Chapter 117: Chapter 101: Wandering Soul Enters the Coffin

"Ouch!"

After taking a solid blow, Liu Xingxing clutched his head, hopping around and hissing through his teeth. "Ow, ow, ow! Boss, you don’t play fair! That really hurts!"

Seeing his antics, Li Ziyu chuckled. "Mhm, I feel better now. Oh, Xingxing, if you’re still unhappy about something, go tell it to the Undead. I’m sure they’ll get a kick out of it."

"..."

Liu Xingxing stared dumbfounded at Li Ziyu, his eyes welling with tears.

’Tell the Undead?’

’How could that possibly end well?!’

He turned to look at Zhang Peng, only to find him staring blankly in the direction of the Minotaurs.

’Damn it, you traitor! You were the one who asked me why the boss looked so down, but I’m the only one who ended up getting smacked!’

Li Ziyu cheerfully patted Liu Xingxing’s shoulder, then took the Soul Coffin and headed toward the main building.

Only after Li Ziyu was a good distance away did Liu Xingxing grit his teeth and storm over to Zhang Peng. "You sold me out!"

Zhang Peng pulled his gaze away from the Minotaurs and gave Liu Xingxing an incredibly calm look. "I did not. I was asking you. You were the one who ran up to ask the boss."

"Uh... I... I guess that’s true. No, wait! If you hadn’t asked me, why would I have gone to ask the boss?" Liu Xingxing paused, the realization dawning on him as he glared at Zhang Peng.

"That still has nothing to do with me. I never told you to go ask the boss. You could have just guessed," Zhang Peng said, shrugging with his hands spread wide.

After thinking about it, Liu Xingxing felt that Zhang Peng had a point. But he was still the one who’d gotten hit, so he couldn’t help but get mad. "Some friend you are! You didn’t even take the heat with me!"

"..." Zhang Peng fell silent for a moment, seeming to ponder this. Then, he stared into Liu Xingxing’s eyes, stuck out his tongue, and went, "Blehh, blehh, blehh..."

Liu Xingxing: !!!

’What the hell? I did NOT see that coming!’

"Let me bonk you on the head to prove our friendship!"

"No."

"Come on, man. Brothers have to face hardship together."

"So I can be your scapegoat?"

"Are you trying to have a rap battle with me? You’re rhyming now?"

"Blehh, blehh, blehh..."

Liu Xingxing’s face was flushed with anger, while Zhang Peng, with his bed-head hair, remained perfectly calm.

Their squabbling didn’t bother Li Ziyu in the slightest. He had already returned to the main building with the Soul Coffin and placed it beside the White Bone Throne.

’Before, I was worried about not having enough bones, and I always had a surplus of Soul Energy. Now I have the bones, but I have to worry about Soul Energy instead. Even tens of thousands at a time isn’t enough.’

’Is this some kind of joke?’

’Sigh... I guess I’ll have to rely on my dear ’brothers from another mother’ and ’beloved friends and family’ out in the Wasteland to come pay me a visit, huh?’

Li Ziyu closed his eyes and prayed with all his heart: ’If you can hear my voice, please hurry over. I need you. I’m begging you, come and kill me! I just want to die! Who else is there?!’

...

「The scorching sun hung high over the Vanguard Army Camp of the three great blights.」

"Latest intelligence!" a Headhunter cried out, kneeling outside his chieftain’s tent.

A woman’s scream came from inside the tent. "No, spare me! Help! Ahhh—"

The shrill scream was followed by silence. A moment later, the tent flap was pushed aside. The chieftain of the Headhunter Race glanced at the kneeling scout and held out his hand.

The scout lowered his head and respectfully offered up a small piece of Beast Hide Paper.

Taking the Beast Hide Paper, the Headhunter chieftain jerked his head toward his tent. "Haul that thing inside away. It’s a bonus meal for the boys."

"Thank you, Chieftain." The scout kept his head lowered, but a glimmer of delight flashed in his eyes.

"And do a clean job of it."

The Headhunter chieftain staggered to the side, found a large rock, and sat down before unfolding the Beast Hide Paper.

There was only a short sentence written on it: "The Undead are in the forbidden Wraith Mountain Range."

The chieftain stood up, his gaze turning toward the Lizardman and goblin camps.

’Found them. Finally, a little fun.’

From the tent behind him, the scout and a few other tribesmen emerged, carrying out the body of a Beastman woman. Her throat had been slit and one of her arms was hacked off.
