Chapter 51: Chapter 51: The Seal of Bloodflare and the Red Light
After grabbing the shovel, Ryutaro hurried towards the red light.
The shovel in Ryutaro’s hand asked him why he had called it again.
"By the way, why did you call me again?" said the shovel.
"It’s because my father told me to," replied Ryutaro.
"Your father? You mean Kevin?" asked the shovel.
"You know him?" asked Ryutaro.
"Of course! Did you forget that I’m the first hero created by Kevin?" the shovel replied.
"I remember you saying that when we first met, but why didn’t you tell me that my father was the first hero?" Ryutaro asked.
"Well, if Kevin hadn’t told me to hide it, I would have told you right away," the shovel answered.
Hearing the legendary shovel’s confession, Ryutaro immediately asked his father.
"So why did you tell the shovel to hide this from me?" Ryutaro asked.
His father, speaking directly to his mind, answered, "Well, I thought it would be better for me to tell you directly. Besides, if you had known from the start, you probably wouldn’t have believed it, would you?"
"You’re right. If I hadn’t met him in person, I probably wouldn’t have believed it," Ryutaro agreed.
The shovel then interrupted Ryutaro’s conversation with his father.
"Kevin, I’ve been waiting for you for so long," said the shovel.
Ryutaro, shocked that the shovel could speak directly into his mind, asked, "Wait, you can talk here?"
"Of course, that’s an easy thing for me. After all, I was made by Kevin," the shovel explained.
"Ah, I see. Well, go ahead and answer the question. I won’t bother you until I reach the location," Ryutaro said.
Ryutaro then returned to the real world and continued his journey towards the location of the red light.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Grace and the others were talking.
"So, Rin, from what Ryutaro just told us, is it the same as what you thought?" asked Miyuki.
"Yes, it’s just as I thought," Rin replied.
"So how strong is that sword, really?" Grace asked.
"Yeah, I’m curious too. It needs the user’s blood and soul to control it," Aurelia added.
"The Bloodflare sword, right? Back when Kevin, Valen, and I were a team to fight the Children of Ruin, that sword was incredibly powerful. Even if you don’t have strong enough magic, you could faint instantly," Rin said.
"Is the sword really that terrifying?" Alice asked.
"Yeah, that day, when Valen used just a bit of his power, 2 or 3 mountains split apart," Rin explained.
"If it’s that terrifying, why was Valen able to use it?" Grace asked.
"I don’t know either. Valen just told us that the sword drains the user’s blood and soul," Rin replied.
"Is that so? Hearing your story makes me worried about Charlotte," Aurelia said.
"You’re right, Aurelia, especially since she just regained consciousness from my mother’s brainwashing," Alice added.
"Yeah, that’s why we should go check if it’s really Charlotte or not," Rin said.
After talking for a while, they finally reached the entrance of the underground cave.
Upon arrival, they saw Orphesius, Zarek, and Sylvara waiting at the entrance.
"You guys are so slow. We’ve been here for a while," Orphesius said.
"Did you guys wait for us?" Grace asked.
"Of course not. If there wasn’t a barrier at the cave entrance, we would have gone in already," Zarek replied.
"He’s right. We tried many ways, but none of them worked," Sylvara said.
"A barrier? What kind of barrier could stop the strongest general of Ashen Fang?" Aurelia asked.
"Well, that’s something we don’t know, and it’s really frustrating," Zarek replied.
Not long after, Lilith appeared from behind Rin.
"Ah, there’s the traitor," Orphesius sneered.
"Stop talking about that. Shouldn’t we focus on figuring out how to open the barrier?" Alice said.
"And if you try to take it, I won’t hesitate to fight you," Aurelia added.
Grace and Alice were both confused by Aurelia’s defense of Lilith, since when they first found out Lilith was a member of Ashen Fang, Aurelia had been insistent on killing her.
"(Whispering) Since when did she become like this?" Alice whispered.
"I don’t know. It seems something happened between them when we left," Grace replied.
Sylvara, hearing Aurelia’s words, spoke up.
"She is a traitor, but we can talk about that later," Sylvara said.
"Alright, then," Aurelia agreed.
Meanwhile, in Ryutaro’s mind, the legendary shovel spoke again. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
"So, why did you ask your son to bring me?" the shovel asked.
"It’s because the Bloodflare seal has been broken," Ryutaro’s father answered.
"The Bloodflare sword? Isn’t that Valen’s sword? And it can only be unlocked by Valen’s reincarnation?" the shovel asked.
"Yes, you’re right, that’s why I’m suspicious that Charlotte might be Valen’s reincarnation," Ryutaro’s father said.
"Charlotte? The warrior of the church who was betrayed by her own army?" the shovel asked.
"She was also betrayed by them?" Ryutaro’s father asked.
"Yes, isn’t that just like what happened to Valen back then?" the shovel replied.
"Well, I guess that’s enough to prove that she’s his reincarnation. Truly, fate plays tricks on them," Ryutaro’s father said.
After discussing this, the legendary shovel asked Ryutaro’s father what he was going to do next.
"So, what will you do if the Bloodflare seal is really broken?" the shovel asked.
"Of course, I will use it," Ryutaro’s father said.
"Use it? But wait, you’re just a soul now, right?" the shovel asked.
"Yeah, I can’t do it myself, but I’ll teach Riku how to unlock the seal," Ryutaro’s father said.
"Riku? You mean Ryutaro?" the shovel asked.
"Yeah, his real name is Riku. Since I placed him in that world, I think the family who adopted him gave him the name Ryutaro," Ryutaro’s father explained.
"You’re right. But have you told him about this?" the shovel asked.
"I’ve told him, but he still uses the name Riku. So, I just go along with it," Ryutaro’s father replied.
"I see," the shovel said.
Soon after, Ryutaro spoke to them as he neared the location of the red light.
"Sorry to interrupt your conversation," Ryutaro said.
"It’s alright. We’re actually done talking. What’s happening?" the shovel asked.
"The location of the red light is close, so I called both of you," Ryutaro explained.
"Already close? Then go ahead and tell them about it," Ryutaro’s father said.
"Are you sure it’s okay to tell them about the seal?" the shovel asked. freёwebnoѵel.com
"Yeah, anyway, soon they’ll be using the seal to release your true form," Ryutaro’s father replied.
"True. Well, I’ll go now," the shovel said.
The shovel returned to the real world.
"So, what were you two talking about? Why couldn’t I hear anything, even though you were in my mind?" Ryutaro asked.
"You couldn’t hear? Typical Kevin... Well, it’s not a big deal. You’ll find out soon enough," the shovel replied.
"Well, I’ll figure it out later," Ryutaro said.
After speaking with the shovel, Ryutaro finally arrived at the entrance of the underground cave.
When he arrived, he was puzzled as to why they hadn’t entered yet.
"Oni-chan, you finally arrived!" Lilith said.
"Yeah, I’ve arrived. By the way, why didn’t you go in first?" Ryutaro asked.
"We were about to, but Orphesius and the others said there’s a barrier at the cave entrance that stops us from entering," Grace explained.
"That’s right, so you didn’t go in first," Aurelia added.
"So you didn’t even try to enter?" Ryutaro asked.
"No, we didn’t go in because we were afraid something would happen to us," Alice replied.
"I see," Ryutaro said.
After hearing their words, Ryutaro headed toward the cave entrance.
Right in front of the cave entrance, Orphesius called out and mocked him for bringing a shovel.
"Yo, you arrived... Pfttt, you came here with a shovel? Hahaha, are you going to farm or what?" Orphesius said.
"Shut up. At least I can enter. You’ve been here for so long but still can’t get in," Ryutaro replied.
"Oh? You think you can get into the cave? Interesting. Prove it then," Orphesius challenged.
"Fine, I’ll prove it," Ryutaro said.
After accepting Orphesius’ challenge, Ryutaro stood at the cave entrance, filled with doubts about whether he could get in or not.
"Damn, why did I agree to this? I don’t even know if I can get in," Ryutaro muttered to himself.
But the shovel, knowing his thoughts, spoke up.
"Are you doubting yourself? Don’t you trust me?" the shovel asked.
"Yeah, I don’t know if I can get in or not," Ryutaro replied.
"Just try entering. You’ll see," the shovel encouraged.
"Are you sure?" Ryutaro asked.
"Yeah, just go in," the shovel said.
After hearing the shovel, Ryutaro tried entering, and surprisingly, he managed to enter the cave as if there was no barrier blocking the entrance.
"Wow, you were right! I can get in! Hey, Orphesius, see? I can get in!" Ryutaro said.
Orphesius, seeing Ryutaro enter so easily, couldn’t believe it.
"That’s impossible! How did you get in?" Orphesius asked.
"Well, isn’t it obvious? I can get in," Ryutaro replied.
Still not believing it, Orphesius tried to enter but was thrown back.
After seeing Orphesius get thrown back, Ryutaro laughed.
"Hahaha, you didn’t get in, huh? Well, I’ll go ahead," Ryutaro said.
"Damn, why can’t I get in?" Orphesius muttered.
Ryutaro then ventured deeper into the cave, but on the way, he asked the shovel why it was so easy for him to get in.
Why was Ryutaro able to enter the cave so easily? And will he find Charlotte inside the cave? Find out in Chapter 52!
