Chapter 66: Chapter 66
Octavia and her troop were finally going home. After everything she’d had to face, she’d almost torn her hair off. But they were finally done. Home called to her, and so did victory.
The contents of the letter in her hand had mystified her initially, but the more she thought about it, the happier she became.
Her idiot of a brother had chosen to take this little kingdom called Epirus because of the woman who had saved his life on the battlefield. It all made sense to her now. He was in love with the whore.
But as she taught about it, she hesitated. That might not be all there was to it. Her brother was anything but reckless, and she wasn’t sure he would risk their father’s rage for a woman.
Whatever the reason was, she didn’t care; it only gave her an advantage.
"Is anyone out there?" She called. They were currently in Clypsos.
"Yes, your majesty," a soldier answered as he burst in through the door.
"Announce to the men, it’s time to go home."
The soldier bowed and left.

Clair and Theia had almost made a full recovery, while Larissa had regained consciousness.
They lounge about on the ship, ate, and slept. This has been their routine for a week. Selene and Calista have begun to act slightly scatterbrained.
They would slur over their words or act as if they’d drunk all day long. However, the next day, they would seem completely fine.
The same began to happen to Larissa, then Theia and Clair, but their wounds became much worse, and then they somehow stopped being as affected as the other girls.
"I think we’re being drugged," Selene said one day when they all seemed lucid. "The bastard is drugging us with something, and we need to stop him before it gets worse."
"I think so too." Clair nodded in agreement. "I think our wounds are preventing him from drugging us too, lest we get worse, and we’re of no use to him anymore."
Calista sighed. "We can’t seem to catch a break, can we?" She said. "Just one misfortune after another."
"Please, Calista," Larissa groaned, "don’t start. I can’t bear a headache right now."
Calisat raised her hands in surrender and pressed her lips thin. ƒreewebɳovel.com
"So what exactly do we do?" Theia asked. "Isn’t not like we just throw him over the ship." All the girls turned to look at her like she’d discovered a gold mine.
Theia chuckled awkwardly, glancing at each girl.
"Wait," Selene said abruptly, "what happens to the girls on the ship? I think they’ve been drugged too, drugged out of their minds. How do we get them back to normal?"
"We’ll think about when we actually throw this man off the ship, not before," Clair said. "For now, don’t eat or drink anything. And even if you must, in very small quantities so it doesn’t affect you as much."
"And when do we do this?" Selene asked.
The girls looked at each other like their thoughts had aligned. "Tonight," they chorused in sync.
Selene nodded, "Tonight it is."
They continued their chattering, laughing, and talking like nothing was amiss. Lunch time came, and the food came pouring, tray after tray, this time with lots of meat.
Calista bit down on her lower lip after the servants had left. "This is agonizing," she covered her face and shook her head.
"Tell me about it," Larissa said. "Also, why is there so much food today? Are we having a feast or something?"
"Does it matter? Why don’t we at least try a few things? It would be a waste to throw all this food away." Theia suggested.
"Wait," Selene said, halting the girls as they’d already stretched out their hands to take from the trays. "One thing and one thing only."
The girls groaned but began to look thoughtfully at their options. Suddenly, Clair’s face darkened, and she reeled back.
"What’s the matter?" Selene asked.
Slowly, she picked something off the tray and held it up for the girls to see. Calista immediately gagged.
"Isn’t this...a piece of cloth?" Clair asked.
"May the gods help us," Selene gasped.
Calista immediately stood up, rushed towards a bucket by the side, and vomited.
"I can’t believe it," Larissa said, shaking her head. "That’s why we haven’t seen the girl lately, isn’t it?"
Selene was seething with rage. "The gods help me, I’ll make sure he regrets this," she gritted her teeth.
They waited till nighfall, when everywhere was quiet, and went in search of Nolan. They heard him grunting in his cabin. His bed was squeaking so loudly it almost felt intentional, like he’d wanted people to hear.
The girls made a disgusted face and shook their heads. Selene barged in first and had to cover her eyes from seeing his naked buttocks. Then the other girls followed.
Selene held a knife to his throat. "Pull up your undergarments, quickly." He wasted no time obeying her.
Calista went to the girl Nolan had been with to ask that she be quiet, but she was out of it. The man was a monster through and through.
The girls led him out onto the deck and made him stand by the guardrails.
"Any last words Mr?" Larissa asked.
"Why are you doing this to me?" he cried. "I saved you; I saved you!"
"Spare us the rubbish, sir," Calista thundered. "You’re capturing young girls and women and making them objects for your amusements. I can’t even believe that we’d been grateful to you for saving our lives."
"That’s none of your business," he cried. "None of it concerns you. Why do you have to be so cruel?"
The girls stared in astonishment. But Selene had seen and heard enough. She rushed towards the man, drove a knife through his neck, and pushed him over the ship."
"That ought to teach you a lesson," Clair hissed. "The gall of the man, it wasn’t our business? Really?" She scoffed and kissed her teeth.
Selene turned back to the girls."Well, that takes care of it then?" She looked at the girls and smiled, "Time to go home."
