Chapter 279: Princess Kicks Faye Out Of Her Car

So Haley and Sasha babysat the Griffin children while the rest dragged the parents along to find Malo.

Faye was in Princess’s car, while Beam drove Sasha’s car.

Inside Beam’s car were the Griffins in the backseat and Peamah, who was not looking happy. His face had been stiff the entire time. He leaned his head against the cold glass of the window, his jaw clenched tight as the tires hummed against the dark asphalt.

He was angry that he was still being dragged around. He checked his phone; it was past two in the morning.

Hanging around in the gym wasn’t enough... now he was tagging along to some unknown place.

Meanwhile Inside Princess’s car, there was nonstop talking.

Princess wasn’t ready to let the matter go and was still on the topic of Faye not calling her first. Her hands gripped the steering wheel so tightly, her voice rising over the quiet purr of the engine.

Faye, on the other hand, rested her head on her hand, quietly listening to her girlfriend. She wasn’t bored, but she wished Princess would just let the matter rest.

"We are partners for life. Not just as co-parents or as lovers, we are partners in everything that we do. We are meant to listen to one another... obey one another." Princess argued, her gaze fixed sharply on the road ahead as she took a fast turn.

"I’m currently listening to you right now. It’s not like I have a choice." Faye muttered. She didn’t move an inch, her voice flat and dry as she kept her face turned away.

"And also, I am an Alpha. You are supposed to need me for everything. If you’re in trouble, you should need me. When you’re stuck with a problem, you should need me. Even in bed, you should need me." Princess stated, her tone full of that stubborn, commanding weight that always came out when her pride was stung.

"I’ll definitely agree with the last one." Faye muttered. A small, sarcastic breath escaped her nose, but she still didn’t look over.

"The main point here is that you should need me."

And then Faye started...

"No, the point is that Princess Kings is an Alpha who needs an Omega to need her all the time. I told you I had it under control, then you got the constant thought that I am stronger than you and won’t have any need for you. You want me to call you whenever I need something.... Hello babe, I just found this expensive necklace online and I need you to buy it for me. Oh babe, I can’t open this pickle jar. I need you to open it for me because you’re stronger than me. I need you, babe. I need you, babe. I’m not a needy person... Matter of fact you’re the one who is needy..." Faye said, now the one doing all the talking. She sat up straight, turning her body fully toward the driver’s seat as the words poured out of her fast and sharp.

"If I need you, I’ll tell you that I need you. And you have to understand that I don’t always have to need you for everything. I get it... you’re an Alpha. You always want to be in control. But sometimes you can’t control everything. You needed me to have to tell you to stop using the fucked-up drugs your therapist prescribed for you, even though you knew they were slowly killing you. All this time, you’ve been the one needing me."

Faye stopped talking and turned toward the window. Her chest heaved as she let out a sharp breath, her hands shoving deep into the pockets of her hoodie.

The car fell silent. The only sound left was the rush of the wind against the windshield as they sped down the empty highway.

Neither girl spoke until Faye broke the silence.

She shifted uncomfortably in her seat, a new thought popping into her head that had been bothering her since they left the apartment.

"What happened to Eriko’s house? You should have dropped the pups off there. I don’t get why Kiara happens to be the one you put our pups’ lives on." Faye said. Her voice was colder now, the mention of the girl making her stomach tie into a knot.

"That’s because she happens to be the one doing your job, since you’re always busy putting yourself in a fucked-up situation." Princess said, giving her girlfriend a sharp look. She didn’t hesitate, her eyes cutting sideways for a fraction of a second before locking back onto the road.

"So that’s where you’re heading now, huh? Admitting the fact that Kiara has taken my place?" Faye said. She felt a sudden sting in her chest, her fingers clenching into fists inside her pockets.

"I never said that."

"No, that’s what you want to say. Fucking say it Princess. I’m not good mother material for the pups, but Kiara is. Kiara has never had the need to fail an exam, but I have. She happens to have straight A’s and has won so many competitions, but I haven’t. Kiara is the type of girlfriend you need, the perfect body shape, the busty boobs, the one ready to marry you so you can have your strikes back. She is the one you actually booked, but instead you got the one you never wanted..." freewebnovel.cσ๓

Princess was stunned into silence. She didn’t know what to say or how to resolve the issue. Her foot hovered over the gas pedal, her mouth opening slightly but no words coming out as she stared blindly at the pavement ahead.

Princess wasn’t the only one whom the school principal had been having sessions with. Not directly, but she had been planting those words inside Faye’s mind, adding little clues about Kiara’s school achievements and comparing Faye’s scores with those of the top three students.

Whenever Faye passed the school hallway, she would stop by the school board and stare at the top students.

Malo had once mentioned that Princess disliked people with poor score sheets, during the time he was reading for his exam so Princess won’t fire him...

Even though Princess had never complained about Faye’s grades, there were still signs.

The seeds Silviana had planted had begun to sprout. They were tearing through Faye’s confidence from the inside out, turning every little interaction into a battlefield.

"Just stop talking," Princess said. Her voice was strained, a hard line forming around her lips as she gripped the wheel even tighter.

"Why should I stop talking? You don’t want to admit the truth, because you’re just waiting for me to fail so you can go back to her." Faye snapped, her breathing growing shallow and fast as the anger fully took over.

Princess tried to play music through the dashboard, hoping to distract her, but Faye wouldn’t stop. Princess’s finger hit the touch screen, a loud track suddenly blasting through the speakers, but Faye just raised her voice right over the sound.

So Princess sped up, catching up to Beam’s car, then drifted right in front of it. The tires squealed loudly as she yanked the wheel, cutting sharply across the lane and forcing Beam to hit the brakes hard behind them.

Both cars came to a halt. The headlights of Sasha’s car flashed brightly into Princess’s rearview mirror as the dust settled around them on the shoulder of the road.

"I don’t like driving someone else’s car, so you’re the one who has to leave," Princess said. She reached over and hit the unlock button, the mechanical click sounding incredibly loud in the tense cabin.

"Excuse me?" Faye blinked, turning her head completely to stare at her girlfriend.

"Get out of my car." Princess repeated, her jaw set as she stared straight ahead, refusing to look back.

"Are you really kicking me out of the car?"

"You can squeeze in with the rest. Out."

"You know what? Fuck you."

Faye got out of Princess’s car and joined the other one.
