Chapter 680: Dying Once Was Worth It

Kaelvar and Rovak collided in the storm-filled sky.

BOOOOM!

Blood-red energy and crimson-gold flames exploded outward, tearing apart the clouds around them.

Rovak laughed wildly as his fist slammed toward Kaelvar’s chest. "Hahaha! Come on, dragon boy! Show me what dying once gave you!"

Kaelvar blocked with [Varkairos], but the force still sent him flying backward.

Worse than that, Rovak’s earlier roar was still affecting him.

Anger kept rising inside Kaelvar’s chest like a fire that refused to calm down.

He gritted his teeth. "Damn it... your roar is annoying."

Rovak grinned. "Good! Get angrier!"

He shot forward again and clawed across Kaelvar’s shoulder.

SLASH!

Blood sprayed out.

Rovak’s grin widened immediately.

His Drakhor ability reached toward the blood, trying to disturb it, control it, and use the battle itself to recover.

The next moment, his expression changed.

The instant Kaelvar’s blood left his body, it ignited.

FWOOM!

Crimson-gold flames burned through the air and struck Rovak’s arm instead.

Rovak’s eyes widened. "Oh?"

Kaelvar’s wound closed with burning flame, and his aura surged even higher.

His blood was no longer ordinary blood.

The moment it left his body, it became dragon flame.

Rovak could heal from his own blood, but he could not heal from Kaelvar’s. He could not absorb it, control it, or use it.

All he had done was make Kaelvar angrier.

Kaelvar’s red dragon pupils sharpened, and a furious grin spread across his face. "You wanted me mad, right?"

The flames around [Varkairos] roared violently.

"Fine." His voice became rougher. "Then I’ll be mad."

Kaelvar vanished.

Rovak barely raised his arms in time.

BOOOOM!

Kaelvar’s spear smashed into him like a falling sun.

Rovak was blasted downward through the storm, laughing even as his body burned. "Hahaha! That’s it!"

Kaelvar followed instantly.

Every time Rovak injured him, more flame-blood erupted.

Every drop became fire.

Every wound turned into fuel.

Every roar from Rovak only fed the dragon flame even more, making Kaelvar madder and stronger.

Kaelvar no longer fought like the calm Ignis Dragon genius from before.

He fought like a mad dragon that had finally been released.

His spear attacks became faster, heavier, and more brutal. [Varkairos] tore through the storm again and again, each strike carrying enough flame to turn the sky red.

Rovak kept laughing and fighting back, but his healing slowly began to fail.

His body could recover from his own damage, but Kaelvar’s flames kept burning through the wounds and stopping them from closing properly.

For the first time, Rovak’s grin became strained. "Damn... this is bad."

Kaelvar appeared above him, both hands gripping [Varkairos].

His entire body burned like a dragon made of wrath. "Too late."

He thrust the spear downward.

FWOOM!

A massive crimson-gold flame dragon descended from the sky and swallowed Rovak whole.

BOOOOOOM!

The explosion shook the entire temporary base below.

A few moments later, Rovak crashed into the ground, smoking, burned, and completely unable to stand.

Kaelvar landed nearby, breathing heavily, flames still raging around him.

Rovak stared at him for a second before laughing weakly. "Hahaha... I lost."

Kaelvar pointed [Varkairos] at him with a fierce, almost crazed grin. "Of course."

The crimson-gold flames around him surged once more. "I am Kaelvar Ignis."

---

A few moments after the explosion faded, Rovak and Kaelvar returned to the training area.

Rovak landed first.

BOOM!

His massive body hit the ground heavily, still smoking from the crimson-gold flames.

His clothes were burned in several places, his skin was covered in scorched marks, and one side of his face looked like it had been blasted by a small sun.

Kaelvar landed beside him a moment later.

Compared to Rovak, he looked much better, but his breathing was still rough.

The flames around his body slowly faded, and [Varkairos] disappeared as his Unsealed State withdrew.

The training area was completely silent.

Feron, Iris, Varka, Loraine, Erlin, Azton, Oriana, Slifera, Elisa, Alira, and even Giselle were all staring at them.

Feron’s mouth slowly opened. "What... the hell was that?"

Iris’s eyes were wide, her dragon instincts clearly shaken. "That fight looked simple, but..."

Azton finished quietly, "It wasn’t simple at all."

Everyone understood what he meant.

Compared to the huge Star Realm battles they had seen before, Rovak and Kaelvar’s fight had not looked overly flashy.

There were no endless techniques, no massive domains, no complicated battlefield control, and no long exchanges of countless skills.

It was just blood, flame, fists, spear, and raw power. Somehow, that made it feel even more terrifying.

Every clash had carried a frightening amount of force. Every wound had changed the flow of battle. Every burst of bloodlust and flame felt like it could crush their bodies if they stood too close.

Varka’s wild grin had completely returned. "Hahaha... that was crazy."

Loraine’s expression was unusually serious. "That was not an ordinary Star Realm battle."

Erlin nodded softly. "Their energy control was rough, but the pressure behind each move was abnormal."

Oriana looked at Kaelvar with narrowed golden eyes. "And he gained that power in one day."

Those words made the entire group fall silent again.

Kaelvar exhaled and glanced at them. "Now you understand."

Feron swallowed. "Understand what?"

Kaelvar raised one hand.

A small crimson-gold flame appeared above his palm, burning quietly while making the air tremble. "This."

He clenched his fist, crushing the flame. "Dying once gave me this power in a single day."

Rovak laughed loudly despite his burned body. "Hahaha! Good, right?"

Everyone looked at him.

Rovak pointed at Kaelvar with his thumb. "That’s what I told you. Garion’s training is insane, but the result is real."

Kaelvar nodded slowly. "It’s terrifying, painful, and completely ridiculous."

His red eyes swept across the group. "If you survive it, you won’t regret it."

Feron stared at Kaelvar, then slowly looked toward the direction Garion had taken Azton.

For the first time, his lazy expression was gone. "Damn."

His voice became quiet. "Maybe dying once really is worth it."

The moment those words left Feron’s mouth, Iris, Varka, Loraine, and Erlin all turned toward him at the same time, not believing him at all.
