Chapter 853: Chapter 853. The Hunt Begins
Heavenly Tyrant Academy.
Northern Residential District.
Veil Faction.
"Is this Kailen Darkhaven even human?"
Someone said.
"We need to eliminate him before he becomes too much of a threat."
"Why don’t we stay out of his business like some of the factions are?"
"I don’t think that’s a good idea. If we stay out of his business, he will be like a sword of Damocles hanging over our heads. We need to get rid of him. We can’t entertain the possibility that he won’t come for us in the future. He’s currently ranked 2999 on the Heavenly Tyrant Rankings. If we merge with Mystic Moon Faction, dealing with him will be easier. If we try to deal with him alone, I hate to admit but it won’t be too easy," a fellow presiding over the meeting said. He had scales running across his figure. He was wearing a long battle robe. He was ranked 2700 on the Heavenly Tyrant Rankings. His name was Veil, the leader of the Veil Faction.
Several whispers and nods of approval spread across the room.
Suddenly, someone barged into the room with a terrified expression on her face.
"Boss," she said. "He’s here..."
"Who?" Veil asked.
"I just spotted him through the security footage." A holographic screen appeared before her.
Veil and every other higher-up in his faction were shocked.
"Shit... now we have to deal with him on our own. This will be trouble..."
Before they could even finish talking, they saw through the security footage that a very large spatial sword had formed in front of Kailen Darkhaven.
Outside the Veil Faction building, several people were covertly paying attention to what was happening.
"Is that not Kailen Darkhaven and Julian Sier?"
"I heard the Veil Faction wanted to get rid of him."
"It seems Kailen Darkhaven is taking the offensive to them."
"But I didn’t know who was acquainted with Julian Sier."
"Look, he’s about to attack."
Under the terrified gazes of several individuals, a very large ethereal spatial sword had formed from the void.
The large spatial sword blotted out the skies.
It was overwhelming. Several felt their scalps tingle just by looking at it.
Then, Kailen simply waved his hand.
The spatial sword shot towards the building of the Veil Faction.
The moment the spatial sword appeared before the building, the building simply morphed, as if it was a stream of water.
It cut through the building, causing several splinters to spread everywhere.
The members of the Veil Faction were revealed, standing in what used to be a hall in the now destroyed building.
"Why can’t we move?" they thought.
They tried to use principle attacks, but none worked.
It was as if a layer of space had locked them in place, preventing them from moving.
They could only helplessly watch with terror as the colossal spatial sword appeared in their lines of vision and cleaved through all of them.
Their dying screams echoed as they were completely obliterated from existence. The spatial sword flickered in and out of existence and disappeared into the void.
Kailen Darkhaven did not even spend another second there after he killed everyone in the Veil Faction.
It was as if everything he had just done was nothing worthwhile.

Heavenly Tyrant Academy.
Northern Residential District.
Mystic Moon Faction.
Several individuals had just received a video circulating on academy forums right now.
"He destroyed the Veil Faction with just one strike? Veil was stronger than Redeemed and Isis. Not just that, the members of his faction were ranked higher on the Heavenly Tyrant Rankings than the members of Redeemed and Isis. Just how unfathomable is this guy’s strength?"
"There’s also a big problem."
"What?"
"He’s with Julian Sier."
"Julian Sier?"
"Yeah. He’s also a monster. Another new student. I didn’t know these two lunatics were acquainted with one another."
"Julian Sier... Julian Sier. Is he not the guy five of us had an altercation with on an academy mission and almost killed him?"
"Yes... that guy. He escaped. I thought he died."
"Shit... Even if we could have begged our way out of this, there’s no way that will be possible now. Sier has a personal vendetta with us."
"Boss, what do we do?"
Everyone stared at Mystic Moon, their leader.
She was quiet in thought.
No one spoke a word.
"What if we decide to serve him, and I decide to become his woman?" Mystic Moon thought. "That could work. Ever since I started cultivation, from the time I was in the edge region till now, which man has been able to resist my charm?"
She looked at her members.
"I have a solution."
Mystic Moon stepped out of the faction base.
Out of curiosity, her members followed her.
"I should head to his villa in the southern residential district to wait for him. No man can resist the allure of a beautiful woman," she thought.
She was just about to tell the members of her faction to stay behind, when two people suddenly appeared above their faction.
One had white hair and an ancient, yet boyish charm around him.
The other had abyss-like hair and eyes. He was like a calm catastrophe waiting to be unleashed. Strangely calm and serene, but terrifying at the same time.
Julian Sier and Kailen Darkhaven.
"Let me handle them. Some fuckers from their faction tried to kill me on an academy mission. Also, these guys are not too powerful. You’ll handle the powerful ones and I’ll handle the small fries," Julian said.
Kailen nodded.
Julian stepped forward.
"Esteemed Guests... what can we do for you?" Mystic Moon was quivering, but she kept a calm facade. "Would you like some of us female members to entertain you for a while before we proceed to have a conversation on why you are here? Even if you want, I can personally host you?"
Julian was calm. He did not respond.
Streams of darkness streamed out of his figure. They transformed into a very Tenebrous staff.
The large Tenebrous staff started to spin. The spinning staff shot towards Mystic Moon.
Mystic sighed. "Shit... these guys are not ordinary. To think they’d be able to resist me. Time to run away. My faction members can die for all I care."
The spinning staff swept down, appearing before her in an instant.
"Too fast." That was the last thought she had before the Tenebrous staff with shifting trails of darkness swatted her to the ground, into nothing.
Terror appeared on the faces of her faction members.
The staff cleaved across them next before they could do anything.
Their dying screams echoed as they turned into husky corpses.
The staff turned into trails of darkness and disappeared.
"Where next?" he smiled, as he asked Kailen.
