Chapter 120: Chapter 102: Pure-blooded Cat Girl 3
"Well, well, well, a Catman..." It was as if Li Ziyu hadn’t heard anything else. He only noticed the word "Catman." He stepped down from his White Bone Throne, walked over to Mumu, and leaned down slightly to get a better look at the Little Catman.
She was a young little thing, probably around ten years old. Atop her head was a pair of cat ears. Since Mumu was holding her up, her tail drooped listlessly. If one were to ignore the ears and tail, she looked exactly like a little Human girl.
The Little Cat Girl’s lips trembled as tears welled up in her eyes. She looked at Li Ziyu in terror, the picture of misery.
’Wow, a Pure-blooded Beastman! She’s so cute!’
’Right, this is what a Beastman is *supposed* to look like. That Treasure Hunting Catman under Liu Xingxing has a full-on cat’s head. It’s cute, sure, but it always felt a little off.’
’Catmen should be the "cat-eared lady" type. Now that I have a Little Cat Girl, can adult cat girls be far behind?!’
Li Ziyu stared at those fluffy cat ears and couldn’t resist reaching out to poke one. The ear twitched. He smiled and gave it a gentle pinch. The Little Cat Girl immediately let out a soft whimper, her body squirming as she tried to struggle free from the Minotaur’s grasp.
Fortunately, Li Ziyu knew when to stop. He let go of the wonderfully soft ear and asked the Little Cat Girl with a gentle smile, "Who are you? How did you end up here?"
To his surprise, his simple question was all it took for the Little Cat Girl to burst out wailing, a torrent of tears streaming down her face. "P-Please, I’m begging you, don’t eat me! I don’t taste good, my meat is sour! And don’t give me to the Undead! I’m still small, I won’t be of any use if you turn me into one..."
The sudden outburst of tears startled Li Ziyu. He quickly reached out to pat the Little Cat Girl’s head, comforting her softly. "There, there, don’t cry. Don’t be afraid, okay? We’re not going to eat you. Mumu, you can let her go."
"But, City Lord, she could be a spy..."
"That’s enough. She’s just a child. Am I supposed to be afraid of her? This is my turf."
Since his City Lord had spoken, Mumu didn’t press the issue. He slowly lowered the Little Cat Girl to the floor and released his grip.
The moment she was free, the Little Cat Girl’s crying stopped instantly. Her body blurred as she shot toward the main gate at incredible speed.
"Huh?!"
Tas Tuling raised his Totem Pole, electricity arcing around it as he prepared to smash it down. On either side of the great doors, two Skeleton Ox Demons materialized, standing guard like a pair of door gods. But faster than any of them was a black shadow that shot out from beneath the White Bone Throne, instantly overtaking the Little Cat Girl.
The Dark Skeleton emerged from the shadows, its hand lashing out to grip the Little Cat Girl’s throat with unerring accuracy. It lifted her into the air, its jaw clicking open and shut as it breathed out plumes of black smoke. The sight was both evil and horrifying.
"Ghk..."
With her throat constricted, the Little Cat Girl couldn’t even struggle. The whites of her eyes began to show, and it was clear the Dark Skeleton was about to kill her.
Tas Tuling’s Totem Pole never hit the ground. He stared at the Dark Skeleton’s Soul Fire and couldn’t help but shudder. Inexplicably, he could read a sense of excitement from that profoundly evil Soul Fire—it seemed to be taking pleasure in the act of ending a life.
"Stop!"
"If you dare kill her, I’ll give your skull to the young Minotaurs to kick around for fun every single day!"
The Dark Skeleton froze. It tilted its head to meet Li Ziyu’s gaze, then suddenly seemed to deflate. It gave the Little Cat Girl a disgruntled shake, carried her over to Li Ziyu, and tossed her unceremoniously on the floor before retreating back into the shadows in a huff.
Li Ziyu crouched down and gently patted the Little Cat Girl’s face. After a moment, the little one took a sharp, deep breath and jolted awake.
"AAAH—"
She shrieked and leaped to her feet, only to be caught by Mumu and placed back on the ground.
"Stop screaming, and don’t try to run. You can’t get away," Li Ziyu said, still crouching in front of the Little Cat Girl as he patted her head.
Still terrified, the Little Cat Girl scanned her surroundings, deathly afraid that the horrifying figure from before would reappear.
