Chapter 1263: Chapter 1277: Understanding
An Ran winked at Grandma Mu, who returned a helpless smile.
She was aware of the bet between Old Mr. Mu and Old Mr. Shen. It seemed Grandpa was bothered that she visited the Shen Family first.
An Ran released Grandma Mu and walked over to Old Mr. Mu, softly calling, "Grandpa, I’m back."
"Hmph, you still know to come back? Isn’t the Shen Family better?" Old Mr. Mu snorted. Though his words were discontented, there wasn’t a trace of complaint in his voice, sounding more like playful teasing.
An Ran sat beside Old Mr. Mu, tilting her small face towards him, "Grandpa, I was just at Grandpa’s place for a meal. I’ll be staying home for the rest of the days."
Old Mr. Mu’s lips curled into a smile at her words, "Really?"
"Really, this holiday, I’m staying at home with Grandpa and Grandma, not going anywhere," An Ran promised Old Mr. Mu.
Mainly because she knew that with Mu Xingfeng around, she couldn’t stay at the Shen Family for long — not even for a short stay.
"Alright, this old man isn’t so unlikable. It’s enough for you and Xingfeng to come back and stay. Go wherever you need during the day. No need to keep this old fellow company all the time. Alright, it’s getting late, you’ve been busy all day. Go rest now."
An Ran responded and said goodnight to the elderlies before heading upstairs, with Mu Xingfeng following behind her. He had only taken a couple of steps when Old Mr. Mu called him back.
"Xingfeng, how’s the Special Training Team? Are you adjusting to returning to the Imperial City?"
Mu Xingfeng glanced at the back of young An Ran, then returned to sit down with Old Mr. Mu, discussing the Special Training Team.
Mu Wanxin looked at Mu Xingfeng with a mischievous smile, while Shen Wenxuan quickly pulled her upstairs.
Upstairs, An Ran went straight to her and Mu Xingfeng’s room, took the books from her backpack and placed them on the table, then got a nightgown from the wardrobe and went to take a shower.
When she came out, Mu Xingfeng was already in the room, fiddling with his laptop. Upon seeing An Ran, he closed the laptop and retrieved a hairdryer from the closet for her.
An Ran’s lips held a suppressed smile, but her eyes curved into crescents.
"If you want to laugh, just laugh. No need to hold it in." Mu Xingfeng walked over with the hairdryer, set it aside, and helped her dry her hair, "Seeing your husband being embarrassed is that funny, hmm?"
The last word was drawn out with a long lilt, revealing his good mood.
"Husband, didn’t you return home after being reassigned to the Imperial City?" If he had, how could Old Mr. Mu call him at that moment? Clearly, he was teasing him intentionally.
"The Special Training Team was just established, with many tasks, plus the team members were entering the final selection stage recently, so I really couldn’t find the time," Mu Xingfeng explained, then added, "Grandpa and the others understand."
An Ran chuckled to herself. Understand? If they understood, they wouldn’t have called you earlier.
"So when are you going back to the Special Training Team?" Given how busy he was, he probably wouldn’t be able to accompany her for the entire holiday.
Unexpectedly, Mu Xingfeng answered without hesitation, "After I see you off on your flight back to Nan’an, I’ll go back."
An Ran thought she misheard, looking up as the man leaned down, "Darling, do you really want your husband to keep getting teased?"
An Ran tilted her head, familiar warmth enveloping her face, slightly ticklish, yet making her incredibly fond.
