Chapter 122: Chapter 103: It’s Them Again, Part 2

Liu Xingxing ran over, and his eyes instantly lit up when he saw the Little Cat Girl curled into a ball on the ground. He circled her, itching to reach out and pinch her fluffy ears.

"Aah, let go! Ow, ow, ow! Holy crap, she broke the skin!" He hadn’t even touched her ears before the Little Cat Girl latched onto his arm. Her sharp little fangs left two small, bleeding puncture wounds, making Liu Xingxing shake his arm in pain.

Zhang Peng shot Liu Xingxing a look one might give an idiot, glanced at the Little Cat Girl, then walked over to Li Ziyu and bowed. Li Ziyu stared at the moron, his own face twitching.

’Serves you right!’

’You got here and immediately started prancing around, so of course you got bit.’

’You just have to touch everything, don’t you!’

Li Ziyu kept a straight face, trying his hardest not to laugh and maintain a serious expression.

The Little Cat Girl was afraid of Li Ziyu, but not of Liu Xingxing. She had smelled a familiar scent on him. Her bright eyes stared at the hopping Liu Xingxing, and she bared her fangs from time to time, threatening him not to come any closer, or she would bite him again!

"What did you bite me for? I have Catmen under my command, you know! We’re practically family!" Liu Xingxing said with a pained expression.

In response, the Little Cat Girl postured as if to pounce, which scared Liu Xingxing into retreating to Li Ziyu’s side. Still, his eyes were filled with curiosity as he gazed at her.

’She’s different from the Treasure Hunting Catman race. A real Beast Girl.’

"Alright, stop messing around!" Li Ziyu rapped Liu Xingxing on the head, which finally made him settle down. Then he continued, "Zhang Peng, do you know about the Alliance Army?"

Zhang Peng was taken aback by the question and shook his head in confusion. He had been focused on regrouping his forces, so his intelligence gathering hadn’t been as effective as before.

"What’s happened now? How did an Alliance Army get formed?" Liu Xingxing asked, rubbing the spot where he’d been hit as he came over to see what was going on.

"Just a bunch of sore losers who can’t sit still. They’re planning to come looking for trouble," Li Ziyu explained with a shrug. "Goblins, Lizardmen, and our old acquaintances, the Headhunter Race."

"I really haven’t heard anything about it. I’ll go ask around in a bit." Zhang Peng’s expression turned serious. They had just gotten settled, and now someone was trying to stir up trouble. This was unacceptable. This was also a chance to show Li Ziyu what he was capable of.

"Um, can I go now?" the Little Cat Girl asked pitifully from the side.

The moment she spoke, she drew everyone’s gaze, which scared her into shrinking back again, the very picture of someone small, helpless, and pitiful.

’Li Ziyu said he’d let me go if I was good. He’s not going to go back on his word, is he?’

Remembering the terrifying legends about the Undead, the Little Cat Girl trembled in fear.

"Go? You want to leave?" Li Ziyu asked, looking at the Little Cat Girl.

"Sob... You promised! You promised you’d let me go," she choked out, her lip trembling as tears she couldn’t hold back streamed down her face.

"Uh, what are you crying for? If you want to leave, then leave. I didn’t say you couldn’t," Li Ziyu said, exasperated. He gave a dismissive wave of his hand.

"Sob, you’re lying— Huh? What did you say?" The Little Cat Girl abruptly stopped crying and raised her head, staring blankly at Li Ziyu.

"You wanted to leave, didn’t you? So go on," Li Ziyu said with a shrug.

"Really? Then I’m leaving." The Little Cat Girl scrambled to her feet and took two steps toward the main gate. She glanced back; the Human who controlled the Undead truly didn’t seem to have any intention of stopping her. She immediately quickened her pace, but before she could even take two running steps, she suddenly face-planted with a SPLAT.

Little Cat Girl: ...

Li Ziyu: ...

Everyone else: ...

After a moment, seeing no movement from the Little Cat Girl, Li Ziyu tilted his head.

’I already said you could go. What’s this all about? What, are you trying to pull a scam on me?’

Liu Xingxing trotted over and poked the collapsed Little Cat Girl. "What’s wrong with you?"

"Sob... I’m so hungry... I have no strength left..." the Little Cat Girl wailed again.

"Pfft..."

’I’m a professional; I don’t laugh easily. Unless I can’t help it.’

Liu Xingxing’s laughter grew from a snicker to a roar. He wiped away the tears of mirth from the corners of his eyes and turned to Li Ziyu. "This one’s delirious from hunger. She had no energy to run, so she collapsed."

Li Ziyu covered his face and sighed. He waved over two Undead and instructed them to get some roasted meat, then walked forward and picked up the Little Cat Girl himself.

Not knowing what the Master of the Undead was about to do, the Little Cat Girl became extremely nervous. She bared her fangs and brandished her claws at Li Ziyu, trying to scare him off. In response, he just flicked her on the forehead, and she immediately quieted down.

He carried the Little Cat Girl over to the dining table, set her down, and patted her on the head. "Stay here and don’t move, alright?"

’The table? Is he planning to eat me?’

The Little Cat Girl’s eyes welled up with huge tears again as she looked pitiably at Li Ziyu.

’Huh?’

’That smell... It’s meat! Something delicious!’

Suddenly, the Little Cat Girl’s nose twitched. She whipped her head around toward the source of the aroma and saw two Skeletons walking over carrying bone platters. On them sat pieces of steaming, fragrant roasted meat.

Under the Little Cat Girl’s expectant gaze, the two Skeletons... walked right past her and over to Li Ziyu.

’Sob... The roasted meat is gone!’

The Little Cat Girl watched with longing eyes. Then, to her surprise, she saw the Master of the Undead say something to the two Skeletons. The Skeletons then brought the bone platters over and placed the fragrant roasted meat on the table in front of her.

SLURP.

The aroma of the meat hit her full-force, and the Little Cat Girl slurped up the drool that was already escaping her lips. Her eyes shone as she stared at the roasted meat. RUMBLE RUMBLE. Her stomach felt even emptier now.

’I want it so bad. That roasted meat looks so delicious.’

’There are two big pieces of meat. If I just sneak a tiny bite, they probably won’t notice, right?’

Her fingers twitched restlessly. Lured by the temptation of the roasted meat, her sharp little claws extended. Saliva pooled in her mouth faster than she could swallow it, slowly trickling down from the corner of her lips.
