Chapter 46: Chapter 46: The Unfolding Confrontation

As Ryutaro helplessly watched Lilith’s behavior, Miyuki suddenly approached him.

"Ryutaro, it’s bad," Miyuki said.

"What’s wrong?" Ryutaro replied.

"It seems like we are surrounded outside," Miyuki explained.

"Surrounded? Is it Alice’s troops surrounding us?" Ryutaro asked.

"It doesn’t seem like it, they are using mechanical dragons," Miyuki said.

"Mechanical dragons? Could it be...?" Aurelia wondered aloud.

"If that’s the case, then let’s go outside first. Aurelia, keep an eye on Lilith while we step out," Ryutaro instructed.

"Why should I watch over the former Shadow Fang, especially since she’s one of their strongest generals?" Aurelia complained.

"Just don’t ask too many questions," Ryutaro said.

"Fine, since you asked," Aurelia sighed.

Reluctantly, Aurelia agreed to watch over Lilith while Ryutaro and the others went out to see if their suspicions were true.

While Ryutaro and the others were outside, Aurelia still couldn’t shake off her suspicions about Lilith and wondered what her true intentions were.

"What exactly are you planning?" Aurelia asked.

"Eh, nothing! As I said earlier, I just want Ryutaro-onichan to be my older brother," Lilith stammered. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

"Don’t lie! How could you ask him to be your brother when you’ve just met him? You must have a hidden agenda," Aurelia accused.

"I swear I don’t! If I had any hidden motives, why would I tell Ryutaro-onichan about Azrael-sama’s plan?" Lilith defended herself.

"But that could also be part of your cunning plan, revealing your own scheme to gain their trust," Aurelia suggested.

Seeing that Aurelia still didn’t believe her, Lilith decided to tell her the truth, hoping she would believe her.

"Alright, if you don’t believe me, I’ll tell you the real reason why I want Ryutaro-onichan to be my brother, even though this is the first time we’ve met," Lilith said.

"Aha, so you’re finally going to reveal your true intentions?" Aurelia remarked.

"If you want to think of it that way, go ahead, I won’t stop you," Lilith replied.

"Alright, enough talk. Now, tell me your reason for wanting Ryutaro to be your brother," Aurelia urged.

"Okay. Back when I was in Shadow Fang, I was always forced to seduce my targets, something I hated. Why was I born with such a skill? I had to adapt to it just so I wouldn’t be forced to use it anymore. I had to act like I accepted it fully. One day, when I wanted to return to my base, I saw Ryutaro-onichan talking to the Demon Queen, Grace, from afar. Even though Ryutaro-onichan was forced to marry the Demon Queen, he didn’t feel pressured. That’s when I hoped to meet him in person. One day, Azrael-sama ordered me to seduce him. I acted like I was eager to see his face after seducing him, but deep inside, I was actually happy because I could meet him. However, when I arrived, he wasn’t home. I waited inside, and that’s when a hoe in the corner of the room spoke to me. It told me that Ryutaro is no ordinary person. Despite being humiliated by the kingdom, he still smiles. That’s when I decided to make him my brother, so I could learn from him and hopefully, one day, always smile even when humiliated," Lilith explained.

Aurelia listened to Lilith’s explanation and softened a bit towards her, though she still remained cautious.

"Is what you’re saying true?" Aurelia asked.

"Yes, I’m not lying," Lilith confirmed.

"Do you swear by your name that everything you’ve said is true?" Aurelia pressed.

Lilith was shocked by the question, knowing that such a vow was the highest one. Anyone who broke it would disappear from this world.

"Why won’t you swear? You said you’re not lying. Could it be that your story was just made up?" Aurelia challenged.

"N-no! I was just shocked that you asked me to swear like that," Lilith stammered.

"Well, if you’re not scared, go ahead and take the oath," Aurelia insisted.

Lilith, still shaken, gathered herself and began the oath to prove her honesty.

"I, Lilith, former member of the fifth general of the strongest Ashen Fang, swear by my name that everything I just said is true. If I am lying, I will disappear from this world," Lilith vowed.

Aurelia was amazed at Lilith’s courage to make such a vow. It showed that she was willing to risk everything to prove her sincerity.

"So, what now? Do you believe me?" Lilith asked.

"Good. You’re the first person I’ve met who’s willing to take such an oath. I’ll start watching over you and keeping track of your movements," Aurelia said.

"Alright then. Can I ask for one thing from you?" Lilith asked.

"Oh? Now you dare ask me for something? Fine, what do you want?" Aurelia raised an eyebrow.

"I-I want to call you ’onee-chan’. Is that okay?" Lilith asked nervously.

Aurelia was taken aback by Lilith’s request.

"Uh-uh, are you sure? You want to call me that?" Aurelia asked, stunned.

"Yes, I want to call you that. Is it not allowed?" Lilith pressed.

"Well, if you really want to, go ahead," Aurelia finally agreed. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

Lilith smiled happily, relieved that Aurelia allowed her to call her ’onee-chan’.

Just then, someone appeared in front of them.

"So, this is what you’ve been planning, huh, Lilith?" a voice said.

Aurelia immediately pulled Lilith behind her to protect her.

"Who are you?" Aurelia demanded.

"Me? Fine, since you don’t recognize me, let me introduce myself. My name is Valerius," the figure replied.

"Valerius? Are you the sixth member of the ten strongest generals of Ashen Fang?" Aurelia asked.

"Yes, that’s me. Now, if you know who I am, hand her over and I’ll let you go unharmed," Valerius said.

"Tch, you’re just the sixth member. You think you can take her? Don’t even try," Aurelia retorted.

Aurelia prepared to fight Valerius, determined to protect Lilith.

Meanwhile, outside, Ryutaro was surprised to find himself face to face with Orpheus.

"Yo, it’s been a long time, huh, Ryutaro?" Orpheus greeted.

"Orpheus? What are you doing here?" Ryutaro asked.

Miyuki and Alice were shocked to hear Ryutaro recognize him.

"You know who he is, Ryutaro?" Miyuki asked.

"Of course. He’s the tenth member of the ten strongest generals of Ashen Fang, Orpheus," Ryutaro replied.

"Wait, the infamous Ashen Fang group?" Alice asked in surprise.

"Do you know about Ashen Fang?" Miyuki asked.

"Of course. They’re a group of powerful dragon hunters in the world," Alice explained.

Charlotte added, "They hunt dragons to gain their powers."

"Is that really him, Ryutaro?" Miyuki asked.

"Yes, that’s him. You didn’t hear it wrong," Ryutaro confirmed.

"But how did you meet them?" Miyuki asked.

Grace then explained how Ryutaro first encountered Orpheus.

"When we first met Aurelia, she was being chased by one of their members. Ryutaro saved her and fought against them. When their member was cornered, Orpheus showed up. At first, their fight was evenly matched, but Ryutaro ended up winning. Orpheus, thinking he couldn’t win, decided to retreat," Grace explained.

"I see," Alice said.

"Haha, well, the introductions are over. Now, it’s time for our rematch, Ryutaro," Orpheus said with a grin.

"Alright then. Let’s see how much you’ve grown," Ryutaro replied.

Orpheus charged at Ryutaro, ready to fight.

What will happen to Ryutaro? Will he win against Orpheus again, or will Orpheus triumph this time? And what will become of Aurelia and Lilith as they face Valerius, the sixth member of Ashen Fang’s ten strongest generals? Stay tuned for Chapter 47.
