Chapter 46: Drugged

It was just as Ruby said: many girls were present, mostly our age, dancing with the guys, and Ruby had joined them.

I went to a corner of the room and sat down, unwilling to join the party. A girl sat beside me a minute later.

"You’re a new face; you don’t live around here," she asked.

"I don’t."

"Looks like you’ve been drinking. Want another drink?" She stood up, grabbed two bottled alcoholic drinks, handed one to me, and took one for herself.

"Is this your first time at a local motel?"

"Yes," I answered.

She looked me over and nodded. "You look like a rich kid. Your daddy must be made of money, huh?"

"Uh... no," I chuckled. "I’m not a rich kid."

"Your boyfriend, then?" she asked, but I stayed silent.

"He’s really taking care of you," she said, sipping her drink. "Want some fried chicken? The guy dancing with the pink-haired woman ordered some a few minutes ago. He owns this room."

"Oh, really?"

"You mind?"

"I don’t."

She grabbed a bowl of chicken, placed it beside us, took one piece, and began eating. fгeewebnovёl.com

"You should eat; you’re not dancing. Just sitting there is annoying and brings down the spirit."

"Oh... okay." I reached into the bowl, grabbed a drumstick, and started eating.

"I see you’re busy." Ruby came closer, took a drumstick, and returned to the dance floor.

"Is she your girlfriend?"

"She is."

"I can tell she dragged you here against your will," the girl chuckled. I smiled.

When will thirty minutes be up?

"Who ordered cake? The cake’s here." A random guy came in with a cake, sliced it, ate some, and offered some to the girl beside me.

"Want some?" she asked.

"No. I don’t like cake," I lied.

"Okay, that’s unfortunate," she giggled as she and the others devoured the cake.

Twenty minutes later, I stood and approached Ruby on the dance floor. "It’s almost time; your thirty minutes will be up soon. Get ready to leave," I whispered, yelling into her ear.

"Okay," she answered but kept dancing. I tried to return to my seat when someone suddenly grabbed me from behind — a guy.

He slammed his erection into my ass.

"What the f...!" I turned and shoved him hard.

What is wrong with him?

"Yo, chill. Don’t you know how to have fun?" he said, but I angrily went back to my seat.

Ruby came to me. "Are you okay?"

"I’m not. I want to leave," I frowned.

"Okay, let’s go. I’m already sweating." We left the party and walked back to our room. Ruby locked the door and collapsed on the bed.

"I want to use the bathroom; I don’t think I can sleep without a shower," I murmured.

"This room might be bugged; you need to be careful. Also, consider turning off the light before you undress."

This is why I prefer high-end hotels to motels. Most high-end hotels aren’t bugged.

I walked into the bathroom and turned off the light. As I tried to remove my skirt, a sudden wave hit me, and I nearly collapsed. I leaned against the door to regain strength.

What was that? Why do I feel dizzy? I must have had too much to drink. I think I’m going to vomit.

When I felt bile rising, I rushed to the toilet, lifted the seat, and prepared to vomit — but the urge vanished as quickly as it came.

Huh. Why? My insides are burning, my eyes are watery, and my head feels like it’s going to explode.

What is this feeling? Why is this happening?

"Amera," Ruby suddenly called my name, but I wasn’t coherent enough to respond immediately.

"Amera," she ripped the door open and staggered into the bathroom.

"Do you feel weird? I feel very weird..." She looked at me.

I tried to focus, but my vision was blurry.

"I think..." she coughed. "I think we were drugged. The chicken..."

A loud bang on the door forced me to open my eyes.

Huh, what’s happening?

"There she is," a familiar voice said.

"I can’t believe this," another familiar voice said.

"What is she doing by the toilet? Fuck," the voices came closer.

One squatted before me. "Are you awake? Need some help, lady?" He snapped his fingers in my face.

Huh, it’s Gavin.

What is he...? A gasp escaped my lips as memories from the previous day flooded my mind.

The brothers... they found me. They found us.

"How do you feel now? On top of the world? You turned your phone off and came here to have fun alone. Satisfied now?"

Huh. What?

I quickly wiped my drool and stood.

I looked around and realized we were still in the bathroom. Don’t tell me I slept beside the toilet?

Ruby was asleep against the wall, still unconscious.

Parker stood by the door, glaring at me.

How did they find us?

"Are you awake now?" Gavin asked again. I shook my head.

"Yes." freёwebnovel.com

"Can we go home now, ’princess’?"

"Yes."

"Okay." They started to leave, but I approached Ruby.

"Ruby," I shook her. "Ruby, wake up."

"Leave her alone," Parker groaned.

"No, how can I...? She’s my friend."

"She got you into this mess in the first place." Parker pulled me away from the bathroom.

"No, she didn’t!" I half-yelled.

"What?" He scoffed.

"She... she didn’t," I muttered, lowering my gaze.

"The truth will come out in a matter of hours, won’t it?" He wrapped his hand around my shoulder and led me out, while Gavin took my bag and phone.

We exited the motel and approached the car. Cooper was still waiting, typing on his phone, unaware of us.

The moment I saw him, memories of how we insulted him flooded me, filling me with embarrassment.

Oh geez, what will he do to us? I hope he lets it slide. He’s the reason I ended up like this. He caused it. It’s his fault.

He was the one who cheated and proudly admitted it. I’m not at fault. We’re not.

"Start the car," once we were closer, Parker instructed Cooper.

"Did you find her?" Cooper looked up from his phone and fixated on Parker, then on me.

The moment he looked at me, I quickly lowered my gaze to my feet.

Why am I looking away? I did nothing wrong. He should be the embarrassed one, not me.

Oh shit. This is messed up.
