Chapter 26: Killing the two golden griffins 2
The griffins were still confused, unsure of why they suddenly felt afraid, but it was already too late. By the time they began to realize what was happening, Levon had already brought his venomous sword down across their necks.
It took just two fast slices to get the job done.
The griffins began thrashing their wings rapidly and erratically as the poison started taking full effect.
Levon was sent flying across the room again, but it didn’t matter. All that remained on his face was a wide smile. He already knew the job was done.
[Goblin Armor has been destroyed. -100 HP.]
The hit had completely destroyed the already weakened goblin armor, but Levon genuinely hadn’t expected a low grade weapon to survive even two attacks from level 14 griffins.
Levon stayed at the far end of the room and watched as the griffins kept thrashing wildly, as though they had lost their minds entirely.
The wind generated by their wings began knocking things off the shelves. Jewels and loose items went flying in every direction, but Levon stayed put and didn’t move an inch.
Soon the thrashing slowed, and the two griffins finally succumbed to their fate.
[Congratulations, you have killed two level 4 griffins. +250 exp. All rewards have been successfully added to your storage space.]
[You have gained 3 poison hibiscus.]
But Levon had no time to check the storage space. He had just under four minutes to complete the task and get out of the dungeon.
He immediately leaped toward the artifact hanging around the neck of the bleeding statue.
The moment he got close, he noticed something was wrong. The bleeding statue wasn’t just a carving or a painting. It was actually bleeding from every opening on its face, and real blood had begun pooling onto the floor.
Sensing the danger, Levon immediately snatched the artifact from the statue’s neck and bolted straight out of the treasure room.
Just as he expected, the entire room began to collapse the instant he moved. Without wasting a second, Levon leaped back onto the walkway he had entered through.
Rocks kept crashing down around him, and after a while the dust settled and the debris had fully sealed the entrance to the dungeon behind him.
[Task one: Gain the artifact of the Blood God. Completed.
Task two: Kill the Vampire King. Incomplete.
Time remaining: 3:40.]
Almost immediately, the first thing on Levon’s mind was Aria.
He steadied himself and stood up, holding the artifact in one hand and his sword in the other.
Levon calmed himself slightly and began sprinting through the hallway back toward the area of the vampire bats.
But to his surprise, not a single bat came at him. Every one of them parted and gave him space, as though they were afraid of the artifact in his hand.
Levon still didn’t slow down. He ran straight toward the opening, and the moment he reached it he took the opposite road. All of a sudden the staff in his hands began to glow.
And immediately he felt it. That feeling.
Levon was stunned. The sensation was overwhelming as it washed over him.
[Congratulations on wielding the great Staff of the Blood God.]
*********
"Hahahaha! What makes you think you can defeat me in any fashion? Don’t you know I am the Vampire King? No mortal dares step foot in my domain and make it out alive. I have ruled my legion of vampires for decades, and you think a low level human like you can just barge in here and kill me?"
The voice rang in Aria’s ears.
She was currently locked in fierce combat with two mutated bear vampires, but no matter what she did, they simply wouldn’t die.
The lust in their eyes kept growing stronger, as though the harder she fought the more desperately they wanted her blood.
Slowly, Aria was losing her strength. Endless sweat dripped down her forehead.
There was no sugarcoating it. She was losing.
But then, all of a sudden, the message came through.
[Task one: Gain the artifact of the Blood God. Completed.
Task two: Kill the Vampire King. Incomplete.
Time remaining: 3:40.]
Immediately, a spark ignited in Aria. Levon had done it.
He had completed the first mission.
She had no excuse now. If he could complete his, then she had to complete hers too. If she couldn’t, then all she would be to Levon was a liability, and she cared far too much about herself to allow that.
Fueled by her newfound motivation, Aria summoned everything she had and charged straight at the two monsters in front of her.
Her movements became a flurry of dodges and strikes, weaving through their attacks in rapid succession.
Something new had appeared in her eyes.
The pure will to fight. And for a moment it looked like she had unlocked an entirely new version of herself. Just like the beasts in front of her, a deep lust had fully taken over her gaze.
"She has the ability to lust for blood too. That’s impossible. How can that be? What desire is she drawing on to drive that? It just isn’t possible," the voice erupted in pure disbelief.
Aria immediately swerved to the right, dodging a full blown attack, and all of a sudden her sword finally made contact with the head of one of the mutated bear vampires.
She didn’t even flinch. The lust was still burning in her eyes as she swiped her blade cleanly across its neck.
Its head came tumbling down.

Aria immediately turned to the second vampire, but before she could do anything it latched directly onto her blade.
She desperately tried to wrench it free, doing everything in her power and kicking as hard as she could, but the monster refused to let go.
Her hair scattered wildly across her face as she shook and pulled with everything she had, but it was no use.
Then it happened. The blade snapped free from her fingers, sending her stumbling backward.
[Time remaining to complete the dungeon mission: 2:39.]
