The morning after returning from Aurelis Divine City, Kai sat with Thessaly’s consultation notes spread before him.
Three development paths.

The answer kept returning to the same place.
Deep Realm Cultivation first.
The others built on foundations. Foundations came first.
Luna arrived with morning tea. Read through several pages while Kai watched the settlement wake up outside. Eventually looked up.
"Deep Realm Cultivation requires mapping the realm’s spiritual flow patterns."
"We have Veil and Calla for that."
"And Willow."
Luna set the notes down.
"If the tree understands what we’re trying to do, she might help guide where efforts are most effective."
"When do we start?"
"Today."
The team assembled after morning training. Kai. Luna. Veil. Calla. Willow. And Nova, who simply appeared at the group’s edge as they prepared to leave. Nobody questioned it.
They gathered beneath the Sacred World Tree in midmorning light.
Kai explained the goal without revealing the authority’s involvement. Intentional cultivation of the realm’s spiritual environment. Identifying optimal locations for concentrated effort. Understanding how natural flows moved and how they could be encouraged.
Willow pressed her back against the tree’s base before he finished speaking.
When he stopped, she opened her eyes.
"She already knows what you want."
A pause.
"She says the deepest flow runs northeast."
Veil confirmed without prompting.
"The Spirit Stone formation is the densest concentration of absorbed realm energy outside the tree itself." Her Spirit Sight tracked slowly. "But the flow doesn’t stop there. It continues beyond."
"Toward what?"
"I’m not certain. Something that has been absorbing realm energy for a very long time."
Nova was watching the northeast horizon.
"We’ll find it," she said simply.
Kai looked at the group.
"Not today. Today we map the flow patterns closest to the settlement."
Veil accepted this with a small nod.
The mapping consumed most of the day. Veil and Calla moved through the settlement and surrounding area together. Spirit Sight combined with Realm Resonance produced a detailed picture of how spiritual energy actually moved through the environment.
It followed consistent paths. Through the Spirit Stone deposit. Along the river. Concentrating beneath the Sacred World Tree. Radiating outward through the farm areas where Meadow and Calla’s affinities had been working.
Energy gathered where life was densest. Moved toward where it could be most useful.
Willow added another layer. Walking slowly. Stopping occasionally. Translating what the tree perceived.

By midafternoon they had a working map.
Seven natural concentration points within the settlement area. Three flow blockages clearable with minor structural adjustments. Two external cultivation sites. And one location all three of them had identified independently.
Five hundred meters south of the Sacred World Tree.
Three separate flow paths converging.
"What happens at a convergence point?" Kai asked.
Veil thought carefully. "Energy density multiplies rather than adds. Three flows meeting don’t produce three times the concentration. Considerably more."
Willow looked at the location. "The tree calls it a root heart. There are three in the realm. This is the closest."

Calla pressed her hand to the ground nearby. Smiled. "The farms will be happier tomorrow."
Meadow appeared from the agricultural area without being summoned. Knelt. Touched the soil.

She tilted her head. "The energy flow through the farm area just increased by a lot."

"We should find out."
He agreed. Another question for the next visit.
The evening settled around them. Fires lit. Dinner shared. Thirty-one people living fully inside Spirit Stone walls beside a silver river.
This was the empire. Not the future version. This. Right now.
Being built every single day.
