Chapter 7: Chapter 07: At the Heaven’s Hall (2)

The heavens bore witness to a battle unlike any before as they shook and rumbled in the tumble of Heaven’s greatest beings.

Mikael stood alone battered, his gaze showed his exhaustion in, and yet his presence still persisted, an abyss swallowing all light.

His eyes scanned his surroundings with quick precision as he looked and thought of ways to hold out a little more before going down. He was greatly outnumbered, that was very obvious and the other Sovereigns seemed to be holding back hence him being able to take them all on at once. If they decided to go all out, it would only take a while before he would be vanquished by Aetherion’s might only.

’Aetherion is the oldest and strongest of the Sovereigns. If he particularly gets serious I’m really in trouble.’

" He’s feeling uneasy." The goddess muttered and sighed beneath her veil. The pain of watching her child being pushed towards his destruction yet she couldn’t intervene, stabbed at her. But there was nothing she could do about it, the rules she had made, won’t allow her.

Surrounding Mikael, the Sovereigns, creation’s champions, divine warriors of cosmic order and power—burned with celestial radiance, their weapons drawn, and still wreathed in raw divine energy.

Reality itself crackled and shattered at places, struggling to contain the overwhelming power of the universe’s strongest beings, concentrated in one place. Alas, they themselves were not unscathed from the fight.

Above them, the Goddess watched. Silent. Unmoving.

She had not spoken a word since the battle began, nor had she lifted a finger.

Mikael chuckled, tilting his head slightly. " The finest warriors of the cosmos, truly deserving of those titles".

His voice was smooth, devoid of fear, almost amused. "I’d be more than happy to take her on. I’m talking about the Goddess. She is my creator after all.."

The Will of Heaven, Aetherion, stepped forward. His massive, golden sword blazed , igniting the air around it.

"You are very aware we do not need her help to put you down, Mikael."

Mikael smirked. " I’m very much aware of that, Aetherion."

Without warning, Aetherion moved. A golden arc of light slashed toward Mikael, the sheer force of it splitting timelines in the distance.

Mikael did not dodge, taking a defensive stance and readied his scythe. Dark energy pulsed.

The moment Aetherion’s attack hit, it collapsed against the dark energy into nothingness, causing a massive shockwave that pushed Mikael back a very large distance away. But Aetherion stood, tall and unmoving.

The Celestial of Eternal Tempest, Zephyr, reacted instantly, summoning a storm of razor-sharp winds that tore apart worlds. " He’s getting worn out! Do not let him get back up!" He hurled his power forward, but Mikael simply slashed at them.

The winds... vanished.

’Seems like everyone finally got serious about this. Guess it’s time to take it up a notch!’

A massive surge of power burst forth from Mikael. He swung his scythe,so fast it seemed to be staying in one place yet it was swinging!

"Come at me! The grand finale!"

The Holy Watcher, Elyndra took up her twin swords, unleashing an avalanche of slashes. They descended upon Mikael with the wrath of the divine! Clearly they had all stepped up their approaches and attacks.

But the slashes vanished before it could even touch him. Consumed by the void aura around him, now fiery and blazing. Mikael truly now pushed himself to his limits

Orion sealed Mikael in an ever-shifting maze. "He cannot escape this, not that easily!" he declared, confident in his power. " I suggest we take it up a notch."

Mikael exhaled, before pushing his output one more time.

" They have got troublesome abilities and hax ." By now, he could actually feel his strength leaving him.

The scythe, powerful as it was, was an uncharted territory. So he did not know much about its upsides and downsides. But they included sapping his energy and essence like crazy!

A pulse of abyssal void energy expanded from him causing the labyrinth to be dissolved instantly

’ My best is draining me out so quickly," Mikael mused. ’ Though it seems I was right. I could never win against you all.’

Seraphiel gritted his teeth. "We are not done."

The Sovereigns moved as one. Aetherion only looked on, pure fury raging in his eyes.

He had not expected a fight at all, let alone the youngling to even last this long.

But if he, Aetherion, acted with his full power, the Celestial Realm might get completely destroyed.

And yet!

Mikael in his continued defiance, slashed thrice at their attacks, the void absorbing them all.

The shockwaves of the attacks swept away billions of galaxies, even pushing Mikael back at great speeds and a tremendous distances. Here, the superiority of those older was visible and clear!

Yet!

The void energy persisted, still swallowing their attacks.

Then came a surprise!

It wasn’t just their attacks that were being erased, but so was their essence. Their very divinity trembled for a moment as Mikael’s abyssal power clawed and gnawed at the essence of their existence, of their being. An attack none of them had expected!

Even then, Mikael could feel himself being drained of everything he got. The use of his full power was slowly destroying him.

Finally, the Goddess moved. A mere flick of her fingers was enough to stop the battle in an instant. The Sovereigns, a few battered and breathless, fell back at once, to the throne. Mikael, for the first time, was grateful for the pause. Aetherion still hovered overhead and readied his sword, ready to move the second Aurora commanded it.

What the others did not know was that the power in their attacks was what had served as fuel for Mikael to counterattack.

The scythe could absorb energy and convert it to its user’s energy. Otherwise he would have fallen a while ago.

But then to keep up with six Powerhouses took away more energy than he could absorb.

He already has reached his limit. And from what Mikael observed, the goddess seemed to know of this weakness of his. The fact that she didn’t reveal it to the other Sovereigns showed that she knew he’d be defeated.

His smirk faded slightly as a little uneasiness swept through him. Even though this was part of his plan, he had no way of knowing just how much the Goddess would react to his taunts. ’Anyways, time to go all out for the final time, then.’

"Oh?" he murmured. "Finally decided to join, Goddess Aurora?!" He shot towards her at incredulous speed, to the temporary surprise of the others in the Hall.

But a single raised hand was all it took to bring Mikael down, slamming him hard into the ground.

Reality groaned as it obeyed her command.

Chains of divine authority coiled around Mikael, strapping him to the ground. His void aura flared and roared.

But it was futile.

The light of creation enveloped him, locking him in an unbreakable seal, his form vanishing into oblivion.

The battlefield was now completely silent.

The Six Celestials, stood still and looked to their Goddess as she delivered her judgement. "Mikael, Sovereign of the Voids, for your act of rebellion, you will be sealed away forever and your powers and title as Sovereign and Celestial of the Abyss, be taken away from you. This is my verdict. This is my judgement. Begone."

She simply watched as Mikael was sealed away.

But as he vanished, to the amazement of the Sovereigns and Mikael himself, tears fell ever so slowly.

"Huh?" Mikael touched his tears. How?

Everything was going according to plan.

So why was he tearing up, crying?

Vaelthiela walked away muttering, " He is but a child....". Saying so, she withdrew from the Hall and back to her Domain

He then grinned so wide, he’d give a watermelon a run for its money, despite the tears.

"Well, I knew I’d never win. Not against you all,no."

He sighed deeply as his form faded.

"Till we meet again then, friends...."

And then, he was gone.

The look on Mikael’s face showed that he truly had a plan running. She knew what her children were each capable of, that he’d come for payback. She smiled faintly.

"He’ll surely be back. Make sure to keep your guards up". She vanished.

Her voice echoed. "He is not one to be taken lightly. You all fought well."

" I reject, Goddess. He-" Aetherion began to protest. But the Goddess waved him down.

" I will have none of it, Aetherion. It is over."

The Sovereigns knew how pained the Goddess was, yet none could decide what words exactly to say to her. So they left her be.

Meanwhile at Her innermost chambers, the Goddess of Creation wept another time.
