Mu Wanxin sat in the back seat, looking around as if she didn’t own more than ten luxury cars herself. You’d think it was her first time in a car.
Mu Xingfeng stared straight ahead, his face as cool and calm as the moon, but everyone around him could tell he wasn’t pleased.
Shen Wenxuan suppressed a grin as he pulled the woman’s small hand, drawing her into his embrace, and kissed the top of her head, "Sit tight, okay?"
He had no doubt that if Mu Wanxin kept making a fuss, the brother-in-law driving would unceremoniously kick them out.
Ran also had a smile tugging at her lips, remembering how Mu Xingfeng got played by Mu Wanxin the first time she met him. She never imagined her big sister would tease him like this regularly.
Once they reached the Shen Family’s home, Ran was swept away by her grandpa and Ya for some playful chatter, with no chance to interact with the man. After dinner, just as they were about to leave for the Mu Family’s home, her big sister insisted it had been too long since she visited their grandparents and decided to accompany them.
That was fine, but she also decided to ride in Mu Xingfeng’s car. Ran still remembered Mu Xingfeng’s dark expression when Mu Wanxin and Shen Wenxuan confidently climbed into his car.
She was sure that if it weren’t for their grandpa and uncle’s family being present, he would have tossed her big sister out without hesitation.
Mu Xingfeng glanced up at the rearview mirror, seeing the couple hugging in the back seat, then looked at his giggling wife, pulling her small hand to his lips for a kiss.
"Oh!"
Ran gasped in fright and glanced at the back seat, trying to retrieve her hand, but the man held it firmly.
Mu Wanxin leaned lazily against Shen Wenxuan, watching the little actions of the couple in front. Despite knowing Ran felt embarrassed, she deliberately spoke up, "It’s okay, Ran. Just pretend we’re not here. We haven’t seen each other in a month, we understand."
This made Ran even more embarrassed to let Mu Xingfeng hold her hand. She blushed and pulled her hand back, adding, "Drive carefully, big sister’s pregnant. Pay attention to safety."
Understanding Ran’s thin skin, Mu Xingfeng ceased his teasing and only cast a deeper gaze at Mu Wanxin through the rearview mirror.
Upon arriving at the Mu Family’s home, the place was brightly lit, indicating the elders hadn’t gone to bed yet.
The guard opened the gate, and someone reported their arrival inside. Once they got out of the car and reached the door, Grandma Mu came out to greet them.
"Grandma," Ran ran over to support the elder, "It’s chilly outside, why did you come out?"
Grandma Mu smiled and patted her hand, "I wanted to see you right away. Not bad, you’ve gained some weight. Come in quickly; your grandpa’s been waiting for you all day."
When they entered, Ran noticed that Old Mr. Mu, who had just been looking out the door, suddenly turned around, his back facing them, resembling a sulking child.
Ran winked at Grandma Mu, earning a helpless smile in return.
She knew about the bet between Old Mr. Mu and Old Mr. Shen. It seemed grandpa was upset that she visited the Shen Family first.
Ran let go of Grandma Mu and approached Old Mr. Mu, softly saying, "Grandpa, I’m back."
"Hmph, you still know to come back? Isn’t the Shen Family better?" Old Mr. Mu grumbled, but his words lacked any real grievance, sounding more like a playful childish sulk.
