. "You have a wonderful name, too, Miss Sylvia."

She placed her hand against her mouth, covering it. "There’s no need to call me a ’miss’ Sylas," she took a small pause, as she leaned closer to him. "You can call me sister." ƒгeewebnovёl.com

But before they could continue their conversation, Kael’s voice fell in their ears. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

"Sylas, it’s time for your bath." He paused briefly before adding, "Stop lingering around and come here."

Sylas suddenly froze the moment he heard the mention of ’bath’. Without wasting another second, he instantly took cover behind Sylvia.

A bead of sweat appeared on her temple as she asked. "What’s it, Sylas?"

"Why are you hiding behind me? Don’t tell me you’re scared of taking a bath." She let out a small laugh. "Haha."

"The water around this time is super cold, and I don’t like that." He said, voice low.

A small chuckle escaped through Sylvia’s mouth, but before she could continue talking to Sylas, her gaze fell on Kael, who was walking towards them.

"Sylas, come here."

Instead of complying, Sylas started to insist. "No... I don’t want to take a bath."

A small sigh escaped through Kael’s mouth as he muttered. "Don’t worry, the water today isn’t as cold as usual."

After saying that, he bent down and lifted Sylas into his arms. "And even if that’s the reason," he continued, "I’ll have Leon heat some water for you. A warm bath should make it easier."

Sylas took a deep breath and puffed his cheeks out. "No no no no!!" Sylas shook his head multiple times before continuing. "I don’t want to take a bath!!"

But Kael paid no attention to his protests. Carrying Sylas in his arms, he simply walked toward the room beside the kitchen, the one that had been set aside as a bathroom.

Before he left entirely, his gaze turned towards Sylvia. "When are you planning to leave?"

"You even stole an apple?"

The sudden question caught Sylvia completely off guard. Her cheeks flushed bright red as embarrassment swept over her. Leaning forward, she clenched her fists and waved them in front of her.

"N-No, it’s not like that!" She paused for a moment, trying to compose herself before continuing.

"Sylas only gave it to me because I was hungry, got it?" she said, her face still burning with shame. "Don’t go getting weird ideas."

Kael didn’t pay much attention to her remarks; he kept walking forward. "Sure."

Sylvia remained standing there as she watched Kael’s back until he left entirely. "Such a weird man he is."

She took another bite of her apple. "I should complete the mission for which I came in this county," she muttered.

Kael had taken Sylas to the bathroom. Inside were two large bathtubs, each spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a grown man. A polished mirror was mounted on the wall between them, reflecting the warm light that filled the room.

He walked towards the tub, water was already filled inside it. ’I told Leon to fill the tub a while ago, for the first time, he didn’t ignore his tasks.’
