Chapter 4: First Reward
"Giiiiiik!"
The Forest Goblin charged like a mad dog, raising its wooden club against Dan Moriarty.
Dan Moriarty’s pupils narrowed, tracking the movement of the goblin quickly. Thanks to awakening as a streamer, his perception has heightened, making him able to follow certain movements he wouldn’t had been able to do minutes ago.
’Too wide. Too slow. Too obvious.’ Dan Moriarty thought, as his newly awakened instincts reacted almost naturally, shifting one step to the side and swinging his iron sword.
SLASH!
-30HP
The blade cut across the goblin’s shoulder, sending green blood spraying through the air.
"GIIIKK!"
The goblin screamed, stumbled forward, and crashed face-first into the dirt and died.
[You have dealt damage.]
[Forest Goblin HP: 61%]
Dan Moriarty blinked, "It survived?"
Clearly irritated, he had look at the iron sword information, wondering what attack power it had for it to be this inefficient.
[Iron Sword]
Rank: Common
Required Class: Swordsman, Magic Swordsman, Paladin,.....
Level Compatibility: >= 1
Physical Attack Power: 5-7 + (50% Strength)
Spirit Attack Power: 2-4 + (60% Spirit Power)
"This is crap!" Dan Moriarty reacted, but before he could say further, the goblin scrambled back up, clutching its bleeding shoulder, then glared at Dan Moriarty with hatred.
At the same time, the comment panel exploded with activity.
[@DrunkenSwordImmortal: Hahaha! What kind of sword swing was that? Even an undead can move with more force than him!]
[@GoldenFeatherPrincess: Not bad for a beginner. At the very least, he managed to strike the target instead of injuring himself.]
[@StoneGiantKing: Too weak. If this king were there, one punch would turn that goblin into paste.]
[@NineTailEmpress: His posture is clumsy, and his footing is unstable, yet... why does he still look somewhat cute? How troublesome.]
[@AbyssButcher: Ridiculous. Why does it look like the goblin is more frightened than the human standing before it?]
[Current Viewers: 39]
Dan Moriarty read through the comments, a flicker of disappointment crossing his face.
"This isn’t right," he thought, the observation prompting an immediate shift in his mind. His current approach simply wasn’t captivating them in the way he’d intended, and he knew that a change in strategy was absolutely necessary if he wanted to make any headway with the goblin.
"If their interest isn’t genuinely piqued, if I can’t manage to truly entertain them with what I’m doing," he reasoned, "then I won’t be given any reward."
"That outcome," he concluded, "is entirely unacceptable."
The goblin lunged again.
This time, Dan Moriarty did not retreat. He activated the instinctive knowledge that had entered his body after choosing Swordsman.
[Footwork Lv.1 Activated.]
His body moved swiftly to the goblin’s blind side. Before it could react, he thrust the sword forward.
PUCHI!
The iron blade pierced straight through the goblin’s throat, and the creature froze, it’s eyes bulging, before collapsing heavily to the ground.
[You have slain Forest Goblin Lv.1, Experience Gained: +20.]
[Level: 1 (Experience Value (20/100))]
[@ThunderPalaceGuard: Acceptable strike.]
[@GoldenFeatherPrincess gifted: 1 Copper Coin.]
[Infinite Amplification Activated.]
[1,000× Amplification in progress...]
[New Reward Received: 1,000 Copper Coins.]
’Finally a Reward,’ Dan Moriarty thought, his body filled with relief. ’And as expected, with my thousandfold amplification, one copper coins becomes a thousand and with the current exchange rate, one copper coins is 20 dollars, with that I just earned 20,000 dollars. This path might actually be as lucrative as being part of the family business.’
Dan Moriarty immediately straightened his posture and clasped his fists toward the sky.
"I thank Senior Princess for her boundless generosity. Your kindness shall never be forgotten."
[@GoldenFeatherPrincess: Hmph.]
[@AbyssButcher: Simp detected.]
Before Dan Moriarty could respond, rustling sounds echoed from the bushes around him.
One goblin. Two goblins. Three goblins.
Soon, five filthy goblins emerged, each wielding clubs, stone knives, and one carrying a broken pot lid as a shield.
They snarled and surrounded him.
Dan Moriarty’s smile slowly faded.
"This... appears slightly troublesome."
[@StoneGiantKing: He is dead. This king has already seen the ending.]
[@DrunkenSwordImmortal: Hahaha! Place your bets, everyone. How many screams will he let out before he falls?]
[@NineTailEmpress: I shall wager three screams. No more, no less.]
[@GoldenFeatherPrincess: Five. He looks stubborn enough to last that long.]
[@AbyssButcher: I care not for the number. I only hope he cries loudly.]
Reading these comments, Dan Moriarty gritted his teeth, and pointed his sword at the viewer panel that was hovering at his side.
"You beasts. Can you not support me for once?"
[@NineTailEmpress: Oh? He is actually talking back to us. How amusing.]
[@StoneGiantKing: Hmph. A mere mortal dares address us so casually? How arrogant.]
[@AbyssButcher: Junior, know your place and be silent. This Lord could kill you with a single breath from across realms.]
[@DrunkenSwordImmortal: Hahaha! Since you seek support, then kill ten goblins within twenty breaths, and this immortal shall gift you a Legendary-Rank Celestial Rain Sword. Do we have a deal?] ƒreewebɳovel.com
The goblins charged all at once.
"GIIIKK!"
Dan Moriarty inhaled sharply, raised his sword, and laughed.
"Deal! Then watch carefully. I will show you what I can do!"
