Chapter 144: Suzu’s Curiosity
After confirming her identity, Kazuma looked at Suzu’s calm face and carefully observed this seemingly unusual girl. Then he suddenly flashed a wide grin.
"Classmate Suzu, can you let me see your chest? I want to take a look."
Kazuma’s words were shocking, and his expression looked completely serious.
The sudden statement stunned Luna so much that she almost dropped her disguise. Her charming cat face froze in a very human-like blank expression, as if she were saying:
Master, what are you even talking about?!
The black cat was utterly shocked.
As for the emotionless girl involved, hearing the strange boy’s outrageous statement, her face showed little reaction. It was unclear whether she truly didn’t care or whether her cold personality simply kept her calm.
The expressionless Suzu blinked and silently stared at Kazuma, her face showing a thoughtful look.
She hesitated. She actually hesitated?!
No way, this strange girl wouldn’t really agree, would she? Although I’m just a cat, I’m not the ignorant cat I used to be. Master’s behavior is clearly sexual harassment, Luna furiously complained inwardly.
"I might not be able to do that..."
After a brief hesitation, Suzu finally shook her head, refusing.
"So you do know it’s impossible, right? Asking a cat to talk is like asking you to show your chest—it’s simply impossible," Kazuma said with a serious expression, sounding as though he were genuinely lecturing her instead of making excuses.
But why did Master look so disappointed?
The little cat tilted her head in confusion.
"I understand," Suzu nodded as if she had accepted his reasoning. "Then I won’t ask again, even though I really wanted to hear the little cat speak, just like how you really wanted to see my chest."
"..."
Kazuma nearly lost his composure from embarrassment. Wasn’t this girl supposed to be an ordinary student? She really can read minds, can’t she? You’re making me lose face here, classmate.
Still, his embarrassment only lasted a few seconds before he recovered.
As long as I’m shameless, nobody can embarrass me.
"I didn’t want to touch them anyway. Yours are too small."
In truth, they weren’t small at all—they were around a D-cup. But in this world full of exaggerated proportions, they weren’t especially eye-catching.
"They’re nowhere near Miyajima-senpai’s level. I’m not very interested."
"You’re lying."
The emotionless girl seemed to see right through him.
"No."
"Yes."
"Seriously, no."
Seeing Kazuma stubbornly deny it, Suzu blinked slowly. "My intuition is very accurate."
"Intuition is the most unreliable thing there is."
That was what he said aloud, but inwardly he was thinking, That accurate? Seriously? If what she says is true...
Kazuma stared at her face for a long moment, yet still couldn’t figure out what she was thinking.
This girl isn’t simple.
I definitely need to find some kind of mind-reading item!
"Can I hold her?" Forgetting the earlier topic, Suzu looked at Luna and asked softly. She clearly wanted to pet the cute cat.
"No problem."
Kazuma winked at Luna, and the little black cat was promptly picked up by the scruff of her neck by Suzu, looking completely resigned. So even after evolving and becoming stronger, she still couldn’t escape the fate of being toyed with by human girls?
She looked at her Master with pitiful, resentful eyes.
Kazuma returned a comforting look, as if saying, Don’t worry, I’ll make it up to you later.
Only after receiving her Master’s reassurance did the little cat calm down and allow the human girl to pet her all over.
"Kazuma," Miyajima Sakura called as she walked out of the Kendo Club, ready to leave together with him. "Hm? What are you doing here?"
After becoming much closer to him inside the clubroom, Miyajima-senpai’s already beautiful face seemed even more enchanting, rosy and radiant. Her elegant charm had only grown stronger, especially because of her impressive figure.
Her chest swayed noticeably, far larger than Suzu’s.
Truly astonishing.
"Classmate Suzu, I have to go," Kazuma said with a wave. "Luna, come here."
"Meow——"
The cat immediately broke free from the girl’s arms and quickly jumped into Kazuma’s embrace. Catching the mischievous little cat, he smiled.
"If you like cats, Classmate Suzu, you can come play with Luna anytime."
"Meow!"
The cat twisted around in Kazuma’s arms, seemingly a little annoyed.
"Okay."
Suzu looked at Miyajima-senpai, then at Kazuma, and nodded quietly.
She remained standing there, watching the two leave together until their figures completely disappeared from sight. Only then did the blue-haired girl reveal a subtle change in expression.
"Not just the cat... he doesn’t seem ordinary either."
After Kazuma left, Suzu’s usually emotionless face showed the faintest trace of curiosity. Clearly, the emotionless beauty wasn’t truly devoid of feelings after all. The mysterious Kazuma and the mysterious talking cat had successfully sparked her curiosity.
"Could it be related to the Old School Building?"
The mysterious and frightening Old School Building had countless strange rumors surrounding it. As a member of the student council, Suzu had heard those stories many times before. At first, she never believed them.
But after meeting Kazuma and seeing that cat...
She began to feel that the rumors might not be completely false.
"Should I go inside and take a look...?"
"Suzu! What are you doing here? I’ve been looking for you everywhere!"
Just as she was about to enter the mysterious Old School Building, she heard her sister’s voice calling out to her. A beautiful girl with the exact same face as Suzu—but with a completely different personality and temperament—ran over.
Judging by their identical appearance, she had to be Suzu’s twin sister.
"Sister."
The girl called "Sister" placed her hands on her hips.
"You weren’t seriously thinking about going in there, were you?"
Kaede wasn’t afraid of ghosts or monsters. Just like Suzu, she didn’t believe the rumors surrounding the building. However, the school strictly prohibited students from entering, and even the police had set up barriers around it. As student council members, they naturally couldn’t trespass recklessly.
"Sister," Suzu suddenly spoke while Kaede pulled her away, "do you think there are cats in this world that can speak human language?"
"Huh? What are you talking about?"
"A cat that can speak human language."
Kaede looked confused and reached out to touch her sister’s forehead.
"You don’t have a fever, so why are you suddenly saying weird things? Did you fall asleep and wander into Wonderland or something, Suzu?"
"A talking cat? That sounds like something straight out of a fairy tale," Kaede laughed. "Since when did you become so childish? Or did those Old School Building rumors finally get to you?"
"Those rumors aren’t fake."
Hearing her sister’s confident dismissal, Suzu calmly responded with her usual expressionless face.
"I’ve seen one. A cat that can talk."
If Kaede had witnessed what happened earlier, she definitely would have been shocked.
"Uh..."
Thinking about it carefully, Suzu wasn’t someone who spoke carelessly. Could she really have encountered something supernatural?
Just imagining a cat speaking human language was creepy enough already.
"Where?"
"Right here."
"This Old School Building really is creepy..."
Kaede shivered slightly and shrank her neck.
"We seriously need to demolish this place."
"What?"
"At the recent Student Council meeting, a proposal was made to demolish the area around the Old School Building. Soon, all those strange and bizarre legends will disappear along with it," Kaede proudly raised her head. "It was my suggestion, and the Student Council has already approved it. So, what do you think? Aren’t I amazing?"
"Something like that can’t be decided by the Student Council alone."
"That’s true. In the end, it still needs the chairman’s approval. But the chairman will definitely agree. After all, the existence of the Old School Building has already affected the school’s reputation. Thanks to this achievement, I might even be able to compete for the position of Student Council President!!"
Looking at her sister’s proud and overly confident expression, a strange look appeared on Suzu’s usually emotionless face. Demolish the Old School Building? She had a feeling that this proud and confident sister of hers was heading toward a very bad ending.
"Miss Rurikawa, hello."
When Shijou Anri boarded the car with her schoolbag, she greeted Rurikawa Tsubaki, who was also dressed in a maid uniform.
"You can just call me by my name. From now on, we’ll be companions," the maid said calmly, a faint smile appearing on her beautiful face. They were currently on their way to Morita Hospital, picking up Shijou Anri according to Kazuma’s request.
"I understand, Tsubaki," Shijou Anri replied shyly. "Um, didn’t Kazuma-kun come with you?"
Besides Rurikawa Tsubaki, there was only a female driver in the car—Doctor Amamiya.
"He has other matters to deal with, so he won’t be coming to the hospital often," Rurikawa Tsubaki said while pursing her lips, her tone carrying a trace of regret. As a maid, she should have stayed by her master’s side at all times. However, she also understood that someone had to keep watch over the hospital.
"Anri really wanted to see him."
"Well, it’s not exactly like that..."
The car fell silent. The silver-haired girl quietly observed the beautiful maid. Perhaps because they were both maids and their circumstances were somewhat similar, Anri naturally felt a strong sense of closeness toward her. Remembering how Boeyman had become furious and agitated because of Rurikawa Tsubaki...
Shijou Anri couldn’t help but sigh in amazement.
"I’ve heard about the Rurikawa family’s situation, Tsubaki. You’re truly incredible," she said softly, breaking the silence. "If it were me, I definitely wouldn’t have been able to endure such a blow."
"I’m not as strong as you think. Before meeting Master, I was only dragging myself through each day," Rurikawa Tsubaki shook her head. "It was Master who truly gave me a new life."
Shijou Anri looked puzzled. "I don’t know Kazuma-kun very well yet, but I know he’s very powerful. He didn’t even take Boeyman seriously... Tsubaki, your relationship with him isn’t just that of master and servant, is it?"
It was obvious. At that evening banquet, the affectionate look in Rurikawa Tsubaki’s eyes whenever she looked at Kazuma clearly went beyond the feelings of a normal maid. Otherwise, Boeyman wouldn’t have lost his mind over it.
Rurikawa did not deny it. Blushing slightly, she gently nodded.
"Meeting Master was the greatest happiness of my life... and it will probably become your greatest fortune as well," she murmured softly.
"So shouldn’t the credit for all this go to me?" Doctor Amamiya turned around with a smile. "That day, out of curiosity, I started researching him. That’s what caused you, young lady, to pay attention to him in the first place. It became the beginning of everything."
"Yes, thanks to Amamiya-nee..."
The relaxed and cheerful atmosphere inside the car helped Shijou Anri calm down considerably. Looking at Morita Hospital gradually appearing before her eyes, the silver-haired girl fell into deep thought.
A new life... perhaps that wasn’t such a bad thing after all.
