Chapter 125: Chapter 125: Grandmother’s Difficulty
The smile on Nina Sinclair’s face instantly froze. She shot a sideways glance, her eyes filled with rage, at the staff members talking nearby.
’What do these people know?’
’Can they really tell everything just from a person’s face?’
Before Nina Sinclair could say anything, one of the staff members whispered to her colleague, "That girl in the mask looks so pretty. Her eyes are so big, and her eyelashes are so long."
Chloe Sinclair’s hearing was sharp, and she looked over toward the sound.
The staff members, caught whispering by the person they were talking about, were more than a little embarrassed.
They were about to apologize when, to their surprise, Chloe Sinclair slowly walked over. Her voice was crisp and pleasant, almost making their ears tingle. "Hello."
"H-hello." freēwēbηovel.c૦m
The staff member was a bit overwhelmed by the kind reception. "You’re not angry?"
They had clearly been whispering just now.
Chloe Sinclair tilted her head. Her mask covered most of her face, leaving only a pair of large, dark eyes staring unblinkingly at the two of them. Puzzled, she asked, "Why would I be angry?"
’The two girls didn’t say anything bad about me; in fact, they praised my looks. What reason do I have to be angry?’
Chloe Sinclair chuckled softly and, without another word to the staff members, turned and headed to Gabriel Sinclair’s lounge area.
"Aww, she must be our idol’s sister. She’s so sweet."
Nina Sinclair, who had been about to leave, felt her face darken. She couldn’t help but snap, "She’s such a fake, it’s all an act!"
’She used to be so crude and unbearable. I don’t know what’s happened to her lately to cause such a huge change.’
The more Nina Sinclair thought about it, the angrier she became. With a huff, she spun around and stormed off.
After Nina Sinclair left, the staff members stared blankly for a moment, their expressions souring. One of them muttered, "Is there something wrong with her?"
"Who knows?"

Gabriel Sinclair had just finished filming. He had originally wanted everyone to wait for him at the hotel, but his assistant forgot to notify them, so they ended up coming to the set.
"Chloe’s here too?" Gabriel Sinclair’s face lit up with excitement. He quickly ushered Chloe Sinclair to a seat. "You must be tired. Sit down, quick."
Then, he waved his hand. "Dad, Brother, don’t just stand there. There are plenty of little stools here."
Nina Sinclair looked on, her face pale with anger.
Because Gabriel Sinclair had given the softest sofa in the entire lounge to Chloe Sinclair.
Meanwhile, the other seats were small, hard stools without even a cushion.
"Chloe, get up and let Dad sit there. Look, they’ve had a long day too."
The quiet, harmonious, and cheerful atmosphere was instantly shattered by Nina Sinclair.
Only then did Gabriel Sinclair notice Nina Sinclair’s presence. He scratched his head, completely bewildered. "Chloe’s a girl; she should have the softer seat. It’s a rule in the Sinclair Family that we don’t let our girls suffer."
’This seemed perfectly normal to them. Why does Nina Sinclair look like she’s having such a hard time accepting it?’
Nina Sinclair: "..."
"Third Brother, I’m a girl too." A flicker of hurt crossed Nina Sinclair’s eyes, which welled up with tears, enough to soften anyone’s gaze.
Seeing this, Chloe Sinclair’s lips curved into a barely-there smile. She crossed her legs, settling in to enjoy the show.
She shifted her gaze to Gabriel Sinclair.
Gabriel Sinclair stared blankly for several seconds, his expression unreadable. But the words that came out of his mouth almost made Nina Sinclair cough up a lung.
"Sorry, I didn’t see you there."
Hearing Gabriel Sinclair’s thoughtless words, Nina Sinclair was furious, but knowing her position in the family, she couldn’t say what she truly felt.
"Third Brother, if you do that again, I’ll get angry!"
Nina Sinclair tried to save face.
But it was unclear if Gabriel Sinclair had even taken it in. He just grunted in response, leaving Nina Sinclair unable to figure out what he meant.
Chloe spoke up. "I miss Grandma. Since Gabriel is done with his scenes, let’s head back."
This time, the men didn’t object. They didn’t sit for much longer before leaving by car.
「 」
A few days ago, C-City had been hit by a heavy rainstorm.
Madam Sinclair lived in the countryside, in a rather remote area.
The road was muddy and full of potholes.
Fortunately, the group was dressed casually. Although their pants and shoes got dirty, they didn’t look too bad.
Nina Sinclair, however, was a different story.
In her effort to outshine Chloe Sinclair, she had completely forgotten that Madam Sinclair lived in the countryside. Today, she was wearing a long dress and a pair of high heels.
She couldn’t stand the country roads after just a few steps.
Now, the hem of her dress and her high heels, worth tens of thousands, were caked in mud.
On top of that, the back of her skirt had, at some point, brushed against a pile of cow dung. As she walked, the hem would occasionally stick to her leg.
If she had a change of clothes, she would have thrown the dress away on the spot.
By the time they finally reached the village entrance, Nina Sinclair was on the verge of a breakdown.
She looked at the calm and composed Chloe Sinclair, so angry she could have ground her molars to dust.
’Why does Chloe Sinclair look so clean, while I...’
’Look like a beggar on the street!’
The more she thought, the angrier she got, and the darker her expression became.
Nina Sinclair was a complete mess.
She urged, "Dad, Brother, let’s hurry. Grandma must be getting anxious."
"Mm."
Mr. Sinclair silently shifted a little to the side, his face expressionless.
Chloe Sinclair quietly raised a hand to cover her nose and mouth, a complicated look in her eyes.
But Nina Sinclair didn’t notice any of this.
The group navigated the familiar path to a villa on the outskirts of Westbrook.
Madam Sinclair was already standing at the door waiting for them.
She spotted Nina Sinclair at the back of the group at a glance and hurried over to greet her.
"What took you so long? Are you tired?"
The moment she saw Madam Sinclair, Nina Sinclair almost burst into tears.
She lowered her head, her gaze shifting as she stole a glance at Mr. Sinclair and Chloe Sinclair beside her.
Then she shook her head and said in a low voice, "We were delayed a bit on the road. I’m not tired."
Madam Sinclair’s heart ached for her instantly. But as she got closer to Nina Sinclair, she suddenly frowned. "Where is that smell of dung coming from?"
Nina Sinclair’s face paled. Realizing the stench was coming from her, her face instantly turned beet red.
"Grandma, I’m so sorry. I wanted to dress up nicely to see you, but I didn’t expect it to have rained in C-City, and I slipped and fell on the way..."
Hearing this, Madam Sinclair was utterly heartbroken for her.
But then she processed the rest and questioned Mr. Sinclair, "Nina fell, and none of you helped her up?"
Mr. Sinclair sounded a bit helpless. "Mom, Nina’s not a child. If she falls, she can get back up on her own..."
’Besides, this whole situation is her own doing.’
Seeing the situation was getting tense, Nina Sinclair cleverly stepped in to mediate. "Grandma, it’s okay."
She paused, seeming a little sad. "After all, this is Chloe’s first time in the countryside, so she’s probably not familiar with the roads. It’s only right for Dad and my brothers to look after her."
Chloe Sinclair: "..."
’Wow, that’s some next-level victim-playing right there.’
Sure enough, Madam Sinclair’s sharp gaze shifted to her. "Do you really think you’re a true Miss Sinclair just because you entered the Sinclair Family?"
