Chapter 30: Chapter 30: The Secret of Riku Alastair Yami

The woman asked for my help.

"Please help me," she said.

Without hesitation, I helped her.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Sorry, aren’t you ashamed of chasing a woman?" Kevin said.

"That’s none of your business. Move aside or we’ll make you regret it," one of them said.

"Try if you can," Kevin replied.

I quickly struck them down.

"How is it possible for you to be alone and defeat us?" one of them asked.

"That’s right, who are you?" another one asked.

"Me? I am Kevin," Kevin said.

"Kevin? Wait, don’t tell me you’re that hero?" they asked.

"Oh, you know about me? Well, leave before I change my mind," Kevin said.

Hearing this, they quickly fled in a hurry.

"Phew, it’s finally over," Kevin said.

"Ah... thank you for helping me," the woman said.

"It’s no problem. By the way, what’s your name?" Kevin asked.

"My name is Celine," she replied.

"Oh, Celine? That’s a nice name. By the way, what were you doing that made those people chase you?" Kevin asked.

"Before that, could we talk somewhere more private?" Celine asked.

"Alright, how about we go to my palace?" Kevin suggested.

"Your palace? Fine then," Celine agreed.

We both entered the city and headed to my palace.

Upon arriving at the palace:

"Now that we’re safe, tell me what happened," Kevin said.

"Alright, but can you come a little closer?" Celine asked.

I moved closer to Celine, unaware of her hidden motives, and suddenly she bit my neck.

"Tsk, what are you doing?" Kevin said.

"So this is the taste of a hero’s blood? It’s so sweet," Celine said.

"Blood? Wait, are you from the vampire race?" Kevin asked.

"Of course, I am from the vampire race," Celine replied.

Upon hearing this, I was shocked.

"Isn’t the vampire race supposed to be extinct?" Kevin asked.

"Of course not. I am the last descendant of the vampire race," Celine said.

"The last descendant? I never thought there would be any vampires left," Kevin said.

"Well, that’s the way it is," Celine replied.

I could only accept it as she had already drunk my blood.

"Now that you’ve drunk my blood, explain why they were chasing you," Kevin said.

"Alright, I’ll tell you. They were all followers of Xerathos," Celine said.

"Xerathos? You mean the Dark God who’s known for his cruelty?" Kevin asked.

"Yes, those followers of the Dark God were chasing me," Celine confirmed.

"And why were they chasing you?" Kevin asked.

"Of course, because I am the last descendant of the vampire race. That’s why they are after me," Celine explained.

"What do they want to do with you?" Kevin asked.

"They’re using the blood of the vampire race to break Xerathos’ seal so he can come into this world," Celine said.

"Wait, is that why the vampire race became extinct, and only you remain?" Kevin asked.

"You’re right. That’s why the vampire race was wiped out, and I am the last one left," Celine said.

Hearing this, I felt sympathy for her.

"Alright, you can stay here," Kevin said.

"Really, after everything I told you?" Celine asked.

"Yes, as long as you don’t randomly drink my blood," Kevin said.

"Alright, but I can’t promise anything," Celine replied.

We both decided to live together.

One year later, our child was born safely into this world. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

"Oeek... oeekk..."

"Look, our child has been born safely," Celine said.

"That’s right. What should we name him?" Kevin asked.

"It’s up to you, as long as it has a good meaning," Celine said.

"Hmm, how about the name Riku Alastair Yami? A name that suits him, with your vampire blood and my hero blood?" Kevin suggested.

"Hmm, that’s a nice name. Alright, from now on, he is Riku Alastair Yami," Kevin declared.

We both agreed on that name.

Back to the present:

"So that was your past story, Kevin?" Ryutaro asked.

"Yes, that was my past," Kevin replied.

"But what does that have to do with me?" Ryutaro asked.

"Don’t you realize yet, Ryutaro? Riku Alastair Yami is you," Kevin said.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Ryutaro asked.

"As I said, Riku Alastair Yami is you. In other words, you are my child with Celine," Kevin explained.

Ryutaro was stunned by Kevin’s words.

"How can that be? Isn’t that from so long ago?" Ryutaro asked.

"That’s because I brought you to that world. You are the child that Xerathos wanted," Kevin revealed.

"So that’s why I was all alone in that world without parents?" Ryutaro realized.

"Yes, that’s the reason. We wanted to protect you from Xerathos," Kevin said.

Without realizing it, Ryutaro’s tears began to fall as he realized he had been alone all this time.

"Do you know how lonely I’ve been without you? Do you understand how miserable I am, having no parents? Every time I came home from school, I was all alone with no parents to greet me," Ryutaro said, crying.

"I’m sorry, my son. I only wanted to protect you from Xerathos," Kevin said.

"Well, if that’s the case, can I call you father?" Ryutaro asked.

"Of course, why would I stop my own child from calling me father?" Kevin replied.

After calming down, Ryutaro asked his father where his mother was.

"By the way, father, what happened to mother?" Ryutaro asked.

Kevin explained where Celine was now.

"Your mother is in Nocthollow Vale. She is being held captive by Xerathos," Kevin said.

"Nocthollow Vale? Where is that?" Ryutaro asked.

"It’s at the western edge of the world, beyond the Erevos Mountains, always shrouded in eternal black fog," Kevin explained.

"Oh, I see. Well, I will save mother later," Ryutaro said.

"I believe in you, my son," Kevin said, smiling as he looked at his son’s determination.

"(Pointing to Alex) Oh, you must be wondering about him, right?" Kevin said.

"Ah, now that you mention it?" Alex said.

"Hehehe, I forgot about you. So, who is he, father?" Ryutaro asked.

"He is your manifestation as a vampire," Kevin said.

"So Alex controls the vampire powers, and I control the hero powers, right?" Ryutaro asked.

"You’re right. He is you, and you are him," Kevin said.

As they were chatting, Kevin slowly disappeared from before them.

"It seems my time is up," Kevin said.

"But father, I still have many questions I want to ask you," Ryutaro said.

"Don’t worry. I won’t be far. If you want to ask anything else, just ask your system. I’ve modified it for you," Kevin reassured.

"Alright then, goodbye, father," Ryutaro said.

"Alright, I’ll leave now. Don’t forget, when you save your mother, tell her I love you both," Kevin said.

"Alright, I’ll deliver your message, father," Ryutaro said.

Kevin disappeared from before them.

"Then, let’s head back," Ryutaro said.

Ryutaro returned from that realm to the real world.

Upon arriving in the real world, Ryutaro looked around and realized that the events he just experienced had only been a few seconds after he put on the ring Alice’s father had given him.

"What’s wrong, darling?" Grace asked.

"Nothing. What’s more important now is that we plan Alice’s rescue," Ryutaro replied.

"You’re right. I’ll call Aurelia and Charlotte here to plan Alice’s rescue," Grace said.

"Alright, then call them here," Ryutaro said.

Grace left the room to call Aurelia and Charlotte, leaving Ryutaro and Alice’s father in the room.

"Alright, after Alice’s rescue, I will plan the rescue of my mother," Ryutaro thought to himself.

What will their plan to save Alice be? And how will they react when they find out Ryutaro is the child of the first hero, Kevin? Stay tuned for Chapter 31.
