Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Fucking Newbies.

"Grhhhhh...! Agrhhhh!!"

Roman’s eyes snapped open.

Clutching his head tightly, he stared into the empty air as an indescribable pain seized his entire being. It wasn’t merely a headache. It felt as though his very soul were being torn apart, as if an invisible force were trying to wrench it from his body.

"W-What... is this?"

His senses fell into disarray as he questioned his very existence. While he struggled against the overwhelming pain, a voice suddenly echoed deep within his mind.

"Gree Ka Go... @#@$##*... @##@$#..."

Only his own name reached him clearly. Everything that followed dissolved into incomprehensible noise, as though his mind simply lacked the capacity to perceive the language itself.

Before he could even begin to process what he had heard, another voice reverberated throughout his consciousness.

[@#$##*... @#@$#&... @#######@#]

Blood trickled from Roman’s nostrils as the pressure inside his head intensified until it felt as though his skull would split apart. Groaning through gritted teeth, he staggered to his feet in an attempt to steady himself, but before he could take another step, another violent cough tore through him.

"Cough!"

Fresh blood splattered across the floor as his vision blurred and his knees nearly buckled beneath him.

Watching everything unfold in real time, Volcano immediately abandoned his attempt at communication.

God’s Whisper was deactivated without a moment’s hesitation.

The crushing pressure that had gripped Roman’s mind gradually receded, allowing him to draw several ragged breaths before the agony slowly subsided.

Volcano quietly watched the exhausted Magnari before letting out a guilty sigh.

"It seems his soul is still too weak to withstand my voice..."

Relief washed over him, only to be followed by disappointment.

"No matter."

"I’ll preserve his soul when he dies. Perhaps I can reincarnate him during a later generation."

His fingers drifted across the holographic interface until they paused over one of the newly unlocked Divine Functions. Without the slightest hesitation, he tapped it. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

[Are you certain you wish to track this lifeform?]

[Current Divinity Level permits tracking of only one lifeform.]

[Confirm tracking target: Gree Ka Go?]

Volcano immediately selected Confirm.

[Ding! Lifeform "Gree Ka Go" has been successfully designated as your tracked target.]

[From this moment until the target’s death, you will receive notifications regarding any major misfortune affecting the target, as well as immediate notification upon their death.]

A satisfied smile appeared on Volcano’s face.

"Now then..."

He stretched lazily within the endless Void before turning his attention back toward Volcan.

"Let’s see just how far you’ve progressed."

"Character Information."

"[Gree Ka Go.]"

"..."

Volcano stared silently at the status window.

For a brief moment, he questioned whether his eyes were deceiving him.

For a first-generation Magnari...These statistics were simply impossible.

"It’s almost as though..."

A laugh escaped him as an absurd thought surfaced in his mind.

"...he’s one of those transmigrated protagonists from the novels and manga I used to read."

The notion was so ridiculous that he dismissed it almost as quickly as it had appeared.

After all, Gre Ka Go was his own creation.

Perhaps he was simply a once-in-a-millennium genius—a Magnari whose talent had exceeded every expectation. Nothing more.

The possibility of another player somehow descending into his world during the infancy of Godcraft Genesis was so absurd that Volcano didn’t even bother entertaining it.

Shaking his head, he casually closed the status window before opening the Universal Chat.

Just as expected...

It was already overflowing with countless messages.

"Fucking newbies..."

Roman silently rubbed his temples, open irritation flashing across his face.

To any Godcraft Genesis player, this was basic knowledge.

God’s Whisper could never be used on a first-, second-, or even tenth-generation intelligent species. Their souls simply hadn’t matured enough to withstand the voice of a god. At best, they would hear meaningless fragments. At worst, their souls could suffer irreversible damage.

’I could’ve died because of his stupidity.’

’I explained so many things to him during our last conversation, yet he still attempted something this reckless...’

Roman slowly closed his eyes and released a weary sigh.

The incident immediately reminded him of another game he had played years before Godcraft Genesis.

Kingdom’s Wrath.

A VRMMO he had long since abandoned.

His guild had once stood on the verge of victory, only for a newly recruited player to ignore every instruction, rush headfirst into enemy territory, and throw away months of careful preparation in a matter of minutes.

Even now, the frustration of that defeat lingered somewhere in the back of his mind.

Ever since then, Roman had developed an intense dislike for players who entered games without first understanding how they worked—players who skipped tutorials, refused to learn the mechanics, and relied entirely upon trial and error because...

"It’s just a game."

Roman clicked his tongue.

"...Annoying."

"I can’t rely on this fool. If he attempts God’s Whisper again—or something even more reckless—I need to be prepared."

"My work here isn’t finished."

"At the current pace...I’ll need at least another decade."

Without wasting another moment, Roman opened his character interface.

[Name: Gree Ka Go] (Pseudonym Active)

[Age: 24 Years]

[Believers: 0]

[Admirers: 614] (New)

[Lifespan: 100 Years]

[Karma Points: 4070]

Four thousand and seventy Karma Points...

Nearly twenty-four years of accumulation.

Roman quietly stared at the number displayed before him, countless possibilities passing through his mind. He had no intention of wasting them simply to clean up someone else’s mistakes.

...But if it comes down to it, I may have to spend them to lessen the burden of God’s Whisper.

His fingers lightly tapped against the translucent interface before gradually coming to a halt.

This also serves as a reminder. No matter how much influence I gain within this world... Volcano is still its God. The gap between us remains absolute. If he truly wished to erase me... he could probably do so with a single thought.

Twenty-four years of effort had transformed the Magnari from primitive creatures into a tribe capable of language, governance, craftsmanship, and now the foundations of law. Yet all of it ultimately existed beneath the authority of a single inexperienced god.

That fact alone was enough to temper his confidence.

I need to tread more carefully.

Closing the interface, Roman released another quiet sigh. The greatest threat to everything he had built wasn’t another tribe, a powerful beast, famine, or disease.

It was an inexperienced god.

He lay back down and closed his eyes, hoping exhaustion would eventually overtake him. Unfortunately, sleep never came. After several minutes of fruitless effort, he finally gave up, rose from his bedding, and stepped outside.

A stretched animal hide rested near the entrance of his dwelling. Taking a seat upon it, Roman quietly lifted his gaze toward the heavens.

The night was peaceful.

Countless stars blanketed the endless sky, while the twin moons bathed the village in a gentle silver glow. A cool breeze drifted through the settlement, carrying with it the scent of earth, stone, and dying campfires.

For the first time since arriving upon Volcan, Roman allowed himself to simply admire the scenery. No calculations occupied his mind. No schemes demanded his attention. No plans needed refining.

For a brief moment...

He simply enjoyed the silence.
