Chapter 844: Chapter 844. Gyro Zone

Kailen arrived at the port city.

He moved towards a harbor where several airships could be seen parked at some docks.

Chatter was everywhere.

"Rank 1 intermediate stage Transcendent needed for ore exploration!"

"Rank 2 intermediate stage Transcendents needed for ore exploration..."

"One more team member needed..."

"Three more ore exploration members needed."

Kailen moved towards the airship where someone was announcing that one more team member was needed.

He didn’t want to waste any time.

"Do I qualify?" Kailen said.

"Rank?" The lady, a dwarf, asked.

"Rank 1 intermediate stage Transcendent," Kailen replied.

A glint flashed through the lady’s eyes.

She was in thought for a few moments.

"How would you like the payment to be done? Would you want us to pay you for assisting us or you intend to interact directly with the military for your cut?" she asked.

"I would like to interact directly with the military," Kailen replied.

"Oh... then you must know that your contribution should be equal to or exceed that of every other person in the crew. That’s how things naturally work," she said.

"Noted."

Kailen got in the airship.

Everyone in the airship was silent, minding their own business. It was obvious that they did not know each other.

They were all strangers that had decided to work together because they shared similar interests, at least with regards to securing gold coins from the ore exploration.

As for Kailen, he had more than enough gold coins to spare. His sole reason for saying he wanted to interact with the military directly was not because of the high amount of gold coins he would get for trading ore directly with the military outpost; it was to come into contact with his target military outpost for the mission and try to find the spy.

The airship flew into the skies and sped across the skies.

"Chaotic beasts not only roam the Zolmar Seas, they also roam the skies we are travelling atop the seas. Let’s be alert for any signs of attacks else we will all be dead before we know it," the dwarf lady spoke.

"I suppose you are the group leader now?" A male gnome seated somewhere in a corner in the airship shook his head.

"Does it matter?" The dwarf lady shrugged. "I’m just stating the obvious. Anyway, if you care so much about being the leader of this team, that’s not my problem. Just because this is my airship does not mean I care about such nonsense."

A human lady seated next to Kailen shrugged.

"Trusting the leadership of one person when we don’t even know each other is a bad idea. And besides, from the looks of things, I don’t think anyone has the desire to get to know someone else," she said. "We should cooperate as equals. What if the person we choose to lead this exploration makes a stupid call and we all die?"

Everyone nodded at her words.

"That sounds more plausible."

"I agree with her."

"Sure."

Everyone agreed to her words.

"I suggest we head towards the Gyro zone. A lot of ores seem to have been discovered there," the human lady said.

"The Gyro zone is closer to a military outpost, outpost c376," the gnome guy said. "We have a high chance of selling the ores to them and making money easier. Not a bad idea."

The dwarf lady said, "The Gyro zone is really dangerous at the moment. Other explorers are crowded there now because of the competition for the ores. Also, one has to kill those Iron Spitting Sea Beasts and take the ores there out of their bellies. Those creatures are not easy to handle. Are we sure we can handle them?"

Everyone was in thought for a while.

They all agreed, except the quiet fellow with dark hair, void-like hair and eyes who seemed to be minding his own business.

"Friend, do you agree we should go to the Gyro Zone?" the human lady seated next to Kailen said.

Kailen nodded politely. "Yeah."

Everyone nodded.

"To the Gyro Zone it is." The dwarf lady shifted the coordinates to the Gyro zone.

As the airship shifted location and headed towards the direction of the Gyro Zone, the group heard a loud screech above them.

"Shit... it’s a lightning principle wyvern, a powerful rank 2 intermediate stage chaotic beast... what do we do?" the gnome fellow said.

The others revealed terrified expressions.

The wyvern was yet to identify them but it was only a matter of time before that happened. It was circling in the clouds and flapping its wings. Its thick scales were robust and shiny. Lightning streaked across its figure.

They were all rank 1 intermediate stage Transcendents. How were they supposed to handle a creature like that?

"How about we retreat?" the human lady said.

"Yeah. It seems we can’t go to the Gyro Zone," the dwarf lady said.

Kailen squinted his eyes lightly.

The Gyro zone was close to outpost c376.

It was his best chance at entering the outpost.

It seemed he had to do something.

"No need to retreat."

The moment Kailen spoke, the void melded and twisted around them as a layer of ethereal spatial ripples congregated across the airship.

The airship blinked away from the skies and reappeared several distances, far away from where the wyvern was previously circling the skies.

Everyone heaved sighs of relief and looked at the dark-haired human guy with glints of realization flashing through their eyes.

This dude, it seemed they had underestimated him. He was definitely not an ordinary rank 1 intermediate stage Transcendent.

Also, he had saved their lives.

Everyone nodded towards him politely to thank him.

They were not fools. They knew that if they encountered a similar situation again, perhaps his space principle could help them escape.

Everyone understood that he was now the safety net of their expedition in case of emergencies.

As for Kailen, he needed the group. A military outpost will only interact with a group of explorers, not just a single person. In order to have access to c376, he needed them alive. If he approached c376 alone, he would be suspected as someone suspicious and get killed.

The group eventually arrived at the Gyro Zone.
