Chapter 7: Discrepancies in details

"We should get used to skill sharing with some more practice. You just have to trust me with your potential. There’s so much more we can do with your skill."

The power that Felix had was not the same as the normal skills. The skill of a mystique was called [Mystique Arts]. And the one that she had was more versatile than most of the other skills that creatures of her level can command.

But we still need a lot of practice before we can use this skill as well as we want to.

"Meow~!"

{ "I’ll trust Sam~. Sam knows more about these things anyway~." }

She might become too dependent on me if I keep doing everything on my own, so establishing the distinction between the shared skill powers that I can use and the things that she can do on her own would be the first thing we would have to do.

But those things can wait till later.

"We have finished the bonding process." With the feline still in my hand, I showed the guards outside the essence card that belonged to her.

The essence card of the little white bird and hers had become one, but I can make them look like whoever I want.

It can be just hers, it could be just his, or it could have both of them on it at the same time. A lot of these things depended on your mental fortitude and the connection you have with your beasts.

"Hmmm. You will have to finish the registration process when you exit the cradle."

The guards did not pay too much attention to the card and confirmed the bonding. Then, the two of us walked up to the hooded lady who was still waiting for us.

"How did it go, young master?"

"Great. We might get to practice the {Skill} soon as well."

"Hmm?"

I didn’t tell her about the assassination attempt. There was still something I needed to check, so concerning her with uncertain things wasn’t a good idea.

Instead, the two of us just went ahead with the new member of our little family.

"Meow~!"

"Chirp! Chirp chirp chirp!"

The little chick did not like how I was treating Felix so well. He seemed jealous, but he was also too prideful to ask for the same kind of care.

He wanted to get closer to me as well, but the bond that we share will always remain the most special.

"Are you leaving already, Sir?" Kiren was waiting for us with the other beasts that did not return to their daily lives.

They were waiting for me, and they wanted to know what had happened out there.

So, the moment I arrived there, the creatures crowded around me, and some of them started speaking directly to Felix.

"Meow! Meow!!"

She obviously did not like how these little creatures were reacting, but she did not hurt them.

She just jumped on my hand and wrapped her body around my neck like a muffler.

If her face wasn’t visible, she would have looked just like a fur muffler, but she was telling the other creatures how they should not do this.

Maybe because of her commanding Aura, the creatures listened to her as well and calmed down.

"Hahaha." The wonders of nature.

These instances were the reason I loved the creatures of this world.

"You don’t have to be like that. I would have told you all anyway~."

We spent some more time in the sixth Cradle. The environment inside the cradle was maintained for the general creatures, but there were also certain areas that had environments made specially for certain kinds of creatures.

So, while we were in there, I spent some time looking through as many of the creatures as I could.

In addition, I requested Sir Kiren to get some of the herbs that grew inside the sixth cradle. I needed some of these things, and getting them from here would be much better than purchasing them at an absurd price.

"Umm, young master? Young master!"

There were some <Silver fur apes> here, so I went with them and played around in the trees.

"Chirp chirp!"

Some of the creatures with fire attributes were extremely afraid of my little white birdie, so I made sure he didn’t get arrogant and threw him in water (something he did not like very much) and laughed at him with the others.

"Meow~!"

After what seemed like a long time, the creatures of the sixth cradle had good fun. In fact, I was having a good time after a long time as well.

Playing with them made me forget the things that I had gone through not long ago. The life of these creatures wasn’t that easy either.

’Some of them will be sold out if they aren’t up to the standards of the Sungrade in the future, and some of them will die at the hands of people who come here to bond with them.’

It is very common for tamers with existing powerful creatures to force the creatures they like into bonding with them.

The forceful bonding process isn’t always successful, even when there is affinity present between them, so a lot of creatures die even during the process of bonding.

’When a tamer uses the most established taming process that focuses on the bodies of the tamer themselves, the chances of the beasts getting hurt increase further.’

What I know is not something that would be useful anytime soon, and changing the future too much will only bring misfortune to the people I’m trying to save this time.

I don’t want too many of the things that I know to go off their destined course, but then again, Murphy’s Law> establishes that the things that are supposed to go wrong will go wrong.

’If a timeline is linear, then the future cannot be changed too much from its destined course.’

But then again, there must be a reason I was sent back to the past.

There must be a reason behind my presence in this timeframe. There had to be a reason.

’Until we know the reason, at least...’

I have time until anything big happens, so I can plan for the things ahead. Still, if something in the known past changes, the causality follows.

"Young master... I suddenly have a strange feeling."

We were surrounded by various beasts in a pretty deep area of the cradle.

The area around us was also covered in thicker greenery.

Kiren was here; however, it did not seem like any other guards were present with her right now.

Additionally, certain sounds of the creatures in our surroundings that were present there just a moment ago had suddenly stopped for some reason.

"Lexie, it seems like the time to practice the new skills arrived sooner than we expected."

The gut feelings of a strong lady are never wrong.

Lexie, especially, was a trained master of various arts. If she was feeling something was strange, along with this weird atmosphere, then there was definitely something going on here.

"Lexie, prepare to engage. An ambush is coming."

While we could not see them, I could clearly feel the presence of non-beasts in our surroundings.

With the heightened senses of my new bond’s power, I knew someone had already surrounded us from all sides.

"Seems like the rumors were true, you peepswik." A deep voice was heard from my left, but I did not turn away to look in that direction.

I kept my eyes to the front, glaring at a certain tree that did not seem any different from the others.

"Able, you know how bad you are at hiding that insufferable stench of yours as well, right? Why even try?"

One of my ’Half’ elder siblings, and one that was only a year older than me, Ablegod Von Dewn Sungrade. A bastard who had wanted to kill me for a long time now.

"W-what did you just say? Stench...?"

He was one of the four brothers I had. Among the nine siblings, I was the second youngest, while he was the third youngest.

I haven’t had any relationship with any of my siblings since we have hardly ever come across each other, so I still don’t know what made this one want to kill me when I was just a useless nobody in this family.

-Shrrrrr...

"They have surrounded us, young master."

In my past life, I received an ugly scar from the assassins he sent. But it looks like he could not stay away when he heard how I was in the cradle this time.

’I knew there was a possibility like this.’

But he was too foolish to ambush me in a place filled with beasts.

"You made a mistake, Able."

As I saw hooded figures appearing from the shadows, with the light of the setting sun illuminating the entire dome, I smiled happily at the mere 19-year-old boy with red hair.

"You should have waited till we were outside if you wanted to take me out."

He was young and foolish.

And that foolishness was going to cost him quite a steep price this time.
