Chapter 148: Officially The Alpha Princess’s Girlfriend

Princess dropped what she was doing, the kitchen tools clattering onto the counter as she turned all her attention toward me. She walked over with a steady, focused pace that made my heart hammer against my ribs. Without saying a word, she leaned in and kissed me. It wasn’t a quick peck; it was deep and heavy. I made a soft little moan as she kissed me, my hands reaching out to steady myself against her.

She pulled away just an inch, her lips still so close to mine that I could feel the heat of her breath. They were almost touching, teasing me. I didn’t move. I just kept staring at her lips, trying to catch my breath while my head spun.

"This Alpha is crazy, not a perfect one. Do you still want me to be your girlfriend?" she whispered. Her voice was intoxicating, vibrating in the small space between us.

All I could do was stare at her moving lips. I felt like I was under a spell. I swallowed hard, finding my voice even though my chest felt tight.

"This omega is also crazy, but you are the only one that I keep wanting. I want to be your girlfriend, not a mate-friend or pup bearer. I want to be yours just as you are mine. We are not just some one-night stand but childhood friends, even if I don’t remember. I want you, Princess. I said it yesterday and I will keep saying it."

I expressed myself fully, letting the words tumble out straight from my heart. I didn’t care if it sounded dramatic. I meant every bit of it.

I know Alphas are dangerous. Some are complete psychos who only care about power. This one standing in front of me is definitely one of them. She is built differently, with an edge that most people are afraid of, but she is also loyal. She has proven that to me several times now. She marked me, claiming me in a way that can’t be undone, so there is no one else I would rather be with than her.

Princess sat down on the chair and shifted it closer to me, her eyes locked onto mine with an intensity that made me want to look away, but I couldn’t.

"Will you marry me?" free𝑤ebnovel.com

What the...!!!

My brain stalled. Where did that question even come from? She was asking it with such a serious face, no hint of a joke in her eyes.

"What is your deal with marriage? We are just 16. We haven’t even finished high school or college, and you want marriage?" I panicked. The kitchen suddenly felt a lot smaller. I just wanted to be her girlfriend, to have someone to hold hands with and talk to. I wasn’t ready to be a wife. Not now. I still have so many things I want to accomplish for myself before I tie myself down like that.

"Every time my gramps calls, the first thing he asks is when I am getting married to the girl I knocked up," Princess said, her shoulders slumping slightly. She looked genuinely annoyed. "I have been giving so many excuses. I don’t know how long I can keep doing that because he is never going to stop. He’s persistent."

"Princess, let’s just be girlfriends. We have a lot to accomplish before we even think about marriage. In fact, being marked is already a way of being bonded together. We already have each other in every way that matters right now. Marriage should be something we talk about in the future, okay?" I said, trying to keep my voice calm and reasonable despite the panic bubbling in my gut.

"When my gramps calls, you are going to be the one to explain to him why you keep rejecting my proposal. This is the third rejection," Princess grumbled. She stood back up, went back to the bowl of batter, and continued whisking it like she was trying to take her frustration out on the flour.

Wait, wait.. this girl hasn’t even answered my actual question yet. She was just grumbling about her grandpa.

"Princess, are we in a relationship or not?" I asked, needing to hear the words clearly.

"Yes, girlfriend, we are officially an item," she said. She didn’t look up from the bowl, but I caught her smirking. A real, genuine smirk that reached her eyes.

I couldn’t help but smile. A warm, fuzzy feeling spread through my chest, chasing away the stress of the marriage talk.

"Seal it with a kiss," I ordered, feeling a bit bold.

She didn’t need to be told twice. She came back to me and kissed me properly, then started kissing me all over my face like an excited puppy. It tickled, and I laughed, trying to push her away but not really wanting her to stop.

Yes, I am officially the Alpha Princess’s girlfriend. Not a side dish....

"Now that we are girlfriends, will you pick me up every day and we will go to school together?" I asked, still feeling the happy glow of the moment.

"Yes, I will pick you up," she promised, her voice softening.

"Hold my hand when we walk down the school hallway?"

"Yes, I will hold your hand."

"Have late-night conversations?"

"If you actually pick up the phone, yes, we will have late-night conversations."

"I’m hungry," I said suddenly. The happiness was great, but the physical reality of my situation was starting to take over. I felt my stomach rumbling loudly in the quiet kitchen. I’m sure the pups have waited long enough for their mama to prepare breakfast. She has been whisking that same batter for so long now that it probably shouldn’t even be called batter anymore.

"I’m almost done, babe," she murmured.

Wow. That gave me a literal chill down my spine. I’m someone’s babe. If someone had told me at the beginning of the year that I was going to get pregnant or become someone’s girlfriend, I would have punched them right in the face for being crazy. Life comes at you fast.

But seriously, the hunger was becoming an emergency. I couldn’t hold it in anymore. My stomach felt like it was eating itself.

"Princess, please let’s just order something to eat. I’m seriously starving here!" I cried out, clutching my midsection.

"Princess?" she muttered, stopping the whisking again. She turned to look at me with a pout. "I want a pet name. Call me something else."

I paused. What should I call her? She already calls me babe, so I felt like I needed to come up with something equally special. Baby? No, too cliché. Honey? Too old-fashioned. Maybe bitch looks fine, but that probably wouldn’t go over well right now.

I was too hungry to be creative. My brain was only functioning on a basic level. I looked at her, then looked at the bowl in her hand. I couldn’t think of anything other than the pancake batter she was holding.

"Pancake, can we please just order something to eat? I’m seriously starving here," I said, sounding desperate.

She froze for a second, then she started laughing. It was a loud, bright sound. "Pancake? That is cute. Okay, fine. I am a pancake," she said. She finally dropped the bowl into the sink and pulled out her phone. "Okay, what do you want to eat, Puppy?"

"My brother calls me puppy," I complained, wrinkling my nose.

"Well, look at you. Under that fierceness of yours, you really are just a cute little puppy. Congratulations, you have officially upgraded from my omega to my cute little puppy."

I felt my eyes burning as I stared at her. It wasn’t because of the puppy name, though. It was because the lack of food was making me emotional and aggressive.

"Princess, FOOD!" I roared.

"On it! On it! What do you want me to order?" she said quickly. Her eyes went wide, and she looked genuinely intimidated by my anger. I had been asking for food for a while now, and she finally realized I wasn’t playing around anymore.

We ended up ordering a massive spread: chicken nuggets, burgers with extra pickles, and a mountain of fries.

The moment the delivery driver arrived and the smell of grease hit the air, my face lit up. I didn’t even wait to put the food on plates. I sat there and ate until my stomach was completely full, feeling the tension leave my body with every bite. Princess just sat across from me, keeping her distance and staring at me while I worked my way through the burgers.

When she tentatively reached out to try and take one single fry from my pile, I hit her hand away instantly. I told her not to touch my food. She looked surprised, but she didn’t fight me on it. She ended up quietly eating the one pancake she actually managed to finish making while I finished off the nuggets.
