Chapter 1976: Part 3: The Return Trip
Deep Sea
The ship started its voyage a day later. Unlike passenger ships, this ship carries cargo, so not many people are here apart from the workers.
I was able to get my own small cabin. No one bothered me. Because of that, I paid full attention to my meditation. From time to time, I would come outside to check on things.
Forenoon
While the ship was moving through the sea, I came to the deck to look around. The sea wind brushed past my face. The weather was neither hot nor cold, and the sky was clear.
The surface of the sea was calm. One could see the fish monsters in the water. So far, no large sea monsters had targeted the ship. I knew there was a reason why the Forbidden Wizard was here.
It was his responsibility to fend off the sea monsters. As long as he injured them, they would move away from the area.
I didn’t bring the Zero Puppet outside. I didn’t want to give the slightest clue to anyone.
Nighttime
The sea fish monsters tried to attack the ship. The Magic Lords and the workers fended them off by using magic spells, but none of them asked me to help.
I knew I couldn’t stay cooped up inside my room forever. It would definitely raise their eyebrows. At the very least, I should help them by driving away the monsters.
So for the rest of the night, I spent my time outside with the manager. He was contributing as well. I didn’t use magic spells right away; instead, I used a spear magic artifact to hurt the monsters. freewebnσvel.cøm
The spear artifact would release a beam upon activation, hurting the sea monsters. The artifact wasn’t that powerful-it was a Grade-10 artifact that suited my level.
Because of that, it didn’t draw attention from others. However, the manager and the workers were glad that I helped them. Even the Magic Lords didn’t say anything.
As for the Forbidden Wizard, he stayed in his room. He would only appear when there was a threat from a 12th Order monster.
The shipping company had hired him, so there was no need for him to act against trivial threats. That’s why the Magic Lords and a few other guards were here.
They would protect the goods. Compared to a passenger ship, I figured a cargo ship had much better protection.
But I knew there were passengers on that other ship who had fought alongside a Forbidden Wizard, so they had their advantages as well.
I couldn’t forget that Forbidden Wizard Gary. He had attacked me during my earlier journey. After reaching Blue Falls City, I would look for him.
When morning arrived, I went back to my room to rest. In the morning, the sea surface was calmer than it was at night.
During the night, the movements of the fish monsters always caused heavy waves.
Half a Month Later
Half a month passed by, and the ship reached its destination. The return trip was safer and faster than the previous one. I sighed inwardly. I truly enjoyed the sea journey.
The Magic Lords and the Forbidden Wizard hadn’t caused any problems for me, mostly because I behaved like a normal Supreme Wizard. I also helped them during the nighttime attacks.
When the ship docked, I went to see the manager again.
"Ah, young master. Thanks for the help again. Your contribution played a huge role in our safe return," the manager said.
"I was given a chance to head back, so I did my best to help," I replied. After saying that, I asked him whether I needed to pay for the ticket.
Hearing that, the manager was stunned. His eyes flashed with respect. He had thought I would just leave without a word since I had already done enough.
"Wait here!"
"I will ask the Forbidden Wizard." freewebnøvel.com
After saying that, he left the room. He really couldn’t make decisions when it came to this matter, so he went to see the Forbidden Wizard.
This time, the Forbidden Wizard was standing on the top deck instead of staying in his room. He spotted the manager approaching.
"Come here!" he called out.
The manager was surprised, then he raised his head, saw the old man, and walked up to the top deck.
"Lord, Frank is about to leave. He asked whether he needed to pay the fee," the manager explained.
The old man’s eyes flickered. He had been observing the young man. He could tell that the youth was not from an ordinary faction, because he was far too young for his level of strength.
Such a prodigy could only be found within the hegemonic forces. He had already warned the others during the journey not to trouble the young man.
Sighing, the old man said, "There is no need for him to pay. If the company asks, let them deduct it from my salary."
"Okay," the manager agreed before heading back down.
A few minutes later, I heard the news from the manager. I was genuinely happy that no one had made things difficult for me. Then, I left the docking area and came ashore.
Next, I had to find the Forbidden Wizard of the Montex Shipping Company. I didn’t know whether he was nearby or out at sea.
Thinking of the Patrick Family, I decided to go pay them a visit.
It didn’t take long for me to find a cab. I got inside and told the driver to take me to the Patrick Family estate.
Ten minutes later, the cab landed in front of the family gates. I paid the fare to the driver. The guards looked surprised; they found my face familiar, but they didn’t recognize me immediately.
I showed them my badge, and their expressions changed drastically.
"I want to see Sam," I said to them.
The guards nodded quickly, and one of them hurried inside to inform him.
Shortly afterward, a loud voice echoed from within.
"Brother Frank, is it really you?"
The person running out was none other than Sam Patrick. When he saw my face, his expression turned into one of pure disbelief and shock.
He had heard rumors that Frank was killed by the sea monsters. Yet here he was, standing right in front of him.
