Chapter 679: Death Was Never a Metaphor

Azton left with Garion while still looking slightly confused.

Kaelvar’s warning kept echoing in his mind.

"Be prepared."

He understood the words, but for some reason, the way Kaelvar said them made his chest feel heavier.

The moment Garion and Azton disappeared from the training area, Feron immediately turned toward Kaelvar. "Alright, explain."

Kaelvar looked at him. "Explain what?"

Feron pointed toward the direction Azton had left. "That. What the hell did you mean by ’be prepared’? What kind of hidden ultimate training is it?"

Iris, Varka, Loraine, Erlin, Oriana, Slifera, and Elisa all focused on Kaelvar as well.

Even Alira quietly looked over.

Kaelvar stayed silent for a moment before turning toward Rovak. "Can I say it?"

Rovak scratched his head. "Don’t ask me. I don’t know what Garion wants to keep secret."

Kaelvar’s mouth twitched.

Rovak thought for a second, then shrugged. "Well, seeing as all of them are about to go through it anyway, it should be fine."

Kaelvar nodded slowly. "Alright."

The training area became quiet.

Kaelvar looked over everyone and said, "The hidden ultimate training is not exactly training."

Feron frowned. "What does that mean?"

Kaelvar raised one hand and clenched his fist. A faint red flame flickered around his fingers, sharper and purer than before. "It’s more like a body rebuild."

Everyone’s expressions changed.

Kaelvar continued, "That’s why Rovak and I could suddenly become Star Realm. Garion isn’t just helping us break through normally. He’s forcibly rebuilding the body until it becomes a true Star Realm existence."

The entire training area fell silent.

Oriana’s golden eyes narrowed. "Forcibly rebuilding the body..."

Loraine’s calm expression stiffened slightly. "That sounds extremely dangerous."

Kaelvar looked at her. "It is."

Feron swallowed. "Okay, but how does it start?"

Kaelvar stared at him.

Rovak’s grin slowly widened.

Feron immediately had a bad feeling. "Why are you both looking like that?"

Kaelvar answered calmly, "The first thing you need to do is die."

No one spoke.

For several seconds, the training area was completely silent.

Iris’s eyes widened. "Die?"

Varka’s grin froze for once. "Seriously?"

Kaelvar nodded. "Seriously."

Rovak laughed. "Hahaha! Yeah. You need to die first."

Feron’s face turned pale. "What kind of damn training starts with death?"

Rovak and Kaelvar answered at the same time.

"Garion’s."

Feron stared at them like they were insane.

Kaelvar continued, "That’s why Garion said the will to die is needed. It’s not a metaphor. You will literally need to die before the rebuilding begins."

Everyone’s expressions became heavy.

Even Varka, who usually grinned at anything dangerous, looked a little more serious than before.

Death was not a small thing.

No matter how powerful a cultivator became, no sane person casually accepted the idea of dying just to begin training.

A moment later, Rovak suddenly grinned at Kaelvar. "Anyway, since you’re back, how about testing your new power?"

Kaelvar glanced at him, and his eyes immediately lit up. "Sure."

He slowly clenched his fist again, and the red flame around his fingers burned brighter. "I’ve also wanted to know how strong I am now. After all, I had to die for this."

Rovak grinned and licked his lips, his battle-loving nature showing immediately. "Then you’ll know soon enough."

His grin widened even more. "And trust me, you’re going to be surprised by how great you are now."

---

Rovak and Kaelvar flew into the air almost at the same time.

BOOOOM!

The ground beneath them cracked from the force of their launch as both figures shot upward, breaking through the violent wind around God Gym’s temporary base and entering the crazy storm-filled sky above.

Rovak hovered in the storm with a massive grin on his face. "Hahaha! This is a good place to fight."

Kaelvar floated opposite him, his crimson hair whipping wildly in the wind. "Better than breaking the training area."

Rovak cracked his neck and rolled his shoulders. "So, do I need to unleash everything?"

Kaelvar’s red eyes burned brighter. "Of course. We’re both Star Realm now. Holding back too much would just be boring."

Rovak’s grin widened. "Good answer."

His massive body suddenly trembled as blood-red energy erupted from him.

BOOOOM!

Rovak opened his mouth and roared.

"DRAHM KHAR! GOR VRAK! ROVRAKAR!"

The storm around him twisted violently.

His body expanded with terrifying power, his muscles became even denser, dark-red markings crawled across his skin, and the aura of the Drakhor Race exploded outward like a battlefield soaked in blood.

Rovak’s Unsealed State had appeared.

Kaelvar did not waste time either.

His red eyes sharpened, and his dragon blood began burning violently inside his body.

"Burn, Varkairos! Let my blood become flame, and let my flame become dragon!"

FWOOM!

Crimson-gold flames erupted around his body.

Kaelvar’s form changed rapidly. Dragon horns grew from his head, red scales appeared across parts of his arms, neck, and cheeks, and his eyes became fierce vertical dragon pupils.

His body became taller and more powerful, not fully dragon, not fully human, but something between both.

In his hand, his own flame began to condense into a terrifyingly beautiful spear.

The spear looked like it had been forged from dragon fire itself. Crimson-gold flames wrapped around its long shaft, sharp dragon-scale patterns covered its surface, and curved horn-like ornaments guarded the blade. At the spearhead, burning dragon markings pulsed like living veins.

This was Kaelvar’s Divine Relic.

[Varkairos].

Rovak’s eyes lit up. "Oh? So yours is more like half transformation, half weapon style."

Kaelvar grinned. "Of course. There were a lot of choices, but my spear ability was too good to ignore. This kind of Unsealed State suits me best."

Rovak laughed loudly. "Good! Then let’s fight!"

The next instant, Rovak suddenly opened his mouth.

A terrifying blood roar exploded outward.

ROOOOOOAAAR!

Kaelvar’s expression instantly twisted.

His blood surged, his anger spiked, and his killing intent rose against his will.

He frowned hard. "So this is that stupid roar ability, huh?"

Flames burst around [Varkairos] as Kaelvar shot forward like a flaming dragon spear. "Goddamn it, you really know how to make people mad."

Rovak laughed wildly and charged forward. "Hahaha! Let’s go!"
